@@DementisXYZI remembered you had to open the game menu to be able to swap out partners. Don't think you could do it instantly on the spot

this is a quicker and to do the point version of it
I love that some characters have new animations, like Koopie Koo's sad face, and Koops and Flurrie's "ready for battle" poses. This game is starting to appeal to me more and more.
Also, it's funny how Japan just calls this game Paper Mario RPG.

@@jesusfranco2949 In The Origami King, the battle theme would change depending on which area of the game you're at. Each Boss also had their own unique theme.

Legitimately what is unbelievable about this game being remade? It's the most successful entry in the franchise, and it was already in 3d, so it's not as difficult to reimagine as say Mario RPG.

The remade Rogueport theme is absolutely beautiful.
Auto translate at 00:11 says "Everything is fluent in the world of Gods" at another point it says "the town, the forest, and the resident are all gods"
Nintendo is really going spiritual with this one.
Or my favorite at 01:14 - “uses his god-like body to clear the way”
It's because "kami", with no context, can mean either God or Paper, so it creates funny scenarios like this :P

Japan is actually 13 hours ahead od Eastern Standard time and based in when this was posted it would have been between 10-11 AM their time which is a logical time for the overview trailer to have been posted.

In every way, yes. This game genuinely looks like it’s going to be better than it was the first time. And with every fiber in my being, I have to believe that this harkens a new age for incredible paper mario games!

Looks like they managed to retain the gameplay of the Pianta Parlor while tweaking the presentation enough to fit within rating guidelines, as well as calling back to Mario 3. Very well done.

The fact that this was one of the games that I wanted remade(since they started making remakes since the 3ds era; like Luigi’s mansion, xenoblade etc) this is one of the games I’ve always wanted remade. I remember playing this on my GameCube and was one of my favorite games! After years of waiting we finally have it 🥲🥲

@@SapphireSolstice67this game can be a nightmare to run on emulators because of a very specific visual effect that isn’t supported on a lot of graphics card. You can’t progress past the first 20 minutes of the game if that bug occurs so having it available on switch will prevent the frustrating emulation issues.

Can we just appreciate the fact that the new battle theme is actually a banger and they extended the loop with new parts and it sounds like something from Origami King now?

That "new song" is a new redition of the main battle theme. Like Origami King, it seems each area will have its own version of the battle theme now. That one sounded like it was for that spooky area.

I really hope they restore the missing Beldam/Marilyn/Doopliss fight that was supposed to be in Riverside Station.
I mean, this is a remake, so it makes sense that they would put the (hopefully) previously cut battle against Beldam, Marilyn, and Doopliss at Riverside Station to make the game a bit longer. I also love they put new content like concept art and sound test for the game!

Wouldn't the fight be a bit redundant? We fight the trio with that exact constellation of Beldam Marylin and Doopliss in Ch8 after all, and only Ch7 would separate the two battles
I figure they just cut the battle due to being too similar, or they outright moved it to ch8
the two battles would have to differ for either to be interesting, and I think they knew that
so they cut the ch6 one to make their final encounter feel more noteworthy
unless they add a new gimmick/mechanic unique to the ch6 encounter I don't see it coming back
Maybe remove Doopliss and have it just against Beldam and Marylin? Make it so they haven’t recruited Doopliss yet and have them be shocked that Vivian is traveling with Mario, with Vivian affirming that she’s sticking with her new friends.
The more chances Vivian has to punch her sisters in the face, the better if you ask me.
3:32 Are they going to use this to illustrate the Power Bounce cap? The action command response fills in slowly with each jump until it moves on to the next tier, and it fills up quicker for stronger enemies like bosses? If so that's a pretty cool way to make that mechanic finally apparent to new players

And in one of the new screenshots, there was a new GameCube badge. People think it might be for a classic music toggle
I figured there'd be an in-game music player, given how many games as of late has included that feature, but it's still sweet to see solid confirmation of it.
Honestly, the thing I’m most excited for is the music. It seems like there are more themes that weren’t in the original, and I could swear that I heard the unsettling area theme from origami king in there.
I really hope we can swap. The music sounds amazing but having both would be an absolute dream
@@twincherries6698 This right here. I _love_ the brassy sound of the remixed battle music, but it doesn't have the same feel as the original. I'm sure they'll give us an option to swap, considering it was in the SMRPG remake though.

@@squiddu Oh no, it has nothing to do with not feeling as good. In fact, as long as we can switch between soundtracks, I think it's a benefit that the newer song has a different sound to it, and like I said, I love the big band, brassy sound it has. I just think it would be a shame for the old one to be completely replaced _because_ it's unique. The fact that I happen to like it is just a bonus.

I think the first and last three Paper Mario games are in different universes. There certainly isn't much continuity between the old trilogy and the new aside from little easter eggs in Origami King.

@@NintendoSEGAreviewerthough they should also take into consideration that while Origami King had everything in its favor to sell amazingly, which it did, the TTYD remake has all the odds against it, this game's releasing at what seems to be the end of the system's cycle, we already had a beautiful Mario RPG remake released not long ago, and we've had quite the flow of Mario games since last year, if anything, the TTYD remake not selling well shouldn't surprise in the slightest, and if it manages to do super well, like Super and Origami King well, start pumping classic PM games from now on IS xd

While I'm still new to paper mario, my personal favorite were first 2 rpg games (64 and TTYD), hopefully the game after this is a *true* sequel to Thousand year door (gameplay wise atleast)

When you first played Paper Mario (1 or 2), before you played the game, did you play it because it was Mario, or did you play it because you know it was a turn-based RPG.

I’m so excited to replay this. I got this game and a GameCube for Christmas as a kid and it was one of the best Christmas ever for me. I’m so excited for the new players to experience a real true paper Mario game.

Which is good because some songs, while good, have crazy short loops. The battle theme was one of them. I remember x-naught fortress being short too
