- Mike and Jay saw the new Chucky movie. The reboot. Not the other new Chucky movie that only came out a couple of years ago. It's a different Chucky now. But there's a new Chucky TV series coming out next year as well. That's going to be the original Chucky. The Chucky they're talking about in this video is the new Chucky. There's two Chuckys. For some reason.

I see what your problem is, you set your doll to evil....
your suppose to set to live
But the frogurt is also evil
Can I go now?
“Yeah they like to bury old junk.”
But you get your choice of topping!
I love how much Mike hates children and the elderly, considering he is an elderly manchild, himself.
Its like a self hate double dip
It's like poetry...
@@luiginastro8831....it rhymes?
What, he loves the elderly(especially laughing at their many ailments)
Mike’s like what, 73 now? Just based off the bloat and obvious hair color.
Jay: "What old man would see a Childs Play Movie Alone at 11am"
Also Jay: "I made a Pact to see every Childs Play Movie"
Also also Jay: "I'm seeing a Childs Play Movie at 11am"
On the life of my families continuation Unswear I will see this B- horror movie about demon toys.
No joke, I saw the Child's Play movie at 11am
@@jakobsanchez738 Same, hahaha. I see a lot of movies at 1030 - 11 AM it only costs 6 bucks and barely anyone is there, its great.
I thought that was amusingly hypocritical as well
"There was one elderly man in the theater"
Not a nice way to talk about mike.
Jay: "There's always one elderly man at the movies. I don't know how they ended up there." Rich: "You were my ride, Jay."
This joke is so good I legit thought it was in the video. Kudos to you sir!
How does Mike do it? Connecting every film to Star Trek?! This man is a genius
Mike’s neurons all lead back to the Star Trek part of his brain.
When a man loves a woman
To be fair, there is a fuck-load of Star Trek to connect to things.
Its pretty well known that Chucky was on Voyager
he has a conspiracy yarn board in his basement connecting every film ever made to star trek
Jay doesn't understand the irony. One day, he's going to be that old man showing up to matinee horror films. He's already halfway converted.
@@andrewdevine3920 Kevin Smith's "Tusk II: Seacow"

@@chrisdooley6468 Yeah, but RLM's subscribers actually watch their videos. Their ratio of views to subscribers is very healthy. You see some of the other youtubers and they have a bunch of subs, but they get like 10% of those watching their stuff.

What life choices have led 2 elderly men to see Child’s Play at 11 in the morning
Money
Good choices
Alcohol addiction
Here is my top 3 guesses, as to why two elderly men went to go watch Child's Play at 11 AM:
1. Alcoholism
2.A sense of disappointment in life that dwarves the tedium and hellishness of a long life not filled with alcoholism, cynicism, and comic book movies
3. Whiskey
Since when is 11 o'clock the morning?
Chucky drinking blue milk for 2 minutes straight on screen truly subverted my expectations.
Every scene was just so dense.

Jay: I saw a recent episode of black mirror with miley cyrus that SUCKS!!!
Mike: that reminds me of this one episode of star trek.
That episode wasn't the best but it was fun and entertaining. I enjoyed it
Jay: "Would you recommend the movie?"
Mike: *Suburban Sasquatch noise*
I wouldn’t

I wish Mike would bring up Star Trek more
I was worried for a while they weren't going to address the elephant in the room.
I whish they talk more about std. Our expectations were subverted.
@@j.s.t.6515 they talked about it well enough. Haha
That is not possible.
Agreed
Should've called it Surviving Edged Weapons 2.
I got more dread from the Asian charging at the camera with a machete than anything in the child's play movies.

