I found a funk 45RPM record from the mid 80's that was a part of this series by Budweiser, where local bands would turn in reel-to-reel tapes for a record deal and cash prize, and I found it for 3 dollars in a record store bargain bin, when I got home I saw it actually was never sold on Discogs, but from where I looked, the lowest price it sold for was *600-700 dollars* on various vinyl auction websites. The song is called "The Wizard" by Finesse from 1984. Really good boogie funk jam, definitely a holy grail of mine.
My holy grail was a stroke of luck when going through my military training. A record store over in Georgia undervalued a copy of Frank Ocean Blonde for about $50 bucks, I was quietly trying to hold on my laughter as I purchased it then brought it home to find out it was one of the original Black Friday copies which highest price on discogs is about 1.2k now
I’ve also got Peggy’s AMHAC, BH and the Injury Reserve records to boot

To me I have two, I guess:
- Panchiko - D>E>A>T>H>M>E>T>A>L, the orange edition of 2021. I got it for like 30$ + shipping. Is going by now at 95$ avg., 110$ max. Is a very weird release because it had an issue with the cover (the band logo wasn't printed) and they sent the faulty one, with a correct one and signatures of all the band members.
- Luxury Elite, SAINT PEPSI - Late Night Delight, the Blue & Gold release of 2022. I discovered vaporwave way after its fade out, but man, this record blew my mind. I got it for like 29$ + shipping. By now, is going 75$ avg, 100$ max.

Same thing happened to me with AMHAC. Got it for 40 bucks, and now it has doubled in price

I also have autographed color vinyls: Dorian Electra Flamboyant, The Weeknd After Hours, Kali Uchis Isolation, Laura Marling Song For Our Daughter, Dua Lipa Future Nostalgia, and Sigur Ros () [by the entire band]
I have a few records that have significantly increased in price over the years but my current highest is Fort Minor's Welcome. Each sleeve for this release was hand painted by Mike Shinoda as part of a large mural and I think I paid approx £150 for it at the time, it seems to have only sold once on Discogs for £410 and there is one currently selling at £1332.06 which is insane!
Some honourable mentions are;
KOAN Sound & Asa - Sanctuary (1st pressing in blue and one of five of the test pressings), bought for £30 each and currently selling between £180/£361 for the blue one and no sales for the TP.
Culprate - Deliverance (1st pressing/gold pledge version), bought for £60 and seems to be around £274+ for the specific version.
Never thought I'd see any of these increase that much when I bought them but here we are.

As soon as I saw the video title, I was reminded of how much I've been aching for TDS NIN vinyl, unfortunately true reprints of it aren't circulating and its one of their greatest albums (for most their #1) so the $300 dollar price range is very hard to justify.
Me trying to find Lovage on vinyl. One album, $3000. Without Mike Patton or Jennifer Charles vocals? $800. And there was six copies in a basement somewhere in Edinburgh. That's my character arc.

I found a 1963 second pressing of the beatles first album released in America, in Birmingham Alabama
I owned an original vinyl pressing of Frank Ocean’s Blonde, but ended up selling it for $500 a few years later when I was hard strapped for cash.
Now, I think the most expensive records in my collection are some of my Lil Ugly Mane and Swans albums

i got the MGMT "in the afternoon" vinyl from their website when they were teasing a new album out that never full released and it was like $25 but now it goes for like $90. not my most expensive but probably most profit
I have a 7 inch vinyl of Esprits ( aka George Clanton) debut ep Summer Nights. Which for resale, cost around $200
I got BtTIGtP on smoke vinyl mint and sealed for $150 on discogs. Been dying to get my hands on the red one. One I forgot was Young Fathers “Heavy Heavy” signed and numbered 2/500

Wolf (10 year anniversary box set)
I also snagged one of those purple In Tongues pressings with a slightly creased jacket for a steal, but definitely more than retail. My other two most valuable are probably deadmau5's while(1

I spent about 80 bucks each on Electric Wizard's self titled and Witchcult Today records
I got that same Jim James and BROCKHAMPTON vinyls. Check Peyton Berry on that list of names.
Maps by Billy Woods & Kenny Legal, because I wanted it so bad, and I live in Denmark, it ended up being the most expensive vinyl I have purchased at 94 bucks
Bootlegs are as real as official pressings, if not more real, especially if they contain material that would otherwise never be heard, such as rare live recordings.
"A Gift From The Underground To A Flower / Moonshine Superman" by Donovan is one of the coolest records I have ever acquired!

The Caretaker released vinyl for EATEOT and I bought all 6 of them for around 200 in total, and sold everything for like 1500 bucks. Best sale I’ve made so far.

my prized possession is my sealed BTTIGTP first pressing in black only 500 vinyl made. if im not mistaken i bought it before the album even came out or shortly after because i just knew it was gonna be fantastic and go down in history. dont know if it goes for much but id never sell it regardless.
