I'm genuinely surprised that Arin, the man who consistently doesn't read the instructions in Zelda games, was able to get the whole "Shooting yourself with a blank" concept IMMEDIATELY when most people I watch take a long time to fully get it.
He may not read the words (or remember any numbers) but he can read the _vibes_

I wanted to shit talk the dude, but Im sure the AI was smart enough to see that it was at a complete loss, and decided to go out on its own terms. Arin played very well, and Im very proud of him!

I've seen a lot of people talk about finding this game really creepy, so it's sorta funny to see the infamously jumpy Dan sit here and go "yay buddy!" like he's watching a school basketball game.

Well that's the thing right? It's just creepy, it isn't really scary or anything. Once you get past the initial "Oh we're shooting each other including ourselves" there's not much surprise left and it's just a game of russian roulette.
It's always so fucking funny when the Dealer just gets BLASTED though, god damn that's the funniest shit ever.
The abrupt cutoff for when you get shot is always really funny to me for some reason

the best part about this game is that the screen goes black when the gun is fired, and youtube is programed to place ad breaks RIGHT when that happens

Not to dampen your wonder, but pretty shortly after release, the dev patched the game to make the dealer less intelligent on the first run and more ruthless when you take the pills.
The dealer does not play very smart.
The silence from 9:44 (right after being shot) to 10:06 (right after being revived) really makes it seem like they actually got shot in real life lmao
Arin isn't against tutorials. He's against _lengthy_ tutorials. He gets the concepts and mechanics quickly so overly tedious tutorials are the worst. But a one line tutorial? He's got it on lock.
Honestly as someone with adhd i can relate. It's kinda the difference between an hour lecture and a 10 minute CZcams video if that makes sense
Given the fact that he has ADHD, this actually makes SO much sense. My husband has basically a "code phrase" that he says if someone is getting to ramble. The problem he has is that if an explanation goes on for too long, he just can't pay attention in the slightest.
If anything longer than that is too long, that's a problem.

My favorite parts of the video is whenever Arin gets shot, an ad plays. And when it ends or when you skip the ad, you revive him.
I think it fixed itself now, but that sounds like a hilarious way to watch it...

The game is about as scary as a goosebumps book ,Dan will be fine . I'm starting to wonder when dan got so scared of horror games considering when he joined game grumps arin played like 3 different resident evil games (on the channel) and Dan was perfectly fine back then🙄

Honestly his first playthrough was really impressive. A lot of people struggle with this game their first time and Arin just pulled a markiplier and beat first go.
The shot at 10:00 went directly into a bright white Adobe ad and I've never seen something line up so well
What a fun way to teach someone about statistics and probability.

One thing I love about this game is it's very effective at telling you how to play with no tutorial. Hell it's even Arin proof.
On the edge of death. and with all the tools needed, the Dealer instead decided to unload the entire shotgun into his own face.
I feel like Inscryption would be an awesome long running series for the grumps.
I can only imagine Dan and Arin's delights and despairs (also low-key Arin purposefully getting the goat eye multiple times)

If you guys didn't have won in the first playthrough, the death transition would be different. If you lose all of your lifes before the last round (without drinking the pill), the smoking guy would have defibrillated you to go play again from start.
And if you lose all your lifes in the last round.. well, you got no defibrillator left, so you get a cutscene LITERALLY GOING TO HEAVEN 😂😂 and it's all freaked up there because God is dead in this universe (or something like that, idk, I watched Pyrocynical's video on the game)
