Did the video make you think about going outside to catch some sun? Or did you click on the next episode of "The Infographics Show"?
Oh um....hi?
I moved to VadsĂž up north in Norway this year to experience the polar night and the northern lights. The darkeness doesn't make me feel more depressed, but the afternoon naps might become longer than they should if I'm not careful. I have however gone back home for Chirstmas and have seen the sun, but I had a month 18.11 to 22.12, with total lack of sunrays. But I noticed that I missed the sun, and all the dreams I remembered were very sunny. I think I would be able to go a year, but it would be awefully good to see the sun again after that year had passed.
The Infographics Show no because its night
Dude that would so suck on all scientific level
What about people that are allergic to the sun :(
For some reason , cloudy and rainy days makes me happy AF.
yeah me too
Yes me too. Sun makes me depressed and moody
Da Boo omg yea!

Brown I feel you!
Hello darkness my old friend...
Because a vision softly creeping
And the vision that was planted in my brain
Still remains,
Within the sound..... Of silence.

I see you before

Are you dead
So my seasonal depression would become just depression đ
ok
B. Bayella depression isnt that serious
Everyone feels some form of depression
Youre not special neither am i
Thats how you cure depression
Stephen Miller while your logic is fair it's also unnecessarily cold. No we aren't special (cosmic dust in the wind and shit) but to say depression isn't that big a deal is similar to saying it about car accidents. They happen a lot, aren't always lethal, and are kinda just an expected part of life. They are still a big issue. Also it really isn't that easy for some people.
Stephen Miller you are wrong
lol people take things too seriously
*I was diagnosed with* _S A D_
I get it in the summer.
Thatâs pretty *S A D*
lmao
Oh no.
Youâre corny
2018: How long have you gone without sun?
2020-21: Hold my beer...
lol
I mean we still got sun
I live in Finland for 4 years now, and when I first moved here, I didn't know that lack of sun can cause vitamin D deficiency. I spent around 4 months without sun and my hair started to fall off in chunks, I got depression and it was unbearable, my bones were hurting, only after talking to my Finnish friends I got properly informed that I should get the vitamin D supplements. Even Finnish people get really sad and depressed during the winter, so I don't think you can really get used to it, if even people who were born in Finland get very depressed. Ways out of depression and health issues in Nordic countries are doing sports, eating healthy, get busy with working, studying or anything that interests you and of course vitamin D supplements.

Did it grow?
@@atrophos4104 it did.
I would love to live in a city that doesn't get much sun. I prefer gloomy, cloudy, and rainy days. So much better than the sun. However, I live in Las Vegas where the sun usually means uncomfortable heat.
Come to London
@@jason38800 Why? London is the place in the UK with the warmest, one of the driest and sunniest places in the entire UK. I live in London and it's too dry and the winter hardly gets any snow. We got an extreme heatwave last year.
I don't need sunlight, I have CZcams.
even better i have CZcams *d a r k* theme
@@blankface.34 đ€Łđ€·đœââïž
I really despise the sun, so those places where nights can last an entire winter sound really appealing to me.
Same, and I also happen to be a night owl as well.
Sun and winter don't go together with me.
At least people won't complain about how hot summer is
It's too fucking cold then
finnman653 Lol I wish my country had that problem
I'm sensitive to sunlight, so I spend most of my time indoors. If I do go outside, I cover up, use an umbrella, or stay in the shade. I also suffer from depression and suicidal thoughts. I don't know if it's related to the sun or not, though.
đ€ŠđœââïžYES GET MORE SUN
I don't think so. If anything, it's healthy to avoid the sun, although keep in mind that I'm saying this from my experience as a vampire.
Do you have Vitiligo or suffer from albinism? Cause unless you suffer from some problem, you should get a 15 minutes sunbath everyday in early morning, or late afternoon. Is why having a dog helped me, cause I need to walk him everyday
@@taynahibanez9952 I have vitiligo and was also on medication that increased my sun sensitivity! I've since gone off that medication and have been soaking up as much sun as I safely can :D
@@ProjectAlci Thank you for sharing your experience. I am glad you can go under the sun safely ^_^ Many happiness for you!
If I could stay in my apartment for a year I'd be happy. My record for not seeing sun is 9 days. It was awesome!
Same here. I hate most humans and the sun as well. Summer makes me depressed and I stay home all day. In winter Im happy and want to go out lol.
My record is two years and it's not awesome for me.
I'm getting weaker day by day, my bones hurt all the time, i can't walk perfectly and I'm just 17 year old and my parents don't give a f** about me
9? Haha cute
What are these replies?
â@@purplesky237Dang are you okay?

