Scrapping locomotives always saddens me and yet I am not affected by scrapping multiple units etc the same way. Regretfully all machinery becomes life-expired at some point and not all of it can be saved.
The locos we admire would not exist without recycling. Steel from old machinery becomes new again when recycled. Hoarding all the old equipment won't bring our youth back, which is what nostalgic people really miss.
Not every locomotive id in preservable condition at the end of thier general service life. those that can be preserved should be preserved, thete ate enough preserved raileays to run them on, those that can't be should be scrapped simple as.
@@noelbullard2419 i agree when it comes to main line railways. Most passenger don't give a toss what train turns up as long as it runs on time . That being said there are enough private preserved railways in the uk to run more preserved locomotives. As i said previously If a train is in condition where preservation is possible it should be preserved. If the condition of the locomotive means it can't be saved then scrap it
If the chassis and bodies were sound would it not have been better to fit modern equipment and electronics and preserve the old AC electrics or was it just too expensive and didn’t make businesses sense.
Pleanty are preserved. If you're from the uk Google search around and find your local preseved railway and give it some support when they have runnung days
37 428 was scraped there somewhere between 2011 and 2012 very sad as 37428 is my favourite 37 😭
I was about to cry when i saw this.
It would be shame if they mistook the scrap yard shunter as a withdrawn one and scrap it

If colas rail was watching they would say “geez we could of had them”
So sad seeing these great work horses meeting their end 😢 A bit like Barry island in the 70s 🙁
Sad end to great BR machines 😢

Me too, Id love on in my backyard garage!
Look at those Murderers just walking around the corpses without any compassion, sickening!
Nothing to do with that those locos had served there purposes the railways need stronger and more efficient locomotives and must move with the times
@@noelbullard4676 Excellent comment. See how those shite locos are ripped apart with cutting torches!
I'm a railfan myself but as time goes on we need stock that's more modern and efficient

Aye you can say that again, and look at the toc's today now scrabbling about trying to buy anything they can back out of preservation. Lunacy!
+tinsley.tmd.41a Cut this old junk for scrap quick!
Derby RTC / Network Rail are even using a green Class 37 (37057) with headcodes for their diagrams. Plus 37025 Inverness TMD out of preservation!
Troll get back under your bridge :-) you comment on every video you sad individual.
TJ I agree, these polluting locos should be recycled. Slice them with cutting torches and melt down the scrap pieces.
can you still go in to booths
By 2040 the DFT wants most of the diesels gone and replaced by electric. So await for the first class 66 to make this trip.

I most favourite these train... They've gone to death... Why!!!
Running costs as they get older it costs more and more to keep them going. Sad really.
