The genre you should try to do should absolutely be ambient music
how tf does this say 4 days ago?

Play four solemn notes add reverb you've created a masterpiece
paulstretch, done
i started a vaporwave project in 2017 as a joke for the same reason, posted it in the vaporwave subreddit, and made more money than i ever had with music i actually put effort into -.-
can I just say this video's style is amazing man, the cassette tape cutaways and the stylized guest portion go unbelievably hard
Barber Beats =Chopped and screwed RIP DJ Screw
Using noise to transition each track makes me wonder how much you could change these challenges by forcing yourself to incorporate the past challenges, with about 5 challenges you have a completely new sound we haven't heard before
I’m surprised that besides their inclusion in some of the background music there was no mention of death’s dynamic shroud, the vaporwave electronic band so high effort their music isn’t even vaporwave anymore😂
I praise them enough
there’s a whole bunch of genres you could do this for but I feel like the logical next step is probably ambient
Wait how did you get that footage of me? I don’t remember making this
Didnt you listen I said I found it in red lobster
im glad you're makin this a series, i loved the noise music one
The next one should be Midwest emo, your favorite
What's wrong with that genre?
@@antlerman7644I love Midwest emo but honestly as an enjoyer of that genre I can fully understand why people would hate it
but isn’t that hard to make
🤮

hey, vaporwave artist here. let me explain something.
thats not how to do "proper" classic vaporwave, thats merely slowing it down and reverbing it! in order to make actual classic vaporwave, you first need to find a sample with the perfect aesthetic (preferably 80's), find a decent ytmp3 converter, and download the file and import it into the daw. then, you want to find the key you want it to be in, and stretch it exactly to that key. then, add a tiny sprinkle of reverb and/or delay. then, use a parametric equalizer to filter out the high-end (you're gonna want to go for ~10kHz) so it sounds more filtered and "retro". then, you're going to add some slight phaser, flangus, and vintage chorus for that poly style effect. also, add automation to some things such as compressors, filters, etc.., then once you do all that, you need to master the entire track and export it to your designated file, and release it onto whichever streaming platform you desire, and properly market it to your audience.
THAT is how you make classic vaporwave.
looping is optional
I feel like vaporwave is left up to one’s interpretation. There shouldn’t be any strict set of rules that you HAVE to follow to be successful.
Vaporwave can be anything in my opinion. Yeah there is the original sound you described but vaporwave us evolved into so many subgenres, it could be anything with any resemblance to nostalgia.
massive cope. youre lazy and your genre is a joke/meme/gimmick..
I knew it was just a matter of time for me to find a channel; that does this... my friends and I have been making up albums since the 80's ... some are spoofs, some are 'lets make it better' but they all have been in the spirit of this example you presented!!! Pure fun and showing how simple some things can be.... Thanks man for validating our group of 'Pirates"!
“stylized lowercase cause im mysterious” 😭
i laughed so hard the moment i heard barber beats lol
fr that was gold 😂
duuude i LOVE the way this is shot and edited.
we gotta keep this genre alive bro
heyo, some random guy here, I'm guessing from your comment you might know your way around the genre a little? I've heard vapourwave before a few times and think it's really cool, but I've never really found anything that strayed much further from being a machintosh plus remix. Are there any good places to go to find something more original, a particular song or album or something that'll get me deeper into the genre? If you do, please let me know, and thanks for reading anyway if you don't
@@maximusthedude8305 you can find some good artists similar to "a bloodsport" like Oblique Occasions, slowerpace, and other artists, I know a bit about the genre and I really dig the sound.
@@maximusthedude8305death dynamic shroud is really good, yes;we're open is a solid album, and blank banshees projects are good
@@25_Cats_in_a_Trenchcoat yoo, thanks so much dude. Appreciate it, will check them out
@@maximusthedude8305 pad chennington is a good channel with vaporwave content too
Yo, got randomly recommended this while surfing youtube for music and I really love your style and humor! Loved the presentation a whole lot and the way you did the collab bits like you were just passing the mic to your buddy was actually kinda endearing in a way haha. I will say I'd have preferred you made a full track rather than mostly sticking to samples, but I still learnt a lot more about the genre and was entertained which is what really matters. Gonna go check out your other content now! And Kyle's!
Been watching you for while now, The quality of your video just doesn't go down, hoping for your success and growth
This channel is the greatest hidden gem I have found
I listened to the album, and while it sounds good, it doesn't give vaporwave vibes tbh. It's definitely just a slowed and reverbed album, not even giving barber beats vibes really.
I LOVE THE FRANKJAVCEE CALL BVACKK UGHH
"I thought it'd be a FrankJavCee video."
That caught me so off guard holy hell
Honestly 😂
This is an incredibly solid video, keep it up brother!
EP is marvellous! well done.
Good video. I'm gonna listen to the EP now!
I mean anything is easy if you know how to do it, right. This is definitely easier than writing a jazz album but you still need a keen understanding of the aesthetic, sound design, make good choices around sample selection etc. Music doesn't need to be difficult to be good.
you clearly have never met jazz musicians
found the vaporwave "artist"
Super awesome video. Love your style. The art goes hard.
No way you got Kyle
Loll i definitely hopped on the "a *random-noun*" name to be mysterious with my music. Great vid!🍄
this is such a cool video!
mad underrated
Great tune over the album cover section
i make music so watching the process of releasing a project is always rlly fun
Wow,as a vaporwave fan, barber beats artist and vaporwave vinyl collector, I’m glad the hobby of vaporwave vinyl collecting finally made it too a bigger audience! Great video
Musique Concrete probably a good one to do next. Just go stand at a crossing…😅 seriously though I love the whole “anything is music” attitude.
Damn what a collab
I used to joke with my friends about how easy VW was to make and get praise for. It's more about presentation than it is substance. If you can get a cool album cover with some cool song names, it hardly matters what the songs actually sound like. I got on 2 cassettes, published a few albums and still get small sales here and there to this day on bandcamp. Did all my "songs" on fuckin' Sony Vegas. Don't get me wrong though there are some genuinely great and original artists in the genre!
Edit: Watched the video and seems like you're saying the same thing about presentation etc.
Jake let me in your bucket its cold out here!
PLUH🔥🗣️🗣️🔥🔥🗣️🗣️
14:30 this is how ai should be used when making art
such a great video
I would love a Minimal Techno video at some point. Reason being, it’s name might sound like it could be easy, but actually making it can be tough at times. I’m open to giving some pointers and suggestions for albums and songs to listen to.
Seconding this request!
Great 😊
frankjavcee reference legendary fr
i literally rolled ym eyes when he said barber beats XDDDd
Before I watch, I just want to say I have learned a lot from creating vaporware on my DJ Controller with Serato. I don't think that is the norm, but the way that method lends itself to rerecording sent me down several vapor holes of experimentation. Like on my Naperwave songs based on Naperville, IL, I found it was actually very difficult to finish a song. I find the genre fun in how important the order of the songs are, on an album or playlist
what if you did lowercase music? (or IDM would also be good)
By the measure of "almost", everyone almost got a record deal.
It was on that dartboard, but lofi hip hop beats would be pretty funny to do in this series. almost all of it sounds the same, so you could probably do it
Lol you're confusing youtube lofi with actual low fidelity music
Was this video perchance directed by Wes Anderson? I love the editing/cinematography of this video!
Jake this is amazing brother
Thanks Crime Dog
Next genre should be folktronica
Folktronica is actually incredibly hard, probably the hardest plunderphonic genre to get good at unless youre doing something similar to The Avalanches lol
Second attempt: Dreampunk or Mallsoft - I'd love to see those!
mallsoft is a subgenre of vaporwave
@@pleyadians as well as dreampunk. so?
@@pleyadians Catsystemcorp basically made that genre.
goated
This was too funny
damn good video
I just ordered a copy of pulse demon on vinyl
0:40 I was expecting an explosion sound with that self clap.
lolll amazing. this basically an Uncle tape 😂
It might be easy but its still good. I dont see the problem
why did i feel like i heard a secret
Wasnt that "love is blue" sample used on Mouse and The Mask by MF DOOM and Danger Mouse? Or am I recalling a heatstroke hallucination?
how about "I make technical deathgrind to prove it's easy"? Has a nice ring to it, no?
Pad chennington
Omw to read jakes bucket.
Bro is it just me that thinks the album is genuinely really good?
it's ok it's just been done to death 😭
if you take an already good song and just pitch it down and add some effects its still going to be good. thats why vaporwave is a joke, and lazy.
frankjavcee reference!!!
Make breakcore please. Or speedcore
Honestly I don’t think he’d be able to make authentic breakcore
This new video style gives me wes anderson vibes
He stole my color grade for asteroid city, I genuinely think it’s the same
Lol same
"ALMOST"
9:30 Bro I think this is the =3 intro sample lmao
I wont lie i was super expecting a frankjavcee video and got disappointed when it wasn’t then you mentioned him at the end of it and it satisfied me
18:00 i’m getting angry video game, nerd vibes from this part
Aloe City & Barber Beats
Vaporwave is sick, there’s just too many ppl making the easy stuff.
It needs a come back. There’s a lot of great music in the genre. Take a break from all music n just surf through what it’s got n find so much good stuff with 0 views/listens
agreed. Most of it is trash but the good stuff (like George Clanton, for example) is some of the best electronic based music out there imo
VIDEO IS IN 4:3 LETS GO
Now, do it again sampleless. Beat those barbers ☻️✂️🤛
Hey Vanitas!
@@timefragment5387 heyo whatsup!!!