Czech Republic- during the winter at the end of the school day, it looks pitch black outside lol
Yeah it's the same in Finland, It's already dark outside and its 15.20 hahah
Same thing in northern Canada. You're only outside when it's dark out and schools cut out all natural light
I canât imagine going to class in complete darkness outside.. I live in New Jersey and even in the winter itâs not completely dark at 7am when I get to school. Iâve been at school at night, after like 6pm itâs completely dark in the winter, but classes end at 2:15 so Iâve never gonna to a class in the dark
Isnât that just the UK?
TheMarioManiac Not really, only the northern part and Wales.
True itâs fucking raining everyday in London
Planet Gaming lol, when I first visited London in April the sun was shining bright
The Netherlands is cursed by rain
basically
Nothing bad will happen. I've legit spent two years without sun. Avoiding sun at all costs with hoodies and all that. I was and am fine
well thatâs because you most likely had your hands and face uncovered. uv rays can bounce off surfaces and regardless youâre still getting sun
Same. I also always use SPF 100 sunscreen. I do take vitamin D supplements, though.
*For a person who loves the dark i would really like this to happen.*
Wait you want to die?
So I stopped going outside long time ago, and It has been already a year... Like my skin is so itchy, and I feel sleepy too. I am starting to go outside and I'm feeling A LOT better! I just feel the warmth of the sun on my skin! I am feeling definitely happy!
how long did you go without sunlight and do you think the lack of sun was causing the itchy ? this is me for the past year I only left 2 or 3 times per month ..
Same,I think it's almost 3years after graduate from high school..1 year and half...work as chef in the kitchen without sunlight and another 1 year working night shift without going outside even off day never go out, even at home I'll cover the window to not getting any sunlight...my skin getting worst like itchy, irritated and more when morning comes... in highschool I'm an athlete,I loved to expose myself to the sunlight, it's opposite
Are you sure that normal teenagers donât do this
I do it but I understand that I need to go walk for a while
Iâm a teen and Iâm always outside. Iâm tanned and burned
Shitt I live in cali and am in summer break rn I haven't felt sunlight in a little more than 2 months. Good thing I start in 2 weeks.
Im a teen from MI, so I appreciate sun every once in a while. I'm wary of it now tho Bc I've gotten sun poisoning
SmokeyTube Yeah, they stay up all night jacking off.
âA lack of sun leads to depression.â
Iâm the opposite. Summer makes me mad. Iâll take overcast over a sunny day any day.
Same. I found myself much happier up north in Seattle during the fall than here where it's usually sunny and miserable.
As someone who lives in London I agree.
The weird thing, Iâm happier when itâs âgloomyâ and I get sadder when itâs sunny
Millie W You and everyone else who thinks theyâre edgy lol.. youâre in control of that, youâre choosing to be âhappyâ when itâs dark. You get less vitamin d so it literally has to be a fake placebo effect
Sunshine?! Bah! In my day we had to walk miles just to find sticks to rub together. That was our sunshine, and we liked it that way!
Lmao this episode seemed a little more aggressive than most others đ "go home, cancer is not a level of tan" "sharpen up their cutthroat razors come fall"
âHow long have you last without sun?â I live in Florida, that answers everything.
I donât know why, but when itâs sunny outside, Iâm always in really bad mood, however the rain makes me happy
Sounds like living in my Sister's basement...

