    I got suspicious this was fake with that opening, but the Tonya Harding “break a leg” sealed it as a compete fake. No one in 1994 acted this way, yes people spoke of the newness of the mysterious web/internet, but they also had a genuine amazement/marvel at what connected computers could do. These guys seem bored with the new web/internet, they act like people born in the 90s that are acting up a part but without the nuanced detail of the real 90s.

      Actually, this is a spoof of a Today Show segment from 1994. They didn't get the Internet either, and seemed to find it strange. Not everybody was amazed at what connected computers could do back then. In fact, quite a few people thought the Internet was just a passing fad.

I’m curious which detail clued you guys in, but isn't it crazy how much one tiny linguistic detail can prove that the timeframe MUST be post-2001 or thereabouts ?

    The emergence of new technology will always take people by surprise! My
    bible teacher, Wayne, was born in 1931, and he told me that he thanks
    God that he never got hypnotized by the growth of television which
    started in the 1930s and exploded in the 1940s - 1950s... and video
    games... and the Internet... and smart phones, ipods, ipads,... and chat
    rooms and social media.... Wayne saw the emergence of so much
    technology in his lifetime! He told me that he father, who was born in
    the late 19th century, saw even more change in his lifetime because he
    had been born into a world where horses and wagons were still the major
    mode of daily transportation. By the 1920s, automobiles replaced horses
    and wagons, and airplanes were already dangerous weapons of warfare.
    Before his father had died, Neil Armstrong stepped foot on the moon!

      @ChristianCentury2000 Před 2 lety +1

      @@MrPancakeRepairman troll means: "a person who makes a deliberately offensive or provocative online post." I was not trolling Deaf Cassette. I was just sharing what my bible teacher, Wayne, born in 1931, told me about himself and his father, who was born in 1890. My perspective of the world is brief because I was born in the late 1960s. By the time I was born, MOST AMERICANS ALREADY had toilets, hot/cold water indoor plumbing, tvs, electric powered stoves, etc! When my bible teacher, Wayne, grew up during the Depression, there were still quite a number of Americans who still used OUT HOUSES, their parents' OLD 19th Century huge, iron stove, their parent's old 1920s Ford vehicle, and did not have the usual things we all take for granted now, like: indoor hot-cold water plumbing, electric stove and oven, refrigerator etc. Hope you and your family enjoy the Holiday Season.

    The clue that gives away this is not real despite the filter they applied over this clip... real stuff from 1994 would not have looked this clean after all this time unless they went out of their way to digitally upscale it, and that's not worth it for such a short clip that won't be sold to make a bunch of money