Glad we got a man of culture using Aesop as background music
i'm sorry but i can't stop looking at the face on the mic for the whole video
derelict megatower with 84 whole tracks:
The funny part is how it actually sounds good tho.
Please do a video talking about Deaton Chris Anthony. His music is so sick and needs more attention
I want to make a vapourwave album and call it something cool
Boy do I have a video for you
@@ABucketofJake no fuckin way
I really like barber beats and (I’m an idiot) did not realize it was all samples lol. Besides odd sound effects and transitions, will FL studio allow me to create my own entire pieces ?
Yes
@@ABucketofJake keep up the dope shit homie peace from NY
Which ai art generator do you use? It looked so good
DALL-E, I believe.
im trying to make a jungle album and its kinda hard, maybe i should switch and try to be the next oneohtrix
we need more bloodsport
you should do ambient music
Please make a vid on slushwave
How long did this take to make?
Searching plus editing, probably 2 hours, finding the tracks is what took the longest
Next should be breakcore
You should partner with qingdao market for thr cassette release
n i c e....
All the songs you chose are from the 70's, so this is less like Vaporwave, and more like Boomerwave. It's like being in the 70's listening to the radio on Quaaludes.
Dope vid. Try shoegaze.
Instrumental hip hop
vaporwave can be low effort but there are styles that actually require composition and arent just stealing like macentosh plush
Do jazz next
Do sludge rock as the follow-up ;) =]
im tryna make a song with bro
