    Snap-in didn't work here either, trying different back-forward placement of the brackets. Never seen shades that are so difficult to mount. Video is near useless as you can't see the proper postitioning and the snap-in part. Same with the manual, it's not showing the most crucial step clearly

  • @thoroughlycaffeinated7353

    They need better instruction on placement of the brackets. I installed mine last night (inside mount). If I had to do it again, I wold make a template of stiff paper with holes where the screws would go, and I would set the holes back from the front of the window frame at least an inch, maybe 1.5 inches. Not sure whether side-to-side placement is critical. Tilting the shades (backside up) to get them into the brackets is key.

    Mine do not snap in either. Purchased 8 sets and less than half the clips altogether snap in, resulting in crooked blinds on every window.

    Several comments here mention difficulty snapping the headrail into the brackets. For the headrail that is rounded, first hang the top front lip of the headrail onto the top metal tabs of each bracket. Then rotate the headrail downward to snap it into place. To make this easier try rotating the headrail downward with one hand, while reaching behind the shade material to push upward on the underside of the headrail at each bracket (snap in one bracket at a time).

  • @BigChiefWiggles
    @BigChiefWiggles Před rokem

    The clips are very nice, they pivot front to back and lock in with the long tab in the back. To take them off you push that tab away from the front of the shade and the assembly pops out by pivoting down and sliding off forward. When you are installing the shades you need to put the front part over the lip on the clip, pivot the shade up towards the lock tab in the back of the clip, and then smack the front of the shade so it pops in and locks in. It does help to put the clip on and take it off a few times before installing to understand how it works. For the distances measure from the window frame because the wall may not be even.

    I may have AN ANSWER for all of you who cannot get these blinds to click in. Let at least one of the brackets be a bit loose - do not tighten the screws too firm.
    I do not know why this worked but it did! My husband and I had the same problem as many of you have stated. Only one side would click in if we were lucky. We pounded, pushed, pulled and thought we would break the window in trying to get that blind in. We not only watched the Levolor video which was not helpful, but we also watched others install cordless cellular shades on CZcams and NO ONE had video of what it looks like UNDER the blind to see where the back side should go. We also called the customer service personnel, who tried her best to help, but to no avail. Once we figured out the secret of keeping one bracket a little loose, we were able to go back and fix the first 4 we had precariously in place and installed 2 more blinds without any problem. I hope this helps save others from the aggravation we had! I also need to thank the good Lord for helping us solve the problem. I was so frustrated after 2 weeks of trying to get this to work, I said a quick prayer and within 4 minutes of that prayer, we figured out the solution!!!

      @@user-eu5gt1rd9b Initially when we had all the screws tight, we were able to finally get one side in, but the other side just kinda rest there- it was not secure, but we wanted the sun out. Once we realized if we loosened one of the 2 brackets, there was just enough wiggle room for the rail to snap in. You do not need to have it real loose, just don't have it tight. Once the rail is all in- you cannot go back and make the screw tight. It just has to stay that way. However, as I said you are not making the screw real loose. We have been using moving the blinds a lot since then and there is not problem. Best of luck!

  • @Dilbertic
    @Dilbertic Před 3 lety +7

    Levolor, you need to do a much better job showing how the blind snaps into these cheap ass brackets, and really wished you had some type of slide in bracket, sure many of us would pay extra. You also need to explain if the bracket is flush the odds of getting the front most lip into and under the blinds front most lip is near impossible, which means you need a spacer which would then leave a gap at the top showing unless it came with the cross piece to hide whats behind it. In any case show a close up of how the blind slides into the basket from above down not behind, poorly done video which will product calls and time..

    So we are on the 4th installation of the blinds. We had trouble snapping in the 3rd bracket... but eventually snapped in with no adjustment.
    But then someone noticed the top mounted rail was slightly slanted.
    I had chalked it up to window frame as they are not square.
    So I had to go and look closely. The first bracket is flush with blind as you move to other side, the rail hangs a bit lower on the bracket (more of it shows)
    They are all snapped in... so I don't get how the top rail is not flush.
    Is this everyone's experience??
    The blinds themselves look perfectly parallel.

      we found that to get the rail to snap in, you need to slightly loose the screws on one of the brackets. It needs a little wiggle room for it to have both snap in. I don't know about the droopiness you mentioned. We did not have that problem.

  • @nancylou224

    WRONG WRONG WRONG! When it comes to the part about “snapping “ the shade into the bracket she is WRONG. After fighting with this for 30 minutes (we had to replace our continuous cord loop) doing it this way- putting the bottom on the spring, pushing back while rotating the top- my DH resorted to logical reasoning. If when removing the shade you have to first push the bracket spring on the bottom inward to release, logically you would reverse sequence and that would be the last step when putting the shade back up. It worked first try.

      It sounds like you were not able to snap the rail into the brackets. It takes a good amount of force. We could only get one side to snap in but not the other. After several hours, of trying different things, we discovered the secret... Let the screws in one of the brackets be a bit loose - do not tighten the screws too firm. Once you do that, it should snap in - you will hear and feel it . then it will be very secure. Hope this helps! Good luck!
