Skepta is actually a legend. Being from Tottenham myself this video means a lot to me🖐🏽
curly skepta went to my school
curly but man left
Gotta rate Tottenham's community for having avenues for youths to channel their energy. I didn't see any of that shit growing up here in South.
south's so fucking dead
sdfhu you will get bucked if you came South
Keir Bo fr, I'm 18 and was born and raised in NC, and I'm tryna do something with my life so I can get outta here, too much racial tension and simple mindedness, not that everyone here is racist and simple minded, it's just way too conservative here, nobody can express themselves without being called weird, I can't date a white girl without wondering if her parents are cool with me being black, it sucks...
Keir Bo where you talking about south London or the southern United States? I was talking about south U.S. My bad lol
South LDN. America is a whole different level of struggle especially the South, I feel your pain.
I walk from White Hart Lane to the flats opposite Tottenham police station
fuckin yids
ScHoolBoy DNB Tottenham hotspurs are changing the name of white hart lane, pagans.
thank you captain obvious

@@thomasholland2384 Why would you even bring that up that's so irrelevant
"Where there's adversity there's positivity, where there's negativity there's also creativity" a wise man from the London streets.
"Pain is a good catalyst for creativity" - Skepta (2016)
true but the other way round? 'creativity is a good catalyst for pain'?
@@artpixie4467 Both!!
@@artpixie4467 you're saying that creativity causes pain? Tf kinda art are you doing?

London is the best city in the world
Southside no...its London
how is London the best city when you get your style from the USA & The Caribbean?
LA cuh.
Yasar Malak style from USA? lool joke. and we got a lot of carribeans in London. can u blame us? foool
+Yasar Malak where did you yanks get your style from??? you all wear our clothes (European designers) but we copied you?!?! lol hahah
You hear of Tottenham and you think of Harry Kane, I hear of Tottenham and I think of hella pain
Adeles from Tottenham as well
True, born in Tottenham but her musical journey started as she was being raised in West Norwood.
She sounded definitely like Adele at 2:47!! Oh My Gosh!!
Feel like strong communities are such a rare thing down south, particularly in London. Living here up north (Yorkshire) you always get that good feeling of a strong community and know pretty much everyone within your village/town. When I visit family in London it seems like everyone is just getting on with their own lives, without having time for neighbors etc. Good to see Tottenham bringing back the community feel down south!
Akash Jethwa it's too busy in London!
I don't know I would disagree. Maybe because there is over 8 million people in London? and generally Yorkshire is a way way wayyyyy nicer place & easier to live. Bit more difficult to form a community in certain places in the UK, London being one of them. You can't just say down south as places like Bournemouth and such are just fine in regards to community. I think there is a community now bigger than ever in London, and its showing through the success of its music & scene?
Akash Jethwa that's just how cities are.
Yeah tbh I should have only mentioned London. Its just the little things though, like a 'good morning' whilst walking to the shop can't happen just because of over population? Shocking if true. Anyway as a northerner I don't really care THAT much ahaha
+Mo Fomi Honestly I've lived in both London and the north and he's not wrong, people in London are generally colder and less receptive, they completely ignore strangers and tend to be more stuck up, it's the same in some other big cities from what I've heard. Up north it's a lot more friendly, people are generally more humbled, and strangers will even say hi to you in the street
"Pain's a good catalyst for creativity" jheez realist shit I've heard in a while
dotdot dot yessir loved that there
"Pains a good catalyst for creativity"
HOME. Was born and raised in Tottenham till I was 11. I just turned 25 now and been out the country ever since I left Tottenham. It's nostalgic to watch this and makes me proud that I grew up around a diverse community. N17 BROADWATER FARM
Patrick Fuller I wouldnt say 'raised' if you left when you was 11. Your key years of socialisation and character building are in your teenage years.
Trying to start an unnecessary argument over nothing. Welcome to the internet
@DOOM haha ok. I still carry a lot of memories from those days and remember them like they were yesterday. Everyone has their opinion, and I don't fully disagree with you either.
I live in The Philippines now. this place is paradise compared to a lot of places, Tottenham too.
Definitely do one for east London

Absolutely love this documentary. I write this as someone now living in Dubai who grew up and followed a very similar musical path growing up working the Pirate Radio scene getting into live gigs across London, followed by some international gigs then onto my new home in Dubai. 100% proud of my Tottenham roots. It gave me the life skills to push through the hardships and go and get what you want out of life. Big Love!
Shoutout to you, man! That's amazing to read :) Best of luck in your new home
@@JamieR1988 Tottenham has been a financially deprived area for decades!

True, however it always had a sense of community and people looked after each other.

Nicely put together.
I’m Australian & found that doco cool & informative. Those old pirate stations cranking the jungle & ragga were so rad.
Man I just found out about all this from watching Top Boy. We all from from the same tree (Africa) just different branches. One love to our Bros & Sis' from the UK. Top Boy is a dope ass series btw.

Mad inspirational
Chances are if you grew up in Tottenham you’ve seen or been through some shit. I’ve seen scary situations with knives and guns. People that need emergency treatment after being stabbed but won’t let you phone an ambulance for them. There is a lot wrong in the area, but it is still home. Tottenham should celebrate these boys and girls who grow up with very little but channel their creativity to find success. These are truly talented people, and talented people are everywhere. I totally commend the message in the video 👍
Real. Genuine. Unfiltered. This is the REAL Tottenham Music Scene.
skepta is looking tired these days...legend tho

i grew up in Hornsey down the road but everyone in north london knows Tottenhams the place to be cause of the vibe it brings
I have a bittersweet relationship with London. It sucks, it's cold, the people are rude but I'm still somehow attracted to it.
greatness only.
Nice! Chip should've been in this though, Tottenham to Hollywood
These artists still love Tottenham cause they made money and got outta their quick. I lived in totty for a few years its depressing now I live in the hills life is great. Hope everyone makes it out.😎

I miss Tottenham. I take my infant daughter there sometimes but can't wait till she's old enough to really take it in. No place like home.

“Yeah you’ve got to run from a couple dogs and hop a fence” is crazy😂
big up Chip & Wretch32 everytime
Good but u shoulda documented east London/south London music scene first. South was garage like so solid but east was speed garage/grime. Aka lethal b. More fire. Wiley. Roll deep. Dizzee. Tinchy. North developed it. East created the grime scene imo
Lol obviously it's about Tottenham though so that's why it's solely based on Tottenham.
It's a noisey report, they're on the skepta hype and it gets the views in from the US. At least they said in the video that they were looking up to Wiley when they started out. Allow them mate.
yeh il give them the benefit of the doubt lmao its a shame that the US never really took a liking/hype to wiley. Pioneered our genre and still got slept on. Anyone who knows grime knows wiley is cold with this flows and is the godfather of grime. Hence why his new albums called the Godfather Adam Barker
What are some notorious east London artists?? I Don't know much about London music
2453jonathan
practially everyone in the grime scence. Lethal, more fire, wiley , roll deep, dizzee, tinchy, newham generals (D double e, Footsie,) Jammer, Slew dem, Esco, tempz, a lot of mcs from Bow.,Maryland, Newham, etc...
Love this! proud to be from BWF, Tottenham. Also I'm in this video which shocked me (well a pic of lil me, lol)
