  • This week I helped a friend repot her severely root bound Philodendron giganteum in sphagnum moss so I'm taking you through my process of untangling and repotting. Also! I'm finally doing a feature on the propagation parfait for rehab plants after a lot of requests! Pudge is also showing off a new trick to celebrate 3K subscribers 🥳 Thank you so much for being here 💘

Great video! It was so satisfying to watch you clean the plant with the ear wax removing took, lol.
Pudge’s athleticism at the end is clearly unmatched 😉 What a cutie 💚

Pudge is so adorable! 🐾💙 You are so patient to have been able to untangle those roots from the Sphagnum! The parfait method is really interesting. I was wondering if it was possible to root plants in pumice, rather than perlite. I don’t have perlite, so that’s part of why I was curious… I finally bought Sphagnum Moss and I did some rooting in it but it’s really hard to remove the moss when you’re ready to pot in soil.
    Thank you for sharing! 💜💚🪴

Yaaaas, my favourite dynamic duo are back! Funnily enough your repotting has come in time for me as I must repot tomorrow, but not because of the plant being root bound, but I suspect root rot on my Verrucosum! I send positive healthy vibes to your Thai, and hope it has pulled it's last tantrum on you!

Yes Fern has a DIY pon video.. it's just lava rock, pumice, and zeolite 😉 lachuza brand puts a slow release fertilizer in theirs i think. I found a mix on Amazon that has all these same ingredients minus the fert. It's listed under succulent or bonsai substrate. 💚

Is it ok to have some spagnum on the plant when repotting? I just got a new albo that was packed in spagnum. I tried getting most of it out but got scary think I was gonna harm it so placed it in an aroid mix with some spagnum still attached. Will thi actually do more harm should I take it out and keep trying to remove the spagnum? Any guidance would be awesome. Thank you

There is so much I don’t know. How did you learn this. Do you just have containers of LECA, perlite and potting soil? Or what? None of mine need to be transplanted yet but I want to be ready.

You should have just watered it really good before you took it out of the pot and it probably would be falling off instead of you having to individually
