Because they know any debate will be bad for them. They have no constitutional, legal, or popular ground to stand on with this bill beyond "We already passed it therefore it's law." Any attempt to defend it will be used against them in election advertising and guarentee a loss at the ballot box, but they so desperately want to keep it on the books because all they care about is power and control. So they are doing everything they can to try and keep the law without having to publically defend it too much, and it's all just backfiring like crazy.

I am just wondering who will support all these children being born, where will they live? In a tent with their poor mothers? The foster system is overworked in most states. I live in Oregon and I see mothers living in their cars with their children. They never get the help they were promised by the churches and pregnancy centers during pregnancy , maybe some baby clothes and spiritual counseling. Once the children are born, these women are on their own. Housing wait lists are way out for years etc etc

What I want to know is why the gallery wasn't cleared. I used to work for the Arizona State Legislature so I know the rules for the gallery. People have the right to be in the gallery and watch the proceedings. However, they are not allowed to do anything but watch.
Due to the repeal of the 18th amendment, the statement “transportation of alcohol is allowed OR abortion is legal” is true. Concordantly, due to the 21st amendment, the statement “transportation of alcohol is prohibited OR abortion is legal” is also true. Ergo, the only way for both statements to be true is for the statement “abortion is legal” to be true. Therefore, according to the Constitution of the US abortion is legal.