Mike: *Brings up Star Trek again*
Jay (barely in shot): *Drinks*
17:22
RLM cast doing a drinking game for Mike's Star Trek references would explain the inherent alcoholism
Mike, holding the speech at Rich's funeral after that sweet angel was taken from us due to severe diabetes:
"This reminds me of Star Trek..."
@@miauwuff3854 "...so when Spock died in Wrath of Khan..."
I love how the most animated Mike gets in this whole review is when he's creating his own fictional situation involving an elderly person.
Fancy seeing you here
Is that a mfk gmanlives reference!!!?
I can't help but feel that this is all leading up to the discovery that the old man who's always at the 11 am horror screenings is Jay from the future.
Yeeeeep
Only he has dementia and doesn’t recognize his younger self, or the fact that’s he’s already watched all of these movies before.
It would be more poetic if it was Mike.
When they eventually rip this off you can ask for a check for 50 cents.
When Chucky said "Nobody's ever really gone" I knew that my expectations would be truly subverted.
And when chucky hid away in an island until the female lead beated chucky with a stick and chucky begged for his life, truly a masterpiece.
….okay, but seriously, does he say that? I have to ask because it sounds like something Mark Hamill would actually do.
@@DoctorPorkenfries of course he did, why would anyone on the internet lie about anything?
Poetic, it all is.
Hhhhhmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
"There's always one elderly man whenever we go to see one of these movies"
It's Jay from the future
It's me from the present
Marge! The doll is trying to kill me and the toaster has been laughing at me!
There's your problem. Somebody set this doll to evil.
Eww...dogwater!
Mike being proud job of jay and repeatedly telling he did a good job of recognizing a star trek alumnus is the cutest thing i've seen all week.
I didn't know Rich's doll had its own movie.
deathsyth8888 Rich now must be known as Chode.
- I know it may sound crazy, but my Rich Evan's body pillow tried to choke me in bed!
- You say that like it's a bad thing.
I'd watch that.
deathsyth8888
It’s the Rich Evans doll
The official Rich doll comes with a crate of Tums.
Rich's doll should have Rich's own laugh as the only sound it makes. Also, it only laughs when it's killing someone.
6:44 mike just low key throwing out free ideas for what became M3GAN
When Mike said Jay loves Child's Play movies more than him, I heard that as Jay loves the movies more than he loves Mike.
Less than 30 seconds to make a "no one's ever really gone" reference
It's the ol' standby when it comes to these "covers".
So it's the Treehouse of Horror episode with the Killer Krusty, the best version of Child's Play
I think its more the Treehouse of Horror that had the killer AI that tried to kill Homer and hit on Marge.
or the twilight zone from like 1961
Watching this reminds me of how good Brad Dourif is in these movies. The first one most notably, but I definitely think he's the main reason there are so many of these. That scene where he attacks the mom is great. Lol
Mike hates it,
Jay loves it,
There's a reference to Star Trek
We're just going through the motions on this one
Fascinating.
19:40 don't forget making fun of the elderly

Mike so proud of Jay for remembering a Star Trek movie.
You need to do a Re:View episode of the child’s play series. If Psycho can get one, Child’s play definitely can.
I'd love this honestly. I'm a huge Child's Play fan, and Jay seems to enjoy them aswell. They've all got their charm. 3 is the weakest imo, but that's just because its boring.

Aubrey Plaza should be the next guest on BOTW

Only Hollywood could convince people that a half kilo doll that walks slowly is a threat
Chucky will forever be the scariest character to me, literally scarred me as a child and still is terrifying to look at! How is this funny to you Jay !??
When I was a kid, yes. Now, no. "You god damn women drivers!" - Chucky - towards Kyle swerving all over the road - Childs Play 2. Lines like that are what makes the character great.
At 3:45 Mike was about to mention Ingrid Goes West as a counterexample but then the conversation went on and he never did.
Aubrey Plaza is amazing in Ingrid Goes West & Legion
They talk about that movie in one of the catch-ups.
The Virgin Nostalgia Critic vs The Chad RLM

Amen!
You’re absolutely right and in this case I much prefer Chad
You should invite the old man from the cinema to film a review with you, he sounds lonely and obviously likes movies, just like you guys.
I get the distinct feeling the elderly man they keep referencing is just a subtle way of dunking on Rich Evans.
You guys could probably get Max Landis back on the show now. He just cleared a lot of space on his schedule.
@@jdunnatl We can finally test out how much damage those traps will do to a real human. PS are we forgetting the time they filmed Max with mid stage Culkin? With that shitty horror tape? This has already happened....
@@jdunnatl I assume Rich's holes are always offered to guests.
It's pretty adorable if someone actually thinks Max is going to prison. He might go to "Hollywood prison" for a while, where he can't publicly work on projects, but will probably be involved behind the scenes.

