Today is my firstborn son's birthdate. He passed away 3yrs ago due to a fentanyl overdose. As I was thinking of him today, this song came on. First time I ever heard it. Took my breath away, even more when I watched the video. Timothy was a BMX rider and I would take him and his friends into Philly to ride. Thank you so very much for this priceless gift your band as given me.
So sorry, I lost a son too, suicide.
So, sorry for your loss. Hopefully, this song can give you some comfort.
I'm so sorry Marisol.

Goosebumps stuff...music is a wonderful natural drug
I feel the War on Drugs have produced a sound that no other band have over the last decade. Their music is so gorgeous it can't be overstated. This song is pure fire but they have so many others.
'Thinking of a place' is just phenomenal, nothing short of life changing.
So grateful I came across this band.

I never had a dad in my life and a man came into my life 18 years ago and taught me everything that he knows and made me a successful man in life ! He was old school and outspoken , he passed away the day after Christmas and I owe him many a thanks! I'm a single pap raising two girls and they considered him to be grandpa. Life moves forward and the legacy will too! Love you Roger!

Music such as this moves you to make memories or defy the grain. You have awareness just run with your awakening and have faith in what you find.
This song got me through one of the hardest years of my life. Thank you for helping me still be around.
Never go away, stay until something else makes you fade.
Thank you for not giving up.

Please stay! I feel you so much. ❤️
I'm glad you are still here. I don't know you but you are loved!
Lost my mum to cancer a year ago.
I listened to this a lot before it happened and I continue to listen to it. She lived a successful, honourable life helping others as a nurse. Nobody can avoid pain, but we can each of us do what we can to make it a bit less. This song helps.
💫
I'm very sorry for Your loss. I lost my mum being 12. It was 42 years ago. I'm crying still as it was yesterday. But just think that way - they are in peace.
Usually, after I've listened to a song about 100 times, the thrill is gone.
This song is the exception. GOD it's fantastic.

Patterson Hood of the Drive By Truckers talks about what he calls “perfect songs,” which couldn’t possibly be made better by changing anything about them. This is a perfect song, and the way he weaves such atmospheric sounds into lyrics so deep is actually quite spiritual. Pain and fear are so basic to being human, and the way he touches on them takes what’s often seen as negative and flips it to an expression of human connection and solidarity. This isn’t just a “perfect song.” I don’t know if you could make a more perfectly human piece of art at all.
So glad I found them. Keeps me sane. So so beautiful
This song is perfect in every single way.
if you like The War On Drugs you should check out Lonely Gimmick - Stay At Home To Sleep In, it gives me strong War on Drugs vibes and its one of the best new indie songs I've heard
This song makes me extremely happy and sad at the same time! Real feeling.
I agree
This man's guitar work is heading into a far flung , mesmerizing future, so looking forward to......x
The solo at the end transmits what the song wants to explain, the pain, the end of a love relationship, this song makes me cry, because I'm going through that, the guitar at the beginning begins with a sad melody and then changes to a I strum loudly as with rage and anger as it happens at the end of a love affair that was special
Euphoria & Melancholy are two sides of the same coin 😉
A Melancholy masterpiece.
This song flows through the deepest part of my soul.

Best of luck brother. You are strong and you can go though it 💪🏼
Tough as nails
That solo at the end is like guitar turned into the human emotion of pain; its like it is aggravated and distressed that it cant change and it works with the song so well, we start to hear small changes that only hint at attempts to make something work/change only to be caught in the same note again(pain), then it carries on over the melody which I interpret as life is always painful, however it shows the human spirit of wanting to make it work...what?.... Wow. The musicality and innovation of this band is unheard of.
This comment is why CZcams and social media can we so cool. Hadn’t thought about it that way. Thank you.
It fuckin pulls at the heartstrings alright. I have no clear idea of the lyrics'meaning, no sentimental memory of the song. Yet it's been tearin me up for about a ,month now.
Crazy shit
I came up to Adam as he was wrapping up his cables after a gig 3 years ago and said hello; he stopped what he was doing and talked to me for ten minutes. I said goodbye first, not wanting to hold the man up too long. My point is, he is a gent.
Alex yeah listen to them live on radio and interviews; Adam's not only a gent, he's not a snob or elitist, he's real! Both serious and funny, serious about his music, his band, his guitars and amps (watch the guitar rig with Adam Granduciel), yet funny on radio performances, such as KFOG.
So, you actually met Adam Granofsky? Cool!! In interviews, he's very chill.....

Lyrics:
Go to bed now I can tell
Pain is on the way out now
Look away, a domino falls away
I know it's hard lookin' in
Knowin' that tomorrow you'll be back again
Hang your head and let me in, I'm waitin'
So long
I was staring into the light
When I saw you in the distance, I knew that you'd be mine
Am I movin' back in time?
Just standin' still?
I met a man with a broken back
He had a fear in his eyes that I could understand
I can't even shake the pain without breakin'
I've been pullin' on a wire, but it just won't break
I've been turnin' up the dial, but I hear no sound
I resist what I cannot change
And I wanna find what can't be found
I'm aware you're tired and lost
Like a demon in a doorway, waiting to be born
But I'm here all alone, just beggin'
Pull me close and let me hold you in
Give me the deeper understanding of who I am
Yeah, I'm going back again, I'm waiting here
I'm just pullin' on a wire, but it just won't break
I've been turnin' up a dial, but I hear no sound
I resist what I cannot change, own it in your own way
Yeah, I wanna find what can't be found

This song has always really resonated with me. I’m 29 years old and for 5 years have dealt with an autoimmune, inflammatory arthritis in my back that causes chronic pain that will likely only get worse. I first heard this song when I had been recently diagnosed, and it really did help cope through the pain in a small way. Thank you, TWOD!
Hi, try grass fed beef bone broth.
Yes, it's really hard to find any upside to dealing with chronic pain, but I've always found that music helps. I have chronic pancreatitis and sometimes just eating food can cause severe bouts of visceral pain. Nothing like sweating and literally being worn out and shaking from weakness from having to endure severe pain for hours on end. But, music definitely helps, sometimes a lot. Very thankful to have access to music such as this.
