- Adding a bass module to the OGY bookshelf loudspeaker is fun. In this video I present the BOB or Bass Open Baffle units that enhance low frequency for OGY. This results in a new dimension of sound. Not to confuse with adding a subwoofer whatever good it is. The way bas enhancement models integrate with OGY is splendid. We are not talking about punching rather giving them a breath and size while preserving speed, details and pinpointing imaging.

Congratulations your OGY BOB sound solutions! I prefer the look of the OGY with the integrated ROUND driver in which we do not see the mounting screws. It looks tidier IMHO :-) My favourite set up is like the one that you sent to Steve Huff with the black OGY on top of two BOBs. VERY nice look and SOUND! :-)
Definitely add the black oak option. Maybe do a quarter sawn oak too at some point.

I like the idea of having larger OGY speakers. I haven't had good experiences with adding subwoofers and for many people, it can be quite challenging to get perfectly integrated subs. The OGY speakers have a great appearance. Please keep the same black and white finish. What would be the appropriate room size for the OGY speakers to sound good without a subwoofer? Thank you.
Thank you for the comment. First of all the BOBs are not subwoofers. They enhance low frequency performance by blending seamlessly with OGYs low frequency. In a typical subwoofer setup you would hear monitors and then subwoofer with a kind of void in between. Now as to the room size for OGYs alone, it depends of the room geometry - The height being quite important. Paradoxically I think they sound best in our big showroom (40 sqm). And in 20 sqm they sound very good too.
This looks great. I like the modular and simple approach. I wonder how you deal with impedance matching as more bass drivers are added?

well the impedance goes down, with two BOBs vent our 300B Provocateur manages to sound good. With 3 pairs it is another story something more powerfully is needed. hence we played with the Mille by elinsAudio www.stereopolis.com/products/elinsaudio-mille-reference-amplifier

OGY+2xBob mě hodně zajímá. Problém je že není možné je někde slyšet. Mám domluvený poslech až na Slovensku kam to mám hodně daleko, ale doufám, že budu z poslechu nadšený. Zatím čekám až budou ve studiu. Chtělo by to více míst kde bude možné si je poslechnout. Přeji kladné recenze a těším se na poslech.

Yes, the black looks very nice and you should add it to what's available. I looked on your site and it appears your out of stock of most OGY's. After seeing the steve huff review I want to buy these.

Above average for sure. It depends also of the amplifier. In my experience for low level listening the tube amps are better as the body of sound is reveled sooner than with transistors. Most of our customers like to listen at low levels :)

What you mean by 6 inch OGY? OGY with 6" driver? we do not have it. OGY was designed to be as small as possible for the fastest and most detailed wide band driver made by EMS.
Did not try in 13 sqm but in 16 sqm they are perfect. ❤
I think the possibility of a DIY version of the Bob and Ogys Bass should be considered. The cheapest: 1550 + 2750 = €4300 is too much in my opinion. It is better to have a more affordable version to reach more people and thus make yourself known. The rest of the speakers without DIY. Offering, in any case, an unpainted version of the Ogy, similar to the Ogys Bass.

Yes. One pair per pair of Ogys is like with OGY’ Bass. So absolutely yes.

Why OB bass & not boxed?
it is a completely different sound, less boomy, lighter. faster. Better integrated with the OGY

@@closeracoustics6154 this way the bass guitar as wel as the double bass in jazz sounds way more musical. I made a full 3 way OB with only a 8" woofer and was amazed bij the way a double bass sounded. It was a fun project during Covid and I was looking for the "perfect" jazz sound. With this basic OB I found it.
