  • "This is Master Obi-Wan Kenobi. I regret to report that both the Jedi and the Republic have fallen, with the dark shadow of the Empire rising to take their place. This message is a warning and a reminder for any surviving Jedi: Trust in the force"
    This video is very important to me since Obi-Wan has always been one of my favorite characters. He perfectly represents what a Jedi knight should be. Despite the loss of his master, the love of his life and his apprentice, he has always known how to stay on the light side of the Force. I hope that you will enjoyed this video!

      When Qui-Gonn asks Obi-wan if he’s “trained the boy yet” he could be referring to Luke. Descriptions in novels of what it’s like to become a force ghost sound disorienting. Complete detachment from all sense of time coupled with infinite understanding.
      Following his final confrontation with Maul, Obi-wan certainly seems to imply that he at least believes Luke is now the “Chosen One” the one who will bring balance to the force... destroying the Sith by refusing to fight Vader... and simultaneously exacting the Revenge of the Sith 20-30 years later by training then attempting to murder Kylo Ren, eventually ending the Jedi Order and his own life out of shear malaise 🙄

    • @alyax-
      @alyax- Před 3 lety +181

      @@chazblank2717 He was clearly talking about Anakin because he didn't even know that Luke was ever gonna exist, also it was Anakin who eventually killed Palpatine and brought Balance To The Force, George Lucas said it himself, "Anakin is the Chosen One", also in The Rise Of Skywalker (TROS) You hear Anakin say: "Bring back the balance as i did Rey."
      So yeah.

    • @chazblank2717
      @chazblank2717 Před 3 lety +24

      @@alyax- Time doesn’t seem to mean anything in The World Between Worlds, even if you’re not a force ghost... Qui Gon has become one with the Force, so his knowledge and understanding of The Prophecy, is no longer constrained by the physical limitations of space and time... his only limitation is where he can manifest. Which though it’s never explained beyond a few lines in Clone Wars is likely a limitation for all force ghosts. Luke only hears Ben’s ghost until he nearly dies on Hoth. But if you really wanna get into TROS, the idea that force ghosts can only manifest in certain places also does some major heavy lifting to explain why Luke’s ghost can hold a lightsaber on Ach-To but can’t fight Palpatine with it on Exogul. Also since you brought up the sequel trilogy, you really can’t argue that George Lucas is somehow singularly responsible for the entire creative direction of Star Wars canon, now can you?

    Obi-Wan is the best Jedi. Not because he's the strongest, because he's not. He's the best Jedi because he has faced responsibilities and burdens, emotional hurts like no other in the Order. And he took it all on, without turning to the dark side, and without losing sight of the main goal after the fall of the Jedi Order. He looked after Luke and remained alone for years, having hope that Luke would reinvigorate the Jedi once again. He is the best Jedi because he is the most human and dealt with his problems in the most appropriate and mature way. He's the Jedi that anyone would like to have as a father or a good friend.

      On the sheer importance this is to the core and outer rim fan base, im beyond certain that Lucas and Dave have made their stance on who and how this show will be written, handled, shot and what happens in post above all else. Kenobi is the second, shall I dare say it, most important and loved character in all of Star Wars. If you look at it, he is the chosen one. He brought balance to the force. He connected all the dots so they worked out so the looked upon chosen one got to where they were supposed to be. He is the living steward of the force imo. If they F up his series, they will deal with a fan storm never seen on any genre, medium or anything in modern culture ever. Seriously. The nerd fam base is so vast, we won't tale anything but perfection with what we love. Seeing how happy Ewan is that he gets to return to screen as his personal favorite played character has me happy af. Let's do the best we can as fans and not pry into to much. Let them make their show in peace and give us an experience we didn't over hype ourselves for. Appreciate the art that started us all.

But just remember, he lost Darth Maul too, and although Maul hurt him a hell of a lot, he was also like the villian to his story and after everything he went through, he lost that too. No one remembered him, cared for him, or even was just around him anymore and everyone who did those things, he lost. Honestly sadder than Anakin's story. Sadder than anyones.

Although he was fueled by the dark side he knew the sith were the ones that truly took everything from him. His final words of asking if Obi-Wan was protecting the chosen one was gave him peace in his last breaths. He died in the hands of the one he seeked revenge, yet he died almost peacefully, knowing that the Obi-Wan was protecting and training the chosen one to take down the Sith that took everything from him. Kenobi and Maul are mirror images of the other: one resides in the light and the other the dark. They’ve both been stripped of what they valued most. They’ve suffered the worst of defeats and had to go it alone for years at a time. But Kenobi always fought for and held on to hope everywhere he went while Maul never knew what he was fighting for; just fighting. That’s why he lost so easily in their last duel...in his last moments you see him desperately reach for the hope he needed...and Kenobi gives it to him. He asks if the boy is the Chosen One so he knows the suffering will end. Which gives him enough peace to die conscientiously

      We all get caught up on anakin and the chosen one when the entire story was obi wans from the beginning. People really forget the chosen one was there the entire time and that's what makes it a satire. The chosen one was meant to bring balance to the force, not fix it. Remember that. In this story the chosen one is not the one to mend the force but the one to bring balance to it, who better to bring balance to the force than the one that never knows the pressure of actually doing it. It's mf poetic.

This message is a warning and a reminder for any surviving Jedi. Trust in The Force. Do not return to the Temple…that time has past. And our future is uncertain. We will each be challenged. agreed... but also, I don’t... there’s so many spoilers in this, obviously, for one of the best character arcs that spans six movies, dozens of episodes and now an upcoming mini-series that equates to 3 two-hour movies. Obi-wan (like Anakin and Ahsoka) is too rich a character to be shoveled down like a pill. Like Skywalker and Tano, their journey of personal development from the merits they hold true, or falter upon tragedy, is so rich and nuanced (even in just the Mortis arc), that to simply introduce to a newcomer with this deftly-edited video summary would be hasty. You and I love Kenobi’s character because he entered the stage with confidence (mimicked Krayt dragon howl, turns head to camera/Artoo, lowers hood, “Hello there... don’t be afraid.”) and levity (“you’ve never heard of the Falcon?” raises eyebrows, “?should I have..?”). And we grew up with his life story slowing being presented to us, savory piece by piece. It’s near impossible to bottle that up and showcase it in just 5min, to just anyone. Aged fine wine deserves to be savored.

      @@HotezAndDaniel yeah Ewan is a GOAT too for helping flesh out the role to the potential that he did. Honestly, there isn’t anybody else that could fill the role of Young Kenobi. The great thing about the character Kenobi is that he is just this free spirited, yet troubled master. I found him interesting because he loves with all of his heart, which is against Jedi code, but despite those emotions, he never let them cloud his judgement. So he was the perfect example of how to be both, with ALL that backstory of tragedy. 10/10 character. Ewan personified all of that perfectly
