Who knew that day back in the Mayfair Hotel, when you were really starting out in the UK that you would go to such dizzy heights! And still be as beautiful at 87 as you were here - God bless you JohnXX

Just saw incredible Johnny a couple of weeks ago in San Diego at his concert. I'm 66, and discovered this amazing, modest man with his heavenly voice and looks only this year. To me, he was so handsome at this age ("Just look at you, Johnny!"). I didn't have the best seat at the concert, but I could close my eyes and imagine that I was listening to the younger Johnny here in this video. Happy 84th birthday, Johnny (September 30th) and God bless you and all your fans for many years to come--Ilene in New Mexico.

Johnny Mathis did it again he was so phenomenal I actually cried 😂 I cried because all the words are so true about that one true love ❤️ that's some get it n others don't 🎀 I'm not sad that I didn't get that one person, as he put it in the words of this particular song That void or empty place in his heart ❤️ for me I don't have any void or empty places in my heart ❤️ so in conclusion I believe that I don't need that one true love ❤️ I'm good all by myself, loving so many wonderful people my family, my friends and so many others that I don't even think I'd have room to care that intensely about another human being. Great song Johnny love the way you sang it and God bless you ❤️🙏❤️

Just a gorgeous song performed so beautifully! And Gil's accoustic guitar enhances that. Johnny has amazing instincts about which songs to sing- one of the things that has kept him popular for over 60 years. He stays true to what he does best and like he said in the interview, he sings songs by the best composers and writers. I will always love Johnny! Thanks for sharing Maria- the interview is a wonderful addition :)
He is the best and always will be. I have been a fan since "Wonderful Wonderful" came out. I have been to 7 of his concerts, he calls them Performances. I actually met him once and we had a brief chat. I won't forget that brief encounter. My wife was with me. she actually "cornered" Johnny because she knew I was coming. Also, thank goodness for iTunes because I have my favorite Mathis tunes in digital form. where ever I go with my iPhone, I have all of my Mathis tunes.

Johnny is without shadow of doubt the "epitome" of modesty, humility and selflessness.. the interviwer praises him for his excellence but note how he dismisses it politely even says "hmmmm" and he instead pile on the praise to others supporting him in the music industry...very gentlemanly indeed!!! More of a British trait!!! He says its due to the wonderful songwriters...but it takes an excellent singer like him to turn a song into a NO.1 wrong singer and the song falls flat!!!
