    Just what I needed. Bought these exact shades today and didn't know what to do with the bracket. Not it's clear. Thank you!

    Levolor guides are useless... you finally gave the info I needed. Thanks!

    The carboard paper holder that they asked you not to discard is in case you want to trim your shades to the right height (like the problem you have). Once you remove the top end or the bottom end, you don't want your pleated shades to fall apart. That's what those cardboard holders are for. You could, of course use rubber bands too, to get the job done.

    They won't insulate well if you have them all compressed like that since your shades are way too long for the window. The air trapped in the open cells is what provides insulation. It needs to be cut to height.

    How do we pull them back down

    It's usually a good idea to cover your mattress with a sheet before working on it.

    I keep running into metal when I drill. I need help!

    Before you drill, make sure to lightly tape some paper or somehting around that area for protection

    Place a piece of paper or painter tape on the glass as thermal target on the glass. Actually a dry erase marker target or metal duct tape with a paint on it adhered to the glass would be more accurate a reading. Then compare that temp to your cellular material as a target. You might have to keep your handheld thermal gun very close to the target due to the focal spread on less expense thermal guns.

      I'd love to have a FLIR for videos like this, the Harbor Freight infrared thermometer isn't the most accurate tool.

    Top of the line? Mine's broken after two months, another CZcams vid calls them junk and not to buy. I'm inclined to agree. How about a video about how to fix if it can be done at all?

    • @jcbullen

      Hey, if we are using meaningless anecdotal evidence to determine how good these blinds are, mine have been fine for years and I watched a youtube video that said they were good. Maybe stop manhandling them? I don't want to call them top of the line, but I also wouldn't consider them junk.

    Excellent vid but don't waste your $ on these horrible blinds. #1 They just don't work well--when you put them up they often go up crookedly so you are constantly evening them up. #2. These will soon be ruined by oil from you fingers--no plastic tab--just your fingers on the button or the shade while you straighten it. #3 That piece he had trouble with on the end neither fits not stays once you do finally do
    have it in. These are going back and Levolor should be ashamed for selling these.

    So no they don’t insulate anything.

    • @striker1211
      @striker1211  Před rokem

      I'm not sure that they insulate any better than a thick curtain, like Eclipse. I love the look and function of them though. One commenter pointed out that Lowes should have cut them for height as well but we were never asked and at the time I didn't even think about it. They haven't malfunctioned though. Still work fine.
