- I’ve been using the Patagonia tires on my jeep for over a week now, and I wanted to share my initial thoughts on this item.
I do some basic sand exercises, and then I take them to the rocks to do a little crawling.
I follow that up with our demolition derby that I recently entered.

I feel your pain about not wanting to bore anyone. But, rest assured that I, and many others like me, enjoy every moment of your videos! You are so competent in what you do, and seem so at ease. You have a wonderful family. Your wife and kids are amazing and always have smiles on their faces. The love is obvious! You and the people around you have such great attitudes! This is what our world needs more of!
Comment of the decade. Somebody called you the Bob Ross of Towing, and I got to agree!
You record what you want to record, of they wanna watch it they will. If they don't they won't. Love to see a derby car/truck build.
Nothing better then real world experience to really know and explain how something performs. Thanks for the insight and demonstration!
Man I really enjoy your videos, I like down to earth honest people, thanks for sharing.
Hope it's ok to speak for everyone here but your videos r awesome and I think we all like it's not reality TV. It's just you doing your thing. Really refreshing and your doing great at it. Keep going your on to something here
I live near Pismo Beach CA and got stuck in the river crossing about 25 years ago. I wish the tow company that recovered my truck had the same business ethics yours does.
My mother is from San Luis Obispo. to keep it short I went down there one summer to visit family I went to the beach and I saw a person who was stuck and I didn't realize that it was illegal for me to pull them out of the sand dunes.... The towing company that operates there with a giant Tonka trucks call the park ranger which in turn called the police and they threatened to fine me if I did it again..... I ended up pulling two other people out anyways 😂
Tom Hodge when I got stuck there were several guys watching who never helped. Anybody can tow out stuck vehicles they just can’t accept money. I’ve been going out there for years and make it a point to help out as many people as possible.
5:18 that’s so satisfying watching the tires squish in... I don’t know how to explain it but for whatever reason what comes to mind is just simply delicious.
"Turning sharp and slow speed will definitely end your trip". Not exactly. That is when they get to meet you ! Great video. I like the derby video also.
Just wanted to say hello to Ed! He adds a lot to your videos and always makes me smile :) great job guys.
Thanks for giving your opinion on these tires. I think it is pretty awesome you are willing to respond to your viewers like that! I wish you and your family all the best and continued success!
I just discovered your channel about a week ago, and I've been binge watching ever since! Dig the way you film, speak, and explain things. Big ups to you man! All the best, from South Africa
Love the Demo Derby footage, brings back fond memories from back in the 70s & 80s when I worked at Sante Fe Speedway.
I loved the derby footage. I have to get out to one or more of 'em this fall. It's always a great way to spend a fall evening.
Boing back to view some of the older ones. What great videos. Crazy how much the kids have grow. Great family times right here.
Excited for the merch man! You do you and keep on keepin’ on!
honestly u have got to have one of the best honest personality youtube! cant say cheers so i wish u the best in the future
That destruction derby was a terrific ending.........loved it, thanks!
I really have a great time watching your channel. The content is really interesting and there are a lot of lessons in there for me. Keep up the awesome work! Btw, you do a great job presenting your work, the whole thing feels like I am on a ride along. Thanks for taking us all along.
Not just having a badass jeep but also some good common sense helps. Here in NY I never see the box beam on the door also saw it in Canada. Good idea.
Love the instruction and how to do it skills. Please make that a regular part of your channel.
Tire review, wheeling, how to get out of sand in 2 wheel drive and demolition derby.....EPIC VIDEO!
Dude ur so humble. Thanks man
Great and clean old fun at the end. Thanks bro for your blogs. Cool
Thanks for including the derby footage. Always great to see Junky.
Heck yeah! New sub here! just binge watching all your videos. So peaceful to watch you help these people out and work on cars and stuff. I hope to make a trip to Utah soon, looks so beautiful. Definitely add some more merch to your website for the fans 👌 keep up the great work and entertainment.
Looks like a hoot. Great videos Matt. Most of the work related videos fail to show what else is going on in their lives. You just put it out there. Thanks.
