Cables are old stuff, I have heard stories of people pulling it by accident. Newer quick atatch and detach systems are clearly the way to go.

I just want it ready to put on, that I have already adjusted the fit and it's ready to go, like a jacket. The only features I'm worried about are that it fits and it protects me. As far as carrying equipment, most vests are comparable. You don't buy it, if it doesn't meet your needs.

I really like my One Tigris Vulture (with sub pouch) with a Haley Strategic Flatpack. It's light, minimalist and breathable. It can carry AK mags or your M4 mags with some spots for pistol magazines.
I like it due to very little clutter and even with the rig on its own it's capable of many adjustments allowing for a snug fit for many body types.
why would you pay premium money for a flatpack just to run a chinese knockoff chest rig?

i have a dumb question: why dont they just make magazines from armour plate and have them cover/overlap the chest?
Because the Mags would be too heavy and not fit in the rifles. 30 rounds of 556 is already enough weight to carry without adding more.
A 4lb magazine that costs $120 won't sell very well.
It could be a reality with graphine, a new wonder material on the horizon. We'll have to wait and see.

Chest rigs don't have anywhere to put soft armor. But there are plenty of soft armor vest that are made to be worn under your shirt, and you could wear a chest rig over that.

In my day, that's how we always wore it: chest rig over body armor. Of course, our rigs were a bit simpler than a lot of the stuff you get nowadays.

I have a chest rig, but it’s not the right one. The magazine pouches are directly on the front of the rig. If you are under fire and you have to dive onto your belly, you can damage the magazines. I’m looking for a chest rig that has the mag pouches on the sides.
What kind of magazines do you have? I feel like it would be REALLY hard to break a mag diving on it
@@375Cheytac-I have several different kinds of magazines. Aluminum GI, Pmags, Hexmags, and a couple of other kinds. And they do break.
@@brianunderwood7437 Fair enough. I’m no expert but I’ve seen people running the Crye AVS which has detachable sides. There are after market sides you can get that hold magazines and simply velcro in place to replace the old sides.
