The gravesite of the Chasam Sofer was miraculously saved in the height of the war . The other 6000 graves weren’t that lucky.

Yes its fascinating!!
Otto our guide who’s a native told us . That in the 1950’s and 60’s he was a young child . And he remembers distinctly how people on the tram car while passing this spot , would stand up and grab a pole or the chair . This out of superstition that something might happen to them.
