Seems more effective when cycled in my experience thus far. One of the few food supplements which have very noticeable differences.

I take a product from the Sears clinic with 100mg of ashwagandha per day for 18 months in a complex supplement. However,I take many supplements for men's health and vitality along with joint health supplements too. I also incorporated Keto and IF. My health has dramatically improved in less than two years 😂!

I have Hashi and Ashwagandha has made my thyroid nodules significantly smaller over just a few months. I started taking it per a recommendation by a popular endocrinologist on CZcams (Childs is his last name, I can’t remember his first name at the moment).
Anyway, he said it lowers thyroid antibodies and it absolutely has done that for me. I’ve stopped losing so much hair, I’m getting less random skin rashes, my thyroid is less swollen and tender, and I don’t feel like garbage 24/7 when I take it. It’s going to be awful having to cycle this supplement knowing how much it helps me.
Because this is just how I personally react to the herb and it may affect others differently, I agree with what was said- be careful and talk to your doctor or naturopath, especially if you’re taking thyroid medication.

@@smarzig - Nootropics Depot is the brand. I use the powder form and I use the one with the ‘Shoden’ patent, specifically. KSM-66 patented Ashwagandha is is okay but Shoden is far superior and seems much more bioavailable (in my experience). It makes me feel absolutely amazing. I should point out- Shoden is known more for providing clean energy, focus, and lifting brain fog whereas KSM-66 is better for depressing the nervous system, promoting relaxation and calm. Some people take Shoden in the morning and KSM-66 at night, but those people have more money than I do. :-)
Nootropics Depot has the cleanest, most extensively tested supplements on the market (and I’ve tried soooo many). Not all Ashwagandha is created equal, that’s for sure. Stay away from brands like Nature Made and Swanson, because these brands are complete crap and their supplements contain more filler than actual product. You really do get what you pay for when it comes to vitamins and supplements. In my experience, if it can be found on a shelf in your local supermarket, it’s likely junk.
If you get the powder, either get a scale that can weigh in milligrams or a 10mg spoon for measuring out supplement powders (you can find both on Amazon and the spoon is much cheaper, but not quite as precise- I prefer the spoon because the variations in dosages are so minor. I just get the small one because it has 125 servings and lasts a really long time. I couldn’t find a 125mg spoon, so I bought a 10mg spoon for like $6-$8 and I use about 10 scoops per serving (I do not level off the spoon). The powder is easier to absorb and you get more for your money. The small jar is $26.99 on Amazon, and about the same on their site.
      I hope that helps.

Thanks for this detailed outline! I’ve used ashwagandha in the past, about 4 months during the pandemic. Great for calming effects and stress, I felt! At least in the short term. After the 3rd month I started feeling a bit off. Not tired per se, just really blah. Felt really numb to everything. Stopped eventually because I just was not getting any joy out of the things I used to enjoy like sex and delicious food. Was mainly looking for libido effects so it was pretty disappointing. Eventually made the switch to Tongkat Ali after a recommendation from a friend and the libido boost has been nothing short of spectacular. A year in and no complaints at all.

Ashwagandha didn't work for me, even after trying a few brands. In fact i get headaches and i don't know why that is. I rather use Standardized Hot water Root Extract Tongkat Ali instead.

Personally I take ashwaghanda at night as a sleep aid and it has worked great for me. Regarding rheumatoid arthritis I am not aware of any major issues that people have had. In general I always have my patients start small, and if they have any issues just stop taking it. Otherwise there shouldn't be any huge issues that I am aware of.