Nothing like a good old smash & crash Derby on a Saturday night. Especially the view at the end with the water fall n people jumping in for a cool dip after a hot race
I like the Cosmo Kramer portrait in your office. Classic.
Really like your videos and you do have a calmness about you and very informative
Oh p.s. you sure got those tires barking
Having friends in the industry is awesome!
Hey Matt !! We love our Milestar’s. We’ve had them on for a couple weeks and they performed great on the trail. Different conditions than you have. Bug needs one of those hats!! ❤️🐞
Demo Derby's are great but I really love a Figure 8!
Keep up the great work man please dont ever stop! We live for these videos matt!! Thanks for everything yall do brother ! Jeep on jeepin' on man!
I liked the Derby footage, keep doing what your doing as long as you enjoy it!!
So nice stories !!! I'm happy to see you there !! take care !!
Cool cammed engine sounds and antler exhausts on the derby car! 😎😆😊👍
Good job! I run them tires on my Jeep JK but 37's haven't been real off roading with them yet and the place I play down by the lake is all under water.
The derby was fun to watch, reminded me of my younger days at the drag strip with my friends old 54 ford 427. We spent hours at his dad's junk yard working on it so he could race it a few times, then back to the shop to fix it.
I had the 33 size of those tire on my JK and was really happy with them. They never saw sand but they got through the mud pretty good and kept grip on rocks with no complaints. The treads got pretty clean under light acceleration....overall a pretty decent tire at an agreeable price point. Hope they are still working for you. IDK how I stumbled across your videos-they are unlike anything else I watch on here-but I thoroughly enjoy them. You have a great personality for this stuff dude. Keep up the great work
Matt makes me want a set of Patagonia's for my dad's bronco when I finally get it fixed up and back road worthy
Junky sounds lumpy. Nothing like a good ol fashioned "D" derby to blow off steam. I had fun watchin you guys having fun. Great vid. Thanks for the tip on the recovery ropes too Matt.
Good choice in tires, I've been running them on my xterra for about 12,000 miles and they're performing great!
Love the Kramer for president picture behind you
Bonus Material at the end. Awesome! Cool to see another side of you guy
Don’t be so self continuous about it brother. Those of us that like off-roading just love watching the lifestyle. You are a cool, honest down to earth dude and that has become exceedingly rare on utube. Keep recording and we’ll keep watching. We live vicariously through you when we’re stuck at the shop/office and can’t be out there ourselves. Bought the white hat.
The derby looks like fun!
Nice video, wonderful family. Demos are fun to watch, a real pain in the neck to drive in.
Great video thank you! Looking forward to the one about sand off roading!
Great shot of toquerville falls at the end. Went there for the first time a few weeks ago after living down here almost 8 years. Roughest road I've ever driven...even more than when I've gone hunting in the mountains
Went from winder towing to Matt’s off road recovery 🎉
Great video. That tires is on my list of options. Love the “bonus” footage after the review
So happy I found your channel.
Great info to know!!!
Also, nice quality family time....keep up the great work!!
Thanks for the sand driving info.
I watch the channel for the cool towing and cause of Matt. If it would be some other ahole know it all Im sure I would of tuned out a long time ago. Says something about Matt how humble he is and keeps channel focused on everyone else and everything else BUT himself. He never rambles on about himself, which is something all youtubers do. Thank you for not doing that. So if you wanna show your derby we are with you bro!
Loved the derby footage!
Enjoyed the video with your tire review, sand driving Technic and fun at the track. Nice hats.
Love the car I have always wanted to drive one but that isn’t going to happen. You are my fun and I hope you will do it again. I thank you for your video. Many thanks.
I love derbis. That old Lincoln 👌
I learned to drive in the sand In the 80s right there long before the lake in a F250 diesel with skinny tires.
I like the CRAMER picture in the background
Love the medusa pipes on the derby car.
