The sound of the hits on the shield sound amazing.
Takes me back to how immersive the sit - down Star Wars arcade seemed in the 80’s. This upgrade would have been too much for my 8 year old brain to handle.

Are there no male squadron fighters? It seems, whether human or not, they’re all females apart from a couple of commanders

Well the ground signaler certainly looked gloomy, doesn't seems convincing that she had a fine time in the rebel hanger.

Wish it was more like a Star Wars Themed version of DCS instead of this Arcade Style of gaming that’s just point and shoot. You may as well sticky tape your trigger because you spend the whole time pumping laser fire into endless drones, It’s so boring.
I am not verse with rebel ranks decoration but why are the pilots having those pocket pen pins thingy the empire high ranking officers have??? The insignia and decorations in Star Wars universe is a mess.... and deserve a sort and arranged universal data wiki.

What are you talking about - this is obviously auto-aim galore. If you want no auto-aim, check out X-Wing from 1993, where you had to adjust your aim every time gun cycled to the other side.

Auto-aim, fully scripted battles, soft-rails, protracted exposition scenes.
This is not a space-sim - it's garbage. TIE Fighter is superior, and with the TFTC project it leaves this new 3D fluff in the dust.
Hey Bender, the TFTC project is very promising and i agree that TIE Fighter is a much better space sim but don't understimate the immersion given by the VR. My perfect space sim would have more interactive cockpits and systems along with VR and i hope they will add them to TIE Fighter as Benchmark sim did on Falcon BMS which is another fan made project like TFTC.

I doubt TFTC would go that way - it's simply not that kind of a game and also there are limitations in the X-Wing Alliance enging. As for VR, I believe does support it now.

As someone who was born in 1970 and saw the original Star Wars when it premiered I can say without a doubt that the franchise has been destroyed.

Same here.... The real Star Wars is directed by George Lucas!! The others are simply ridiculous. Anyway it's nice to see x-wing and tie fighters with modern graphics and in virtual reality.....

@@FlightSimulation also, just so you know, George was only the director of the first Star Wars, what we know as Episode IV: A New Hope. After that, he made the call to let other people direct, but he was a writer and producer. Imagine this being your whole life since the late 70's and creating not only one of the biggest stories ever, but also LucasArts, Lucasfilms, etc...
ok, but you can watch episode 4 today and say "holy sh.t those VFX are awesome", even today. I think it's the only movie from the late 70's that can be compared to today's VFX and i prefer George Lucas style, it's more "serious". Disney is good in making toons or movie for child...

Because its not Lucas fanbase, the empire had no female pilots or militants according to Lucas. This didnt happen until the Disney rainbow party dancers got ahold of it. Is also why the sequels are the absolute worst of all the movies. The acting is bad, the writing might as well put them all in hooker boots w hair dyed green or red.
