  • Follow along to see how I easily trimmed down a cordless cellular shade to fit a window in our kitchen.
    Custom shades for this size window were about $50 per shade. Luckily we found a pair for $20 each, saving us $60 by trimming them ourselves!

    Does a typical wood blade work for this?

      A slow cut with the wood blade that was already on my chop saw worked great as well. Thanks @WatchMeDiyIt for the video!

    Lol I guess I did speak too soon... Been wanting to make a desk for my lady... Like farmhouse one ... And then wanted to sneak in like power cord built into it and maybe like USB extender as well...

    I have some cut at home Allen and Roth from Lowe's and am not sure if I can cut with a regular table saw or not. They are half the price of the other ones though and are nicer.

    Why hang these on the trim rather than within the frame of the window?

    Lol you could have at least made the 2 shades level with each other.
    Did you try flipping the blade on the saw to see if it cut better, without the risk of chipping?

    • @sheenacarroll3337
      @sheenacarroll3337 Před 2 lety +1

      From what I can see the second window may have been lower than the first window that's why it looks like that but what you saying is right they should match up so I would have made the other one a little bigger with maybe a strip of wood on top in place to put the shade on to make it match up

    • @WatchMeDIYIt
      @WatchMeDIYIt  Před 2 lety

      Yeah. The window trim heights are different. Didn’t want to spend too much extra time modifying the window frames to install the shades. Thanks for watching!
