Another great reaction, and thank you for listening to us! As some others have mentioned, with Ren and Chinchilla, live is always better, and most of Ren's videos are live/one-take videos, which is just absolutely amazing. I know I said it on the last video, but definitely check out Ren X Chinchilla - "How to Be Me (live)" and Chinchilla - "Fingers (live)" and "Cold Water (live)". Plus you can also find some videos of the two of them busing together which are also great. Looking forward to the next reaction!

Just to clarify, in case you genuinely didnt know, but i checked out your playlist. You may be surprised that actually, MOST of the videos you reacted to from Ren WERE live 🙊 (i know you said that they were mostly videos). Thats just how amazing Ren is, he sounds as good, if not better live.

They call each other musical siblings ❤❤❤, the Ren rabbit hole with his songs like the busking ( Street performances) with “The big push “ band and with “Sam Tompkins” are gold. Chinchilla’s music is awesome “ fingers” live is so hauntingly beautiful as is the other duet with Ren “how to be me”. As always loving your reactions and can see where Mike is coming from with his.
Thanks for re-doing it. Most of Ren's work is done live, in a single shot. This one is no exception. He is always good - including his studio productions - most of which he does himself. The thing with Ren, though, is that each performance is often quite different from the last.... in this one, the sound of the room itself is spectacular. He often chooses locations for the sound of the space

A tip for future reference - where there is a live version of a Ren song, react to the live version. They are normally shot as one take videos and he and his videographer Sam produce stunning videos.

It's hard to recognise because of the quality of production but Hi Ren, Tales of Jenny, Screech and Violets tale were all Live and one take videos. It's definitely a trait of Rens videos.
No need to explain yourselves, some people don't seem to understand what a reaction channel is, if I start watching a reaction channel and I don't like it, I watch something else, I mean it's not complicated. Do what you want, say what you want, wear what you want - it's your channel. As for Chalk Outlines, what a brilliant song, I watched the live version first and then when I did the studio version I was expecting it to be not as good, but I really liked it. The live version perhaps has more impact because it's a slower tempo and of course we are seeing them singing into each others eyes. If you want to check out Chinchilla I would suggest ' Fingers ' live and ' Elements ' lyric video.
You might be surprised but most of the song's reacted to from Ren (even by you) are live and many times 1 take videos.

Quite a lot of Ren's videos are recorded completely live, no lypsynch, live playing, singing, rapping. He does them in a single take too. So, you probably have seen Ren perform live before but not realised it. Hi Ren was live, 1 take, for instance, as was each part of the Jenny, Screech and Violet trilogy, all his busking is live, obviously, as is virtually all of his stuff with his band, The Big Push. Plenty of his other solo work is too. You get the picture, lol. So, if you've listened to any of that, you have heard Ren live before. :) Even when he does studio work, he tries to keep production to a minimum and avoids things such as autotune, like the plague. He likes to keep things stripped down as much as possible. He produces himself, to retain artistic control. He also plays about 7 different instruments, really well, so that helps too. :)

I just checked out your Ren playlist and wanted to let you know that both Hi Ren, and the tales of Jenny/Screech/Violet were all live and one take audio (hi Ren was done in one take for the audio and an edit of three cameras for the video). You can see his Lavelier (sp?) mic in all of them :) just an fyi! His live stuff is so good and mastered so it does sound more polished. But especially in the tales you can hear the room sounds quite distinctly
Ren has been an obsession of mine (and a lot of people I’m sure) ever since I heard Hi Ren, but thanks to him, I’ve also fallen in love with Chinchilla. This strong, beautiful woman has a voice that decimates your soul. I haven’t listen to all of her music but my favorite by far is Fingers THE LIVE FOR HUNGER TV VERSION. You HAVE to do the live version if you decide to check her out. I really hope you do because I love watching people get blown away by her talent and uniqueness.

I love you did the live reaction. I completely understand being a reaction channel that you have no idea what you are walking into. And it can be a crap shoot which version to go for. With Ren I have found I always prefer his live versions. He just brings his personality and intimacy with how he performs that you just don't get from his recorded versions.
Btw I love your intro and being clear about being true to yourself. Right down to the ladies you paid for! 🤣 I laughed as it reminded me of how Dolly Parton always says "it takes a lot of money to look this cheap!" and she is unapologetic about that as are you. Actually, you may think you have only done studio version, but in fact most of what you have reacted to have been live takes, including Hi Ren.
Hi Ren as well as The Tales are all live takes. Easy to overlook due to the production quality though.

I'm actually with Mike; I LOVE both versions and the live version has something special with their chemistry, passion and some different harmonies, but the studio version I think is possibly easier on the ear in some ways. Either way I think I'll always slightly prefer 'How to be Me' as a better demonstration of their pure synchronicity and Ren's devastating and beautiful songwriting. Great reaction, both, as always. x
Really don't understand why idiots have to proffer unsolicited opinions on a channels presentation style or what the presenters decide to wear...(says he who wants to start a fan club for Mike's shirts... which are epic!) And Ginger... I would start a fan club for those boobs but have been strongly advised by my lawyers that that could lead to a terrible set of legal ramifications... not to mention that it would be some what gauche!... another great reaction, Its good to see both versions of this song reviewed as they are both beautiful. First, I can not fathom why anyone feels comfortable criticizing your clothing when you are in your house on your channel. Shaming women and their bodies is such a patriarchal trap. I have a large chest and it is really difficult to NOT have cleavage. Hearing comments about my body started when I was 11. It was so damaging. This now just feels me with anger.
Second, the live version of "How to be Me" with this duo is stunning. Same stripped down feel focused on vocals and lyrics. Her live version of "Fingers" is astonishing. #Little Girl Gone" is great, too.
I think you’ll find that with Ren, the live version is better 99% of the time :)

There is no right or wrong with Ren but it is a crapshoot on studio vs. live for example I prefer GENESIS studio over the live. Maybe the best way to pick is go with the version with the most views?
