Roy Orbison was one of the greatest vocal talents of his generation, and a remarkable human being, as well. His incredible singing voice was perhaps, in some way, enhanced by all the tragedy he endured in his life. You're my hero, Roy...RIP with your wife and children.
this was the only one. He had a contract with MGM for 5 movies but, at the time this movie was released it was a complete and utter box office failure and the cast & crew said Orbison didn’t give a shit about his performance at the time because of what he was going through even tho Roy said he liked it lmao
Gänsehaut sofort wenn er anfängt zu singen jedes Mal,,bin auch immer traurig 😢 weil ich weiß das das Schicksal nicht so gut zu ihm war..Dankeschön fürs schreiben lieber roy Orbison ❤❤
First heard this song in 1969 and grew up listening to the orig Mercury 45rpm at grandmother's house on my uncle's Philips battery powered record player. Didn't know there was a movie til years later. Wish he had of done more of this style as his vocals are perfect! I still have both 45 and record player still work perfectly fine 52 years later!! FANTASTIC song, my most favourite and the BEST one he ever sang! :)
i saw this movie last (4/20/2024) on the outlaw network. strange to see roy without his trademark sunglasses. yes, it was supposed to be in the old west. lol
That's the first time I've seen a video of Roy without sunglasses! I love his iconic sunglasses look, but he's lookin kinda like a studly Zoro here....alright :) WOW that vocal crescendo he did towards the end! Am"A"zing!
I'm going to comment on a few comments that are totally incorrect, to Gustavo Correa, he did not wear sunglasses because he thought his eyes were too small, and Tanaro Fubine, Roy wasn't blind either, the true story was Roy left his regular pair of glasses on a plane during a tour with the Beatles in 1963 it was a bright sunny day and had the courage to go on stage wearing them. Back then there was a stigma people wearing glasses was not cool, but like Buddy Holly he made it wearing glasses, and Roy put on a pair of prescription sunglasses he made them cool.
Roy was not Cross-eyed , blind, albino and did not think his eyes were too small. He left his clear pair of glasses on a low-winged chartered plane before a concert.. The shades became a trade mark..but yes he did need glasses since he had Mytopia..
Never heard this song or of this movie. This was cool, I heard that Orbison wore dark glasses because he was actually albino and his eyes were very sensitive to light. H e also colored his hair black when it was actually very light, don't know for sure if taht's true either.Don't know if that's true. What is true is he had an amazing voice
As far as I know he wasn't an albino, he was blonde with blue eyes. The dark shades became a trademark after he forgot his normal glasses and needed to relie on his sunnies on a concert.
Yeah Tanaro Fubine is just a loser. He just wants trouble. Roy had sensitivity to bright lights on stage so he needed prescription sunglasses. I have the same problem and get headaches easily. A lot of people have it. And he died at 52 from a huge heart attack.
Roy wore sunglasses because he thought his eyes were too small, and he didn't like them on photos. Well , that's a silly quarrel. The most important was his heretage in music, He influenced even the Beatles. That matters.
Gustavo Correa Roy Orbison wore sunglasses as he made mistake when walking on stage wearing them so it became his trademark and he wore them all the Time fact
Kevin Barker you’re both right! He was also slightly cross eyed and very self conscious of it, as it didn’t fit his image as a romantic balladeer, so that helped disguise this
we people and the world of music lost a truely great man the day they laid him to rest.....

that voice, song, flamenco strumming, and outfit. I love this.
FOOKIN' FANTASTIC; A TREAT.
Fantastic scene along with great singing.
on this day in 1967 {September 1st} Roy Orbison's movie "The Fastest Guitar Alive" opened in theaters in the U.S.A.
At the age of 20, 30, 40 or 50 the voice perfectly just brilliant. Truely a gifted man that loved to share his talent.
Great video watching the movie now on Turner Classic Moves , he sings songs all thru the movie
I never knew he made movies. Just saw him on TCM today. What a treat it was!

Oh. My..GOD. He is GORGEOUS.
Thanx for sharing!
Roy Orbison + high school Spanish + Ernest Borgnine = winning
Saw this movie on TV years ago, I was mesmerized. If Elvis ever had a match it was
Roy Orbison really hard to say who was cooler & better.
Elvis was cooler & Roy was better.

Roy Orbison only walk glasses because he made a mistake one day and walking on stage wearing them and that sort of became his trademark
Roy was not Cross-eyed , blind, albino and did not think his eyes were too small. He left his clear pair of glasses on a low-winged chartered plane before a concert.. The shades became a trade mark..but yes he did need glasses since he had Mytopia..

It’s a movie. He isn’t actually playing. He’s miming.

Roy fernandez jimenez banderas "el pistolero" Orbison
The only time Roy did NOT wear his trademark shades was in this movie!
Michael Boyce and before he had to first wear them when he left his normal glasses on a plane in 1963

I heard he wore sunglasses cuz he had stage fright and it would help on stage from focusing on the audience