When i was stationed in spokane WA we would go many weeks without sunshine. there was a room with a UV lamp on base to fight depression, no joke.
I started suffering from seasonal depression 4 years ago. That was the first tome Iâve ever experienced depression and I couldnât identify why I was feeling such a way. I realized the following winter that I go through seasonal depression.
I keep myself extremely active to pump some endorphins, but I canât say I donât feel a bit down/gloomy during the dark months!
Same. Itâs been a constant cycle for me every year. Itâs always around Feb-march to November-December. Plus added stress and anxiety makes it worse đ„Č
"Sharpening their cutthroat razors.."
can u not
Yea that was kinda unecessary
Lol did no one catch that he said âlarnexâ instead of âlarynxâ @5:31
This bothered me more than I'm willing to admit.
Sunny days for sports events. No sunny days when I have to work. No one gets to enjoy a sunny day if I have to work!
For some reason when it's winter my happiness rate goes rly rly up. I finally get to enjoy life but in summer I feel sooo unproductive, depressed and sad
To me I get depression only during summer. I hate the sun so much. The heat makes my autoimmune disorders worse as well. I could do without summer.
In southern England where I live, I remember last winter I would see day light by 8am but it would get dark by 4pm, but during the limited daylight the sky would be covered in grey clouds and it would rain.
During that winter I felt gloomy and had a lack of motivation, I kept thinking about the summer and was looking forward to the sun. It only snowed properly once. Though Christmas was fun that made me feel jolly. đ
Did anyone else catch when he said "larynx"? Have i been saying it wrong my whole life...
Iâm from TromsĂž, Norway. Like he said, Iâm used to it, and itâs nice to look at stars and the northern lights 24/7. We have this sun-welcoming day (jan 21) witch is pretty fun.
Then you see the moon, duh
The Moonlight is actually the reflection of Sunlight...
Oof
But we dont suppose to see the sun for a year so well played
Skidadle skidoodle your brain is just a noodle.
But you can see the moon in the daytime tho.
Yeah I don't think -I- *we* could get any worse with the depression
thank you for that hasty correction. i almost got my OWN ideas. How crazy is that?
I don't want to go to gulag so I subbed.

We sure love it.
Don't worry I am in gulag for a long time already
Salty Salt Ivan Denisovich?
The very short days of december, and probably the polar nights too, are okay as long as we have snow on the ground. Actually many people prefer long winter nights over the sunny summer nights because they find it hard to sleep in sunlight
I haven't get any sunlight since three months ago...
And I am still happy :D
I havent came out of my moms basement in 5 years and I'm fine.
@Bummer Drummer same lol
If becoming vampires were a thing but you could never go out in the sunlight again...I guess thats an easy clap for you two eh lol

