    Stuff we use:
LENS - Most people ask us what camera we use, no one ever asks about the lens which filmmakers always tell us is more important. This lens was a big investment for us and one we wish we could have made sooner. Started using this lens at the end of 2013 - amzn.to/2tbtmOq
    AUDIO
Rode VideoMic Pro - The Rode mic helps us capture our backup audio. It also helps us sync up our audio in post amzn.to/2t1n2hx
Audio Recorder - If we had to do it all over again, this is probably the first item we would have bought - amzn.to/2tbFlM9
LIGHTS - Although we like to use as much natural light as we can, we often enhance the lighting with this small portable light. We have two of them and they have saved us a number of times - amzn.to/2u5UnHv
COMPUTER - Our favorite computer, we each have one and have used various models since 2010 - amzn.to/2t1M67Z
EDITING - We upgraded our editing suite this year and we’re glad we did! This has improved our workflow and the quality of our work. Having new software also helps when we have a problem, it’s easy to search and find a solution - goo.gl/56LnpM

Stopped making pancakes so I could focus on Kaplan’s ideas. I love all of your videos, but Kaplan is one of only a handful of folks you’ve interviewed who can make me stop making pancakes. And I really like pancakes.

The point of Groundhog Day is not how to become a good person. We all mostly live a life like Groundhog Day. We go to work, we have mostly the same people and interactions every day. We dream of somewhere else, somewhere better, and we're unhappy. But when Phil learns he is stuck there forever, that this day IS his life, forever. He begins to love and appreciate the people he is with, and only then is he set free from this place/time. We spend most of our lives trying to be somewhere else, but one day we will all look back and just say "man I wish I could go back and see that 1 friend another time" because our lives are sacred because they are fleeting.
2ndly, no one found Tropic Thunder offensive. Give me a break. No one was "offended" until everyone started saying how offended we should all be at everything all the time.

Thanks. Engaging. Trying to figure where Jacques Tati would fit into this.

What do you like about the Comic Hero's Journey?

I like the way it unfolds because it establishes a connection with audience pretty early with the WTF moment, which is usually some sort of secret that the audience knows and shares with the character through the character's journey. I think it feels related to the hero of a thriller. I don't think the 7 steps works with the movie Joker (2019). Maybe, because the antagonist becomes the hero in the movie, or that it builds a slow connection between the audience and the character.

Tropic Thunder is not offensive. It is just funny and it is ok to say that.

Why is he doing comics that keeps mentioning other films?

Apologies in advance if I am misreading the intent of the post, but it is comic as in humor instead of comic as in comic book hero, although, when it comes down to it, story telling is story telling.

Retitle as Comedy or Comical vs “Comic”. The audience confusion is real.
