God, with the way her parents treat her, I think she should host a benefit bbq for the victims of her fires and serve dad and stepmom as the main course. Thank you for the film, uploader!
Enjoyed this very much! Can't wait to see the others. I noticed Alice is the woman who played Louise in Dementia 13. I love that film. Anyway, many, many thanks for helping me discover 'Thriller'!!! Lily
Guys, the actor in question is Edward Platt. Before landing the role of the chief on "Get Smart", he was a fairly well known character actor. He played Cary Grant's lawyer in "North By Northwest", and perhaps more famously, the juvenile detective in the James Dean film, "Rebel Without A Cause."
"Have you ever been certain your telephone would ring in the next ten seconds? Or have you ever walked down a strange street, and had the feeling, that you KNEW what lay beyond the unturned corner? Yes? Then you've had a brief encounter with the world of the unknown-- you are ready for the actual human experience that follows....."
Max! I don't believe this! You set that woman on fire! Er, sorry about that, Chief. I better use my shoe phone. To call the fire department? No, the insurance company (laugh track machine goes off). MAX!
This guy who's the dad in this thing was also on an episode of Boris Karloff's "Thriller" and I think an instalment of "Voyage To The Bottom 0f The Sea".
The young male actor at the beginning being questioned, the same one who tries to rape her later, is Hampton Fancher, the guy who wrote the screenplay for Blade Runner. He's also a director (Minus Man with Owen Wilson).
tod kritzer Yes, it is probably where Stephen King got his inspiration for FIRESTARTER.Everyone seems to think it was Carried, as I did, but I looked it up after I saw your post 😡
At 15:28, does the aunt say, "Why you ungrateful bitch"? I know the television censors would not allow such language in the early 1960s. However, I must say, out of all of the OSB episodes, this has the worst acting I have yet to see in this series. The stories/plot lines were always good, but the acting seemed to be a hit and miss with OSB.
+Zoltan Korda I found the original script from the old Script Vault at Cayuga. If you listen very carefully she says, "Why you ungrateful thing!" You're right, the word "bitch" would not have been allowed on 60's television.
+1000vox Thank you so much for your research. That was very kind of you. I knew I had to have misunderstood what was said. Now I know where to go when dialogue is unintelligible.
I've watched 3 diff episodes of this show and enjoyed all of them. This show is much more deeper/darker than the Twilight Zone
One Step Beyond all documented report it's nothing like the Twilight Zone which are made up
My, favorite show when, I was a small child in the 60's..
Aww bless:))
Anthony Benta sending my love big bro. Blessings to you. Lol your sis jocelyn...
jocelyn moore ❤💋

They're All Gonna Laugh at You!
Ed Platt rocks! The character actors of that era were sensational.
+Cynthia Lyman So true. Ed Platt is great as are many of the other character actors of that time.
+crystalheart9 Yes, indeed.
Evil Aunt Mildred is played by Olive. Deering. She also played in "Samson & Delilah" and The Ten Commandments". Great Actress!
Thanks for uploading this great show! Loved it as a kid and it scared me so much :D

A shame so many great old films have lost their quality. Too many to name.
I loved this show when it was a first run program. The fact that I can watch it now is such a treat!

Thankyou for sharing .love these old classic series 👌

" Setting a fire is no laughing matter..unless YOU did it". (2:20).
I thought I was the only one who noticed that .
@@amyntut meaning he might be guilty if he finds it a joke.
The acting back then was so much more believable and enjoyable than now .
Glad you enjoyed it. This show scared me too :)
In 1971 I was 6 and watching this on a 25 inch Zenith FREAKED ME OUT.
I wonder if this episode inspired Stephen king's "Carrie" at all
I enjoyed this one also. Thanks for posting.
Great stuff! And obviously this is where Stephen King got some inspiration.
thanks for the memories this show use to scare me and it still does I think its the music but this is a great show
Carrie !!!
FireStarters do exist some people have the power to cause fire
That was so good
The disgruntled stepmother stowed her liquor bottle in the laundry basket; she knew it was the one place in the house nobody else would bother with.
The dad should have discussed things with his daughter under the Cone of Silence.
Well, if you remember, he was never a fan of the Cone of Silence himself.
lol
Fantastic Series.
No need to rub two sticks together, just call forth Alice.
Wow The Chief from Get Smart
Interesting !
Max! I don't believe this! You set that woman on fire!
Er, sorry about that, Chief. I better use my shoe phone.
To call the fire department?
No, the insurance company (laugh track machine goes off).
MAX!
the seeing all the old actors
Stands to wonder if Stephen King might have got the idea for his screenplay, Firestarter which starred Drew Barrymore?
This guy who's the dad in this thing was also on an episode of Boris Karloff's "Thriller" and I think an instalment of "Voyage To The Bottom 0f The Sea".
The ability to render justice with fire, should happen more often.
Aunt Mil is creepy, almost as creepy as the clown in "The Clown" or the face in "The Face."
Firestarter.
It's the first film I see before King's Firestarter.
Ah, a witch! lol
The dad was the Chief on the old Get Smart TV series.
Reminds me of "Carrie"
I think "If You See Alice" is scarier.
Carrie's great grandmother, Alice.
the dads chief from Maxwell smart
Carrie, oh Carrie....
+Madder Hat They're All Gonna Laugh at You!
***** LOL....!
ya wonder where carie came from love the oldies the originals
The young male actor at the beginning being questioned, the same one who tries to rape her later, is Hampton Fancher, the guy who wrote the screenplay for Blade Runner. He's also a director (Minus Man with Owen Wilson).
Then Alice gave birth to Carrie ;)
I notice a lot of these old shows have a lot of slapping going on! Lol
The brunette is Sandra Knight....Jack Nicholason's first wife.
I'm guessing Steven KIng was channeling this episode, when he wrote 'Firestarter & Carrie' Note the undertone of lesbianism.
+Paul Fogliani I, too, thought that Mr. King was probably found inspiration from this episode :)
What undertone of lesbianism? Just 2 actresses playing roles much younger than themselves in a more innocent era.
Alec Foster just friends before American people became filled with hate.
The sound quality on this was far to bad to make it worth watching
Get a hearing aid Jo.
No, definitely worth watching. This is one of my two favorites (both with Luana Anders in a leading role).
people seem to think its her stepmom..I think its her aunt that was giving her hell
she calls her auntie
What a jealous stepmother .
Spontaneous combustion, anyone?
Remember when we could walk arm an arm with our sister or friend. Now if you even walk with a person of the same gender people assume. 🔥 🔥 woo
Sad.
30 somethings, I mean, teenagers these days, sheesh.
can anyone say Carrie?
meets firestarter

the 'school girl' looks like a grown woman acting like she's a girl.
That's the best way to get a man!
Especially if they have the right school uniform.
Bob G If she can chew solid food, I can get her in the mood! (just jokin').
why have such an older woman play a teenager alice,
ann a woman
COLOUR
al is woman not young at all lol
