- Another video showcasing this amazing VR experience. The story and amount of controls could have been much better and I understand people not liking the game on flat-screen but in VR you can't deny that it looks incredible.

The sending of one squadron (regardless how good they are) against an Imperial cruiser & their 5 squadrons of Tie Fighters is the essence of star wars plot armor.
Rebellions are built on hope!
@@Reblwitoutacause Rebellions are built with money, steel, ruthless discipline & an ability to do extremely unethical & unpleasant things. Hope has nothing whatsoever to do with it unless you're a 7 year old girl.
@@raybarry4307 word
@@raybarry4307 yeah, the plot armor is worse that the Imperials always needed the help of Vader's fleet just to win against some few Rebels (Excluding Grand Admiral Thrawn).
@@raybarry4307 The Rebellion's chief weapon is fear! (Umm, sir, that's the Empire's chief weapon).
Well, the Rebellion's chief weapon is surprise! (That's better, sir)
And our chief weapon is surprise!...and ruthless efficiency!
Our, our chief weapons are fear (sorry, not that), surprise, ruthless efficiency and a fanatical devotion to Anakin Skywalker!
What did you just say, sir?
This is the type of gaming experience I used to dream about as a kid in the 90s. Can’t believe the future is here.
Yknow this actually did exist in the 90s with the x-wing series, it just looks better now 😂
Wing Commander was a thing too
Was remembering playing StarFox for the first time and Rogue Squadron on Nintendo 64 thinking how awesome that was...and SkyFox on Apple2e prior to that in monochrome.
If I've learned anything from Star Wars, it's that 6 X-wings can destroy any piece of imperial hardware ever created... because reasons.
Ages ago I used to play a PC game called X-Wing VS TIE Fighter. This really takes me back!
Same here. Loved both Tie fighter and X wing vs Tie fighter.
Ages ago, I used to play the Star Wars game arcade vector graphics game at Chuck E Cheese!
BTW, Squadrons is my favorite VR game!
Xwing, Tie fighter, than Xwing vs Tie fighter. Awesome memories.. Dark forces was cool too.
I remember that, and I remember the graphics being cutting edge!
You'll be thrilled to hear it's currently on Steam, a pc gaming platform and it supports a mod you can install that updates/modernizes the graphics. Enjoy!

Playing Squadrons on flat screen and playing it in VR are almost two different games. On a monitor it’s a a lot of fun…in VR, it’s the kind of game you’ll talk about for years, especially if you’re an OG trilogy fan. For me, after growing up on the “X-wing” series, this game was like a fantasy come true.
What VR set do you use for it?
Or even Rogue Squadron for N64
@@buzzfunk Just an Oculus Quest 2 with a link cable. I have an RTX 2070 Super with 16gb of RAM. I honestly have to check my processor, but I remember it was kind of in the middle of the pack when I bought this gaming rig. Works wonderfully though. I'm getting high, consistent frame rates.
Except EA fucking destroys everything it touches. The game is dead.
(3:32) Oh, MAN!!! Looking away during the jump to hyperspace is unforgivable! 😉😜
That was so frustrating.
He does it both times!!
I think it's a cool POV we don't get enough of!
I loved Star Wars squadrons no matter how the reviews went
Sometimes the fleet battles can be annoying because the AI just makes a B-Line straight for you
But overall I love the experience of flying in these famous Star Wars ships
Why wouldn’t the enemy target the Main Character? 😂
@@Reblwitoutacause don’t you know main characters have plot armour??
@@Shadowkey392 apparently the game AI doesn’t. What I think does not matter dude.
@@Reblwitoutacause If he was playing on ace dificult they would do, but it seems he isn't, when I played campaign in that difficult I could not turn off the shields if I wanted to pass.
Too much cheating though. Ruined it for me
I remember playing Squadron for the first time. It was cool and fun. and then I set up my HOTAS and hooked my VR to try that out. I flipped out to how much more detail I could see and felt I was in a real X-Wing. Nearly brought a tear to my eye
How did you get the controls to work properly? When I tried I could not get a working control scheme.
This needs a rotational haptic chair and we'll finally have damn near the full experience.
This game is sooooooo fucking immersive in VR. I really wish this game didn't suffer the backlash of BF2 being cancelled. This game is soo fun
Bruh you have no idea the power of a full rig and vr set I shat my pants
Awesome in VR, just wish the mission weren't so same same, flying close to some planets and caves would have been great
BF2 had enough time and resources spent on it, the devs were probably glad to see the back of it...like most of us. And this clown wants to play it in vr..jeez
I couldn't even do the tutorial in vr without getting sick
@@J.Wolf90 you get use to after awhile, just gotta build your tolerance up a bit. Happens with a lot of VR players
The one EA game I would happily pay for more content.