I donât get seasonal depression, in fact in winter Iâm happiest. I love the cold.
Same. Spring and summer are pretty miserable for me and I end up spending more time indoors when it's blazing hot outside.
I suffer from anxiety and itâs actually worst in the summer. The heat, crowds, sun being up from 5 am to 10 pm actually make it all worst and I am most closed off and unwilling to hang out with mates at this time because every time I leave the house I become panicky unless I am on a bike ride.
However in autumn/winter I love the cold weather and snuggling up in blankets with a cinnamon candle lit and I can bake loads of festive treats and going to the shopping centres with all of the sparkly lights that I can just look at, it calms me and my panic attacks, while they still come around, are not common.
Itâs mad how different seasons can affect different people with different mental illnesses so strongly
Itâs kind of the opposite for me, I kind of feel down and depressed when I see the sun and love rainy days, I kind of feel like if itâs a sunny day Iâm tired and my brain is foggy but dark rainy days make me happy, creative and energised. Today is sunny and Iâm feeling pretty down.
I lived in England for 4 years. I can tell you personally itâs so true. Thereâs no sun 75% of the time and I had extremely bad depression
I should move there as summer makes me depressed. Winter makes me happy.
Woah! No sun 75% of the time! That's crazy!
I live in London, the warmest, one of the sunniest and driest places in the UK and I would love to move to Iceland for the more tolerable summers, more snow in the winter and less annual sunshine.
I live in Arizona and the rain actually makes me happy
I now know why my mom would always tell me to go outside and play everyday when I was little.
Watching from Manchester, UK. He's not wrong, the sun avoids this place, most of the time anyway.
i don't live in scotland but i've never seen that place above 15 degrees
Bradley S Davis Thats because you guys donât have souls
ìčìíBlankface. We had a beautiful 3 day summer this year... Also, do you think Manchester is in Scotland?
@@Quantumoon no i'm just saying
@@Quantumoon because he said the sun avoids this place so i thought oh! scotland
I might sound weird but I wanna live in a place where it's rainy all the time. Idk why I just like the vibe
Same. That's why I'm thinking of moving to Seattle when I'm an adult.
I myself actually experience mild anxiety when out in open sunlight so I have to go outside with a veil or coat during the mid-day & these Midwestern summers are no joke. I just flat out don't go outside during a majority of the year aside from when I need to for shopping/work/etc because I just can't. I actually get very stressed out during summer & I fucking hate it lmao. No, that sunshine crap is utter BS & I would say that just depends on the individual really.
Winter on the other hand I actually do absolutely love & falling snow is like the ultimate stress relief for me. Made me chuckle a bit when you mentioned TromsĂž because I actually have been wanting to go there for a while to see it for myself. The conditions there are almost perfect for what I would consider optimal for someone like me.
i did the year i feel so miserable its like a sink hole that makes you get deeper & deeper
Forced quarantine and it is over a year. Miss the sun. I am becoming more depressed. April 18, 2021
đ
this is me for the past year I only left 2 or 3 times per month .. did you experienced heath problems because of this ?
@@kaylac.4797 for sure shortness of breath im skinny but im always feeling tired & very dizzy
As someone who lives in a area that do not get sun from November to February.
- It is not dangerous.
- You get used to it.
If you are vitamin D deficient you can get easier depressed. So many people here take vitamin D but overall i think it is nice. Makes you really happy to see the sun after months without it.
I live in Northern Finland so the shortest day is about 3h. But it's more like a long sunrise followed by a long sunset. đ I handle it quite well, but when there's dark I constantly have to remind myself that it's not late so I don't have an excuse to be lazy yet. đ
I love the infographics show!!
UK & Antarctica: *chuckles* Iâm in danger
What about people that are allergic to the sun..?
They still see light just canât have great skin exposure. The presence of sun does a lot & the warmth does too. The issue is the pain & reaction to the sun. Some people can pet dogs even if theyâre allergic just not live with one yknow.
I work 76 hours a week on night shift. My sleeping schedule reflects this. Im only awake for about 3 hours of sunlight, But I hardly go outside for it and my windows are blocked off, I feel fine for the most part, Its been about 3 years like this.
for me it's the opposite sunny weather makes me depressed and cloudy rainy weather makes me happy
Sun makes me depressed , happier at night / I only go out at night
No crucial dosis of vitamin D for one year :D
I'd love to go see the polar night. Everyone I know thinks I'm crazy for it as they'd rather go somewhere with plenty of sunlight and high temperatures. I personally could not think of anything worse than that.
I feel the exact same way as you. How could anyone enjoy a sunny day, especially when it's hot?
Im the same. A day on the beach with lots of sun is my personal worst nightmaređȘ
I think tanned skin looked extremely weird and completely unnatural and I hate the sun and the heat and that's why I try and avoid the sun as much as I can.
I'd be happy with 50f ish and 12hrs of partly cloudy
This is pretty interesting. I didnt realize not seeing the sun can cause depression
Where I live, there is a cave system under the town that was bought by a freezer storage company. The shifts are 12-14 hours long with employees not seeing the sunshine all day long. Not only that, but because it is a cold freezer storage facility, the temperatures in the facility never go above 40 degrees Fahrenheit, and no higher than 65 outside the facility. The company was forced to start having to do mandatory company wide rec times during business hours. Like every Monday from 11-12 they would play a movie on Netflix during lunch attendance mandatory. Every Friday is ping-pong tournaments in which you didnât have to play but you had to be there. They saw that working there increased depression and stress in there employees even though it wasnât that stressful of workload really. It was because of the constant cold temperatures and little to no sunlight ever.
I live inside the house for two years never going out because I'm scared of covid. I'm doing fine.
I ain't happy, I'm feeling glad
I got sunshine in a bag
I'm useless but not for long
The fut-
HE HAS THE SUNSHINE IN A BAG, ATTACKK!!!
i hate hot, sunny days, but i love chilly, cloudy days. i still get plenty of time outside. i go on long walks on cloudy days or during the evening, or ill just stay in the shade as much as i can. the only time i wish i had more sunlight is when my houseplants die bc my window is too small for them to get enough light lol.
also, its kinda ironic how i get called depressed for disliking hot, sunny weather, but those same people who say that get mopey when it rains. i dont mope when the weathers hot, i just enjoy sitting inside a well air conditioned room instead. seems like theyre more pessimistic than i ever could be.

I lived in Lithuania, Vilnius for 15 years, they don't get much sun throughout the year. There are usually no more than 2 sunny days during winter. Usually it's always so cloudy that you can forget what the sun looks like. 14 years ago I went back to my home land, sunny Italy :)

Oh, yeah! Yuma, AZ, where no public parking had shade and everyone played in the wee hour of sunset, before 10 am, or after 4 pm.
I grew up in Las Vegas and currently live in Phoenix AZ and I think 1 year of no sun would be a nice break for a little while, not forever of course, but living somewhere where it's CONSTANTLY HOT AND SUNNY is depressing too, it's just too extreme and I live indoors for 8 months of the year, that's very depressing too, most people don't realize

The sun makes me terribly ill. I have hypersensitivity to the heat, and live in Australia which makes it even more unbearable. I cannot deal with any heat over 23c°, I will vomit, faint, have cluster migraines, and black spots in my vision and temporary blindness. I cannot take it, I would love to live in these places.
