Your studio is the stuff of dreams-- you are like the Beatrix Potter of this era. Before watching this, I was actually feeling quite down, but now I am so inspired to create today. Ever since I was a little girl, I have wanted to write & illustrate stories, and seeing your beautiful work has really inspired me to start making that a reality.
That is wonderful Johanna, follow your instincts and create the most beautiful book of your imagination. It doesn't matter if it takes years to complete, just make it the best book you can.

I was discourage to discover, while tidying this room, that mice had found a stack of old newspapers and booklets from the 1800's; you can just guess what they did to them....

Your crumpets look exactly like they are supposed to.They have a chewy texture and are lovely toasted with peanut butter and honey 🍯.

It’s all just too wonderful. I could spend a week in there seeing everything, memories from childhood,
Ike you said, joy from things around us. Bugs, toys, sewing, pictures, bunnies. I wish I could go back and take my children and grandchildren there,.
That was just wonderful! You make me feel like a child again the way you read those stories. I could listen all night. I have one of those sewing machines too, but mine is in a cabinet. It was my grandmothers and I just love it. It sews better than my new model.
I totally agree, the old machines are so reliable. I never use my modern Kenmore, only this Red Eye Singer and a SInger Featherweight from 1952.
Jeri Landers of Hopalong Hollow That’s so funny because I have a Kenmore too , plus a 1952 Singer in a maple cabinet which was my moms. I learned to sew on that machine in high school in the sixties. She gave it to me in the seventies when I was married because she bought a new Kenmore. Well she soon figured out that I got the better machine and asked if I would mind giving it back and she would give me the new Kenmore. What could I say? I took it , and now that she is 94 I have the 1952 Singer as well. Who needs three sewing machines? , but I’m attached to those old black Singers. They sew through the thickest denim seams on my jeans and the motor doesn’t even strain a bit. The only time I drag out the other machine is if I have to zig zag something otherwise it’s the old black Singer for me.
I'm British, in UK, and your crumpets look exactly like they should. I'm not keen on them myself but have one on occasion.
This is the first of your videos i've watched, beautiful to watch and the music is lovely too, fits perfectly.
Mar~Bear i intend to watch a few more today....the work room reminds me of a museum when i was a child, every nook and cranny was holding something interesting.....beautiful book, very expensive here though. I just love the artwork, i was disappointed when the reading stopped lol.

Thankyou Rickie! A tip on the crumpets coming from several viewers, is to toast them after you have cooked them, it takes away the doughy texture.

Oh never apologize for your videos running too long! I wish they were even longer and you could have left in all the clips you removed! I LOVE your videos and being able to peek into your creative space and world!! I can so relate to surrounding yourself with what some would call "clutter" but to us are magnificent treasures through time that always bring a smile to our lips, causing us to feel happy, loved, and content, right at home again. I have only partially put things around in my "workshop" that inspire me and bring me joy, because I have more things than I do space, but your space is incredible and so magical and inspiring. THANK YOU so much for sharing your tea, time, and snippets of your treasures with us! These have become my most favorite moments in any given day, when I can spend time watching a new video you have posted!
Thank you Melinda, I still have the deleted clips to use in a future video. My wonderful husband built those shelves that go all the way to the ceiling, it really helped contain all the stuff. Thank goodness for 10 foot ceilings.

I just want to thank you,I discovered your videos a few weeks ago and they have been a welcome respite from the turmoil of the times, I grew up in the country surrounded by woods with a variety of animal friends. My Mother a poet at heart endless pointed out the beauty that was all around us.2020 has been quite a year for us all,but the little break I get watching your videos really is good for my soul..so thanks for sharing your magical life ..

Jeri, my 2 granddaughters ages 6 and 8 came and visited me and stayed for a week. I introduced them to your videos and they just loved them. Every night before bed they would ask if they could watch one of your videos. It was so sweet to see them so interested in your work, gardening, felted animals, and all you had to say. Very relaxing to watch your videos before bedtime. Thank you for sharing your wonderful home and talent. I love gardening and painting also. Wish we were neighbors! Blessings to you and your family.

Keep them coming, absolutely inspirational. Im into some of your collections I own a 1952 Singer with a Williamson old thread cabinet that holds all spool wood thread. My husband made me spools 3"by 4" for decoration. Just love love your posts. Thank you for sharing.
That thread cabinet must be great. I also have a 1952 Singer Featherweight, I wonder if that's what you have. I consider it the best sewing machine ever made.

I always enjoy my Hopalong Hollow visits and today was a real treat. It was long band cozy (they are never long enough for me) , so I enjoyed every minute. I collect old toys also and was tickled to see things I own or owned since I sometimes sell to make room.Your animals are so cunning and seeing all the wonderful things in your studio was delightful. I also relished the sight and sound of your rainy day garden. My garden is still fast asleep under five feet of snow , so rainy was a welcome sight.
I'd love to see your collection, the old toys and games are the best!

Thank you, your creative space is simply wonderful, you are such a joy, every time I go in my craft area I will think about your creative space and be thankful I have an area to craft! Hope to hear from you in the future. I could certainly benefit from your story telling, I lost my daughter to beast cancer almost a year ago, I have not been able to get back to my life since that time, your voice and story telling put a little joy back in my heart. Life will never be the same after losing her, it was such a trying time she was in the hospital 90 days, had twelve surgeries and atleast that many procedures before she left us. She was 52, but to me she was my baby girl that I cherished so very much! Thank you again for giving me a little joy this morning, my crafts really help me thinking of other things!
Dear Kathleen, I sincerely sympathize with your pain, I cannot imagine the heartache of losing a child, no matter what age. Let your creativity bring you back to joy. I think God gives us busy hands and an imagination to bring beautiful and fun things to life... it helps feed our soul. I am glad if my video helped... keep creating.

Jeri, I don't know when I have enjoyed a video so much. Your bunnies and bears and foxes etc. are so like the illustrations in your book as well as books I read in my childhood. In fact, it took me back to the time when Thumbelina was a popular book and I always wished I could be like her. Just marvelous! I've kept quite a number of my old wooden spools when I started noticing that plastic was replacing them.
I also have kept old wooden spools, have my mother in laws sewing caddy with her sewing supplies still in it.

I just love your teas!!!💗 Really need to find myself one of those apple peeler/corer/slicers!🍏🍎 After your last tea I looked up your website & was so really impressed with your art, work & books! So adorable & so incredibly detailed! Thank you for showing us your workshop. I learned to sew on an old Singer just like that from my Grandmother - so that brought back so many precious memories. She so used to let me go through all her colors of threads & I would always just be mesmerized.

Look for a vintage apple peeler on Ebay, this thing works like a charm! Fox are my favorite animal to felt..