Really? Not Fallen Order too?
@@Shadowkey392 Thats what sequels are for.
If this game and VR tech had been available when I was young, I would have had great difficulty doing anything else. Amazing.
tie fighter in VR, my dream:p
Man it’s just too bad the multiplayer is dead was such an amazing game on the oculus and even though I’m a Xwing kinda guy there was something special about flying the Y wing and B wing. Rotating the entire ship while dogfighting in the b wing looked awesome and the Y wing was a straight tank. Loved it.
I only fired up the game twice on launch week. It was just so apparent that for anyone without a full setup, that in the multiplayer that you’d have to sweat 110% for hours every day to not go 1-20 every round. I put it down thinking “man, I wish I didn’t have to try so hard to have fun. I don’t want this game to take up all of my gaming time.”
Shame that people with VR setups weren’t able to keep a baseline level of life on the game if it’s as dead as you say.
One of the biggest reasons it died as quick as it did is that at the end of the day if you aren't grinding on multiplayer there isn't much to do. The Campaign is lackluster and the multiplayer, while enjoyable, is a PVP mess full of cheaters and unbalanced lobbies.@@TheQuadLaunchers
Just like Starfighter assault in BFII@@TGOPoma
The light into the cockpit is incredible.
This was how I felt as a 7 year old playing the original sit-down cabinet Star Wars arcade game, with the vector graphics.
Gives a good impression of what a cluster F such a battle would be like
this is where the fun begins.
This game is SO good in VR. I get such a rush playing it.
Imagine a video where they start in squadrons get shot down and then it switches to blade and sorcery for the crash
Excellent video idea
That was so much fun to watch... and in VR with your way of flying just made it so much better. Great video!
I love this content. This was genuinely fun to watch. You feel like a kid again finally getting to see what you imagined when you pretended to be a fighter pilot after watching the movies. Just as simple as watching someone play it in vr satisfied that “child in me’s” dream
Damn...need to get a VR headset again. This looks amazing.
Not gonna lie man, your channel is sick! Can't wait for next video.
This looks amazing. Thanks for sharing
Damn, this is so incredible.
Good soldiers follow orders, you did a good job, CAPTAIN zevix
Like your content, like order 66,
Whoever was flying that X-Wing is significantly better at that game than I am :-D And wow VR looks amazing
Like a combination between Ace Combat VR and Star Wars Rogue Squadron N64
this game in vr is amazing on a hp reverb g2 v2 especially the last mission wow.
At one point a tie fighter is flying by and is shot by the X-wing, and just then a pop-up ad appeared which read, "Life is uncertain."
That was really cool
This game had so much potential - a shame it had to end this way
I guess it almost came back
It really did, but was so damn shallow. Shame.
That was great gameplay and some nice kills 👍
Omg that looks incredible
Love the vids man keep is up
lol im sttting here yelling at the screen "Fire! quit doing combat acrobatics and fire on that star destroyer!" haha, man i should get this game.
This was AMAZING !!! Thanx a lot . 🍺🍺🍺👍
That was immensely fun to watch
You my friend, are simply fantastic
Whenever i forget about this Game, i see a Video like this and wanna play again.😅
my god VR really evolved over the course of the past years, really waiting for the moment when these haptic gloves are becoming affordable
cant describe how crazy this feels in VR
Super vidéo très fun
Avec enfin un vrai pilotage du xwing
Pas type arcade yes
This game needs to be made available on PS5 VR.
Man this looks so cool.
Even years later, I still remember what a masterpiece this game was....
Such a shame there isn't many players to this game anymore, it was awesome when it first came out
This is a result of pushing multiplayer to make it enjoyable instead of focusing on better AI for single player. The original battlefront 2 is still being played because of its ability to be played offline and its challenging AI players
@Efrain Flores the single player campaign is pretty good in squadrons, I think the issue is the lack of game modes and maps, seems like the game was a quick cash grab they didn't want to support in any way which seems stupid to me but yeah, I swear xwing vs tie fighter had more multi-player modes and that game was out in the 90s using GameSpy lol
I would love to get a vr set, mostly for Blades and Sorcery though. But this would be so awesome, flying through space. How... immersive is it?
