Wow Eva, your friend is a natural born talented teacher!!! She has a passion for teaching and is excellent at it!!! She should do this more often!!! She's also a very good ballerina too!!!! This reminds me so much of when I first went en pointe. Even though it was 16 years ago, I still remember those beginning exercises. Lots of relevés, bourrées, and trying to get over your box.

You need to schedule a video with Josephine of The Pointe Shop CZcams channel You are having trouble getting over your box and the shoes are not helping. I bet you could create a great video together to cross-promote AND get yourself some better fitting shoes.

Loved this ballerina teacher she is very patient and explain and demonstrates really well, if you keep investing on these kind of basic exercises you'll get good good really fast! I'm loving these type of videos as well!

I feel like the vamp of your shoes is too high for your foot, it also looks like the shape of the box is a little too tapered for you as well

Aside from Ballet, I wonder if Eva would consider any other kinds of dance? I went from ballet to Irish Step Dancing as a child. It was so much fun, but ballet definitely gave me much of my discipline and basics.

It seems like, with most things physical, we have to work on the core A Lot when we first start.
So beautiful! I do think you would benefit from darning your pointe shoe for that little bit of extra stability😊 also you could press Down a bit on the box so it molds a bit better to your foot and breaks a little bit better and helps you get over the box. No hate just some tips❤ you are so good for a beginner

Back in Hell’s Kitchen, I had a neighbor who was a dancer. She did ballet, jazz, tap, chorus line, just as I did. She helped me hone my skills, especially ballet pointe. I’m grateful to her for that and wish her the best.

Loved this video. My nsho has always been... don't. Yeah, I take all the fun out of it I guess. Except not really... hey, I'm funs.
But...
.... imnsho, don't put little ones en pointe until... blah blah blah etc etc etc. And don't put adults who have had little to no ballet anything en pointe.
But your video nudged me a bit to, aw, shucks. Be more flexible (me).
Still, when asked, I'd really encourage to not do that until some fundamental thing is accomplished by the student. Like, when one can balance on half toe, like strike a position and immediately let go of the barre, and stay. And stay. And stay. Then maybe, maybe core training may be seeping thru enough to understand... ballet is the awesome-nest thing ever, and it is also really hard to have it getting into your bones.

Yeah, pointe requires a lot of strength. It takes time to build these muscles. Put in the work, it will eventually pay off. ❤🩰💪🏻
