- Finally pulled the trigger on one of the dream cars! We picked up this very neglected VR-4!
The car has been sitting for years and its finally time to give it a second go at life.

Welcome to the club. Exited to see it go through the restoration process. I have 225/2000.
I would pull that bumper cover and see if it's the bumper, as you mentioned. I would take a wire wheel and find a good undercoating and cover the bottom to prevent more rust.
Regarding the gas tank, see if you can run a Galant of the same year and check the gas tank fitment.
Awesome to see another galant build on youtube! I own a '89 galant (not a vr4 because sadly we didn't get them over here) and I love seeing content on the galant's! For info and parts I would suggest heading over to the galant vr4 forum, there's tons of information over there and a lot of great people who are willing to help.

Congratulations on the gvr4...it looks like its definitely a project. Check behind the doglegs...those are notorious for rusting which leads to thr rocker panels. Look forward to see what you do with these awesome cars. They are rare...they are worth saving.
Great car and exited to see where it goes! The DSM era is slowly going away because of the evo, and parts are harder to find by the day! It's great there are people still out there willing to take the jump to bring them back! ps. Just picked up an 89 JDM vr4 that's got some issues and can't wait to get it running! If you don't mind me asking, what did you pick it up for?
My dad has a white one sitting in his backyard and has been neglected for about a decade, I’m trying to convince him to give it to me so I can build it 😂