Not sure if the red stuff on jays shirt gets bigger each episode or not .
He's just slowly bleeding out, and they can't stop it, so they are just recording a batch of these at a time.
Shirt is getting smaller.
Its static
"You've got red on you."
I feel like a lot of what Mike and Jay wished this movie did was accomplished in the film Megan.
13:28 Jay catches Mike's Star Trek reference without Mike saying Star Trek:
Mike: ... played by Catherine Hicks ...
Jay: Oh! Star Trek IV!
24:45 - Those last 12 seconds represents all of RLM perfectly.
These are not Mikes and Jays opinions, they are characters written by Rich Evans. Change my mind.
When Mike says "stopy-starty"...
People don't know that? They changed the actor playing Jay.
Rich can't write.
I just realized that kids nowadays probably don't even know what static is.
Is this what getting old feels like?
Yes
Yes, and it feels great :-D
I never actually noticed. If they listen to the radio, (who still does, honestly) they'd hear static.
REMEMBER CASSETTE TAPES???!!!
I feel like people who think they're old just amuse kids don't know what basic shit is.
I looked up Polaroid on Netflix after watching this episode. I'm twenty minutes in, and so far the way people keep touching camera lenses with their bare hands makes it seem appropriate that there's some murderous entity that's killing everyone.
It's sadly not Wish Upon bad, it's just plain bad, which is sad and boring. But hey, I watched it because of this video too!
@@imissimeem It was pretty tropey throughout and good god am I sick of friggin' jumpscares. But I did super enjoy the lead actress, so there is that if nothing else. Plus it was kinda cool to see Mitch Peleggi in something again.

With an unexpected assist coming in from the gunslinger doll from Puppet Master.
Nah man chucky vs Jason!
Cpt Dinosaur
Chucky uses magic too! That’s why it could be awesome to watch their powers and personalities clash.
I'm SO glad to hear that Jay is an avid Chucky fan, because I feel alone in my obsessive love of the franchise. I'm sure Jay won't read this, but I'd like to know how he, based on his subjective enjoyment and not on the films' obective qualities, would rate each film.
One day they are going to do a Re:view of the child's play franchise but it's just jay talking by himself
Type O Negative's Beatles medley is 100% the type of cover song you're looking for.
"Not to bring up Star Trek ..."
When Weezer covered Africa, they at least put in Weird Al. What I'm saying is that they should've gotten Weird Al to play Chucky.
Blessed idea
It would get confused for another Naked Gun movie.
The film clip brought what the song couldn’t
And make it weird Al but then reveal is it stands for weird ai ( artificial intelligence)
I Appreciate RLM's more positive view on the movie properly seeing it as a "Cover" Horror-Comedy of the original. It's just nice to see them accepting that it's very different from the original with the bare bones idea of a Killer doll belonging to a kid name Andy with a single mom.
nice to see mikes signature hatred of the elderly is still a force in half in the bag

The Human element to Chucky was what made the whole thing work and be interesting and have motive and Creep factor in first original
MAIN THING IS MARK HAMMIL WONT BE PULLING OLD CIG BUTTS UT ANYMORE,,,
OOOOOOOH I thought this was a 25 minute review of Kristian Harloff hanging out at Galaxy's Edge.

Oliver Platt will play Rich Evans in new RLM biopic
Oliver Platt has been in more movies as guy who explains stuff, so Rich is Platt.
At 1:30 I thought mike was going to say he likes calling them surprise mechanics instead of reboots
Mike: "You've got the safety guards disengaged, so it's kind of like a "Lieutenant Commander Data's really evil" kind of moment, where his circuits get scrambled and he's all "I'm going to kill you." That's happened a couple of times - not to bring up Star Trek.."
Jay: *quietly takes another drink*
chucky's motivation was to do whatever he thought would make andy happy and keep him as his best friend. its why he imitates horror movie slashers at one point, even saying 'i thought iitd make you happy'. also you missed how the doll did start pure and turned worse and worse over time. the guy at the beginning only turns off restrictions, not programs in evil
