    Thanks for the great video Mitch, again. I've not touched Daikin for a little while, but having this video to refer to will help loads as we are a Daikin service partner. You never know when we could get that fault on a call out! Your Daikin related videos keep me as fresh as I can be 👍🏻haha
    Have a great weekend mate 🤜🏻🤛🏻

    Leave the wires in the connector , purchase smaller probes

    But some needle point multimeter leads from eBay. I have a couple of sets for this, no need to remove the terminals from the plug

    Nice job Mitch. There is a diode in some of these motors that’s why you need to switch current directions on the ohm test. Your best advice is learn to read your meter. Thanks for the video, stay well.

    Absolutely crazy what they did with that app. Already its hard as hell to get through to Daikin Technical support, at least the app helped somewhat..

    • @maracservices
      @maracservices  Před rokem +1

      Yeah mate, I have no idea why they removed the tech info. Apparently the Daikin equip app is the new go to. Apparently it has all the info on there. I’m not sure why they changed.

    hey big dog if you get the daikin equip app it has all the info - requires a bit of sign up and isnt as easy to use as the old service app but its handy
    check out slim tip probes for your multi, I've got a field piece with the adk7 lead kit which has a set of needle probes which fit down the back side of the headers to touch the pins. save depinning and having to think about the order
    love the vids mate

      Excellent video Mitch!! Slim tip probes save heaps of time on site. You can also strip some scrap tps cable and wrap a copper strand around each probe to give you a fine point for testing. This has saved me heaps of time in the past, keep up the good work Legend!! 🤙🏼

  • @ruimvp

    Thank you. I have a short circuit between blue and brown (or white brown). Do you think the motor can be repaired or replaced?

    • @maracservices
      @maracservices  Před rokem +2

      No worries. A motor can be rewound but the cost of the labour to do so could possibly outweigh the price of the fan motor itself. If it was just a noisy or ceased bearing, then repairing the fan would be an option.
      In this case, I’d just replace the fan motor myself.

    Hi Mitch, thanks for your video. 🙂👍 if the fan motor goes does it take out the PCB?

    • @maracservices

      It definitely can take out the PCB. Not always but I’ve seen it happen many times.

    • @jabberwokky8
      @jabberwokky8 Před rokem +1

      @@maracservices Thanks for the reply Mitch. I saw that the led PCB status light started blinking when the fan was disconnected. So it seemed the board was ok and it was just the fan motor malfunctioning. I replaced it and the heat pump is now working fine.
      My neighbour had the same issue but the fan motor failing also took out his main board.

  • @tready2008

    Removing the wires out of the molex plug isn't necessary, most of the time you can back probe or lay it flat and just hold your meter probes on the back of the connector where the tabs are. Just saves the time of removing them and reinserting remembering the order etc.

    Is it possible that the ohm value is in specification but the motor still failure from other electronic function?