Man injoy all your videos this better i relax when me watch your videos
O yes sometime me jumping up to try sit next to you when you recover
Thanks Mentor
The biggest outstanding in all your videos clip is when you spent a lots of time with your family hang out in the deserts drifting fun that is a blessing to see family are so happy and injoy it
And with your friend
Thanks Mentor
Definitely one of the best channels on you tube...love the videos!
Loved the derby!
Great stuff brother. I wish had spots like you all to do offroading or to just kick it and your XJ is a beast.
Every time I see Ed it puts a smile on my face
Thx Matt enjoyed the tire review, driving review and wrecken video, FWIW I spent alot of time on 2 wheelers in sand not much 4wheelin tho always told newbies including 3 daughters and 5 G'kids think of sand as water like a boat you gotta get on top of it, so stand up lean back with knees pinching the seat/tank and pin it works every time, turnings a little more technical. Pumas is the worst Ive ever ran into, like quicksand. Looks like you got it down on 4x4 with all the work you get hauling 'em out with that awesome Cherolee. Keep em coming Matt.
Thanks for the tire review. The derby was cool to see. Keep the videos coming sir.
Videos on techniques in sand and mud would be awesome. Recovery techniques too! Anchor points, recovery strap vs tow strap etc. Thanks for the great videos!!
Cant wait for the sand driving video!! I been stuck in that damn sand before.
Love it. Gotta have some great confidence in your axles to stutter along like that on the rocks! 🤘
Dana 44 and 60
Never knew you had more sand out there then we have in Florida!
Enjoying the videos!
His sand looks pretty bad but idk our sand here in florida is no frickin joke in some spots. Where i live the sand is like flour.
@@user-ie6ye5ls6y
I've encountered more sugar sand then anything. I'm in Thonotosassa but do most of my offroading in the Ocala area.
Any derby footage is great and keep up the great vidoes
I have a 2000 XJ and the B2 downstream always shorts to ground. For some reason they had a great idea to have the end of the sensor sitting right against the bellhousing. It eventually breaks the wires and they short to ground.
Matt just ordered my hat and shirt tonight here in Costa Mesa CA. Going to try to stop by on my way to Sturgis 80th.
The Kramer painting is the best lol
I really like your videos I'm being beginning to binge watch your Channelmy sister used to live in Kanab and I remember Derbies from when I was very young keep up the good work
That was a great video 👍👍👍👍👍 the part was great seeing you in your fun time
great job in the derby
You are a very good driver sir!
It's been a long time since I saw a demolition derby.
Having fun again!!
Just watched this video again. Just as good as the first time! Those header pipes look like something from MadMax! Must have been a fun night!!
Wow we went to those falls the first of June. There was a lot more water. Love the videos
Once again thank you for your hard work on the videos I know you have a busy schedule. 😁👍 Keep them coming
Hey I tried to reply but I haven't learned how to use my phone hahaha. So I'm gonna try again. Long nights and longer days make us who we are . I know you have a family, busy job. Hat's off to ya 😁👍
It’s nice to have a Casey and an Ed!
Do not forget the gear for the ladies also. Love the pink hat. Going to oder 1
Never seen a real derby event! Pretty bad ass!! Great videos man!
just recently found your channel, love it. No swearing so i can show the grand kids, its great. All the best from Australia.
I'd love to know more about your recovery rig. Seems like a heckuva setup. Keep up the good work!
Cool derby car, love that gen T-bird
Thanks for sharing this video.
I love that Kramer portrait
A few years ago I bought a used CX-9 and it came with new MileStar tires. I was like what they heck are these. I was surprised at how good and how long they lasted. Very impressed with these budget tires
That derby reminded me of driving around Hyde Park Corner in London, but with bigger engines.
Gotta love a demo derby!
Enjoyed the sand driving lesson. I have been to Utah but didn’t have opportunity to drive in the Utah sand. The sand driving we have is on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. The Outer Banks is a sand spit with no rocks. The tire of choice for beach driving is a big car tire with a worn out tread aired down to 25 lbs. Aggressive truck treads just dig a hole toward China. I hope to revisit Utah and drive around a bit.
Love how you through that last one ...caught my wife's car on fire
great work Matt !!!
