Floral Top and Mod Top Decals:
( I have removed the link due to numerous reports of unfulfilled orders regarding the supplier. I will update this description if an alternative becomes available. I am uninterested in testimonials regarding fulfilled orders. Make your own channel and sing their praises if it’s that important to you. I am not affiliated in any way with the supplier, and paid for the decals with my own money when I built this model in 2021. I have provided the link to the supplier in the past, but will no longer do so.)

Beautiful build. I mostly build Mopars.
Literally one of my favorite builds out there. Car is gorgeous in person.
Very nice build. I am amazed you can get those decals for the top. I never knew these cars existed until this video. Thanks for sharing.
The decals were surprisingly easy to apply, even for me!
That is REALLY cool, Frank
Thanks Dirk!
I am a big Mopar fan. Your build of the Dart is very impressive and unique.
Totally awesome
Beautifully detailed
Nicely done 👏👏👏👏

Thanks!
Really cool.
Wow Frank the Dart looks fantastic, Ron
Thanks Ron!
Seen a swinger rebuilt on tv years ago and they put a new old stock floral top back on. It was the last replacement top from original stock.
Great looking build! Fantastic job.
I started watching this awhile back...just retuning to finish. The mod/floral tops are super cool cars. You def nailed this one down. Thanks for sharing ✌️
Awesome build. Sweet color
Thanks Joe!
What a beautiful Dart! Thank you for showing it!
Thanks! My pleasure!
Beautiful beeee-you-tee-ful build there! Daryl is my model car uncle! We talk models and have a lot of great conversations about cars! I hope he enjoys the Dart!
Great video Frank! ✌🏽😎👍🏾
Thanks so much Clifton!
Awesome build! Love factory stock builds. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Alan! My pleasure!
Great work Frank!!!
Thanks Terry!
My Father was a new car salesman for a Dodge dealership. His 1969 Demo was a Dart GTS, 340 4spd, every performance option! A Dart was in the showroom just like your build! I was 10 years old when I saw this car, I laughed at it! It sold pretty quick, goofy, but cool!
Nice to see the floral top, too bad the decal is not available. Nicely done with the extra detailing.
Absolutely beautiful 👏👏👏👏
Thanks Tim!
My Dad had a 1969 Barracuda, pale yellow with the Mod top. It had the 225 six cylinder. I was just 5 or 6 when he got it. He said it had the fold down rear seat, which seems odd for a 1969 hard top car. Beautiful build.
Sister got her new 69 dart 🎯 with the flower power seat upholstery! Yuk! The factory put white body side moldings on one side brown ones on the other side! Now that’s America! 🇺🇸 michigan plates set it off nicely! Cool build man! 🫡🇺🇸🫡🇺🇸👀
hey Frank, i believe we have talked a few times on Model Car Zone and am a frequent viewer of your builds (the Mopars especially!!) but never put 2 and 2 together that you were the same guy. glad i finally did that. and yes, Daryl is one hell of a guy. keep up the good work!!
Thanks Al!
Top work Frank , impressive decal application and engine detailing . Regards Gav.
EXCRUCIATINGLY AWESOME YO!
KUDOS ON THE BUILD! 💯
Awesome Work Frank
Thanks Dave!
Every year at Carlisle Pennsylvania they have an all Chrysler car show. The last one I was at had 3 cars with the Floral Top or Mod Top. The one car had the vinyl worked into the interior of the car also. 2 of the cars were A body cars and one was a B body car. The one car was an original car and the other 2 came from the factory with the top but those were replaced with re production vinyl. Oh by the way Frank. Great build !!!
Thanks! I’ve seen the SuperBee in this color with the floral top. I believe it’s a bench seat column shift car.
There was a time that the manufacturer of floral/mod top vinyl had extra rolls, but they’re all sold out….making a restoration even more difficult.
Great job 👍🏿
Thanks!
Beautiful Work! Impressive

Looks great! How did you "save" the decal? Thanks for showing us your build, Frank!
Because the pattern repeats itself over and over, I just cut a piece of the decal that would cover the slit and placed it over the damage.
I completely forgot about that happening until I was going through the pictures to make the video. This was built in 2021.
@@FranksModelWorks Nice!
Love the roof. I wonder how did you managed to fix the disaster? And do you have tips for cutting and placing that kind of roof decal?
The pattern repeats itself, so I found a corresponding piece of the pattern, cut out a piece that would cover the damage, and placed it on. The pattern itself was sufficiently “busy” that the repair was unnoticeable.
For placing a decal like this, first experiment….i found that placing this pattern and the Blue and Yellow Mod Top Patterns looked best over an off white base. I prepared a swatch, glued some pieces of styrene the size of which I would be using to simulate the seams, painted the base color, then added the decal. I was happy to find that the decals responded well to my favorite decal solvent: Walthers Solvaset.
Once my materials were set, I added the vinyl top to the body using Marcos Cruz’ method linked in the description (with the exception of using MCW texture lacquer).
Once dry, I created a template by masking off the roof with Tamiya tape, lifting it off, and transferring the template to the decal sheet, then adding 4mm (if I remember correctly) to each edge. I also rounded each edge to prevent tearing.
I then cut out the decal, applied it the roof and worked it onto the surface with a cotton swab and applications of Solvaset.
Once it was where I wanted it and all moisture was wicked from underneath, I trimmed it to fit against the soon to be foiled chrome trim.
@@FranksModelWorks Thanks for the detailed instructions.
What was Dodge thinking or smoking in 1969? 😂 never saw one in person. Did see one on "Graveyard Cars" in the boneyard.
They were trying to directly market to females with the Mod/Floral Top.
It didn’t work well, so it only lasted two years.
Yesterday’s failures make for today’s high end collectibles.