Good PC + HOTAS + VR = The most immersive star wars experience you can have at home
Cockpit games in VR is very immersive
That was awesome lol
i peter this on xbox and was a great game but impossible to track ships passing over you. Here, it's no problem, probably 1000x better in VR
Very immersive, the only negative is the motion sickness which takes a while to get used to, unfortunately for some people it is harder. (It's convenient that you mentioned Blade and Sorcery since that game helped me greatly to overcome VR motion sickness)
Man. That crescendo around 3:00 before the jump was INTENSE
Keep up the good work 👨🏻🦰👍🏻
Imagine a clone wars installment for this, it would be legendary
YOOO THIS IS SO IMMERSIVE
Sick!
WTF man this is nuts I can only imagine what this game would be like after playing no mans sky in VR this would be extraordinary!!
That was insane!!!!
Like playing rogue squadron .... super cool !
This game is like warthunder+starwars. I would love to have a game like warthunder but with starwars vehicles and more!
I admit I play a lot of games on easy. Just enjoy the story and visuals.
This look amazing
Love this
That's was so nice and epic can you do all mission in cinematic of star wars squadron in vr that's was very nice ^^
marvelous!
This was entertaining
I LOVE this game in VR just wish the multi player was better... but to play it is a childhood dream come true
For anyone who has not tried this game in VR you are doing yourself a disservice. The premier SW fighter pilot experience hands down.
wow, nice VR vid 👍
That game was Intense - Love it.
I just wish it was less of an arcade game and more in depth regarding the Star Wars universe and such.
Good good that was so good.
Dammmm that was goooooooood 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Interesting game with good visual effects.
omg i would be chundering everywhere if I played this with VR
I'm sure it's WAAAY better with VR.
I've been trying to play it on my monitor lately.
Project Wingman is also really rad in VR.
"Last one alive buys the beers!"
If youre not entertaining your tram as your fighting for your life, are you even playing the game?
Er kann rollen! "Das ist'n guter Trick!" ^^
2 fighters against a star destroyer...? its escape from Hoth all over again, but without the ion cannon!
Fun times!
If i play this game, I’d already know how to manage power because Elite Dangerous also has power management
the last thing I played was X-Wing Alliance about 15 years ago - so this is what current Star Wars flight sim looks like ;-)
liked the vivid moving light source and shading on the high-res virtual cockpit
also liked the way you can look around and keep your target capital ship in your sights
is it possible to turn the amount of general passing debris down at all?
If only Zuckerberg realized that the metaverse needs to be open source.
This is an awesome game
The mission seems to suffer from the typical video game mentality. "You have to kill 20 fighters and a carrier with just an X-Wing."
It's pretty though.
I'm going to be THAT GUY for a moment just for a funny thought. Realistically its space, so sound waves wouldn't travel in a vacuum for you to hear the shots so it would be such a silent fight
I would assume there would be a lot of radio traffic and ship sounds transmitting that way to the fleet. Not silent, but you wouldn't hear an incoming bolt unless it hit you.
I was just doing it for the lawlz but I do agree to that since it would be presurised and you'd hear the feedback of it being hit or internal movements @@parajerry
Better than the whole of Rise of Skywalker.
Only thing I saw that I disliked was how quick the turning circle was for the X-wing, it turned on a dime, whereas in the films the turning circle is much longer and larger.
its fantastic how sound still is a thing in space after 50 years
Forget that. How the fuck does one move like an airplane in space where friction is non existent and thrusters are needed to move in any direction.
Don't analyze, just play :-D
3:00 music is insane
very good
This game needs an expansion or sequel to include the clone era
Sending just one squadron of X-Wing rebel fighters against a star destroyer and Imperial Sith TIE fighters is suicide.
I find myself moving my head along with everything.
This guy: let's try spinning that a good trick
VR/HOTUS made this 40$ game feel like i wont the lottery. From turning a school desk into a drag racing chair in high school 2 decades ago with need for speed and forza, to having an entire room setup to playing squadrons.
That first paycheck at 14 and going to buy my own food, to right now at 33 paying my bills doing great and still finding more and mkre immersion.
I rock the Bwing. I love the artillery. Try and get me, i will drift on you for the pleasure...youll run after sometime...but youre not gonna run outta range.
I'm afraid that if I go full in on a dog fighter, I'm gonna break my setup....again....
Boinkrs always gonna support if possible lmao
Every body, imagine an alternate reality in 1977 after we went to see Star Wars for the first time in the theater. Then we could buy a computer of today to play this at our home
Damn I want DCS Star Wars now! Would be wild
Fantastic. Would be so much better if it were more “space accurate” though
Dude Akbar said light speed...like I remember from the original trilogy...its usually hyper space/speed now.
Couldn't keep the camera forward for the hyperspace jump hey?
oh geez cant do it too dizzy
I loved this game, but for some reason it won't load on any of my PC's anymore. Just shows the splash screen then crashes.
