- In this video I show how I assembled and put together a Keter Store It Out Max 1200L Storage Shed for my garden. It was fairly simple and straightforward to do. I also constructed a wooden shed base for this shed. If you would like to see how I built it, please check out the link below. Also, If you would like to see how I assembled a Keter Darwin 6 x 4 Shed then there is a link down below to that video also. (I bought this shed with my own money. This is not a paid promotion)

I bought this years ago and never assembled it,the instructions got eaten by mice so your video was a godsend, especially when fitting the back. Thanks a lot. 😅
Haha I'm glad you found it useful!
excellent video couldnt have been more clearer thank you so much BRILLIANT
Thanks 👍🏻
I’m giving this a go today. I’ve done flat pack furniture but never anything like this so please wish me luck - I’m. Gonna need it lol who says I need a man?! Me today! lol x
Good luck 🤞🏻 it's not to bad on a good day.
Hi Phil, just want to say a huge thank you for your wonderful video! I’m a 62 year old woman and after watching your video I was able to put my 1200L Keter storage shed together on MY OWN!! 😂 Took me a lot longer than you as I had to keep going back over your video.
So thank you so much and keep up your good work. Xxx 🥰
That's brilliant Barbara! As long as it's up within a day I think that's a good result. Thanks for the lovely comment. 👍🏻
@@PhillWyattProjects I had it all finished in a few hours! I’ll be watching out for your videos now. Well done you! Thanks again. 🥰🥰
Im 63 and was wondering if I could do it myself without the fuss of arranging help. Confident now Ive watched this👍❤️👍
Thank you so much for this video as the instructions are clear as mud that came with or unit many thanks keep up the good work 👍
Thanks your welcome 👍🏻
Good video this helped me a lot yesterday when i put it together. Especially the rear panel!!!
Great to hear!
Hi Phill, thousand thanks for your video. I am also a 62 year old woman who managed to assemble this by following your video. It wouldn’t have been possible without your great instructions. I tried doing it without an electric drill but realized very quickly that it wouldn’t be possible 😂. Ordered a cheap one from Amazon which did the job. Once again thank you and lots of blessings. You’re a star 🎉.
Thank you very much for the lovely comment I really appreciate it. Glad to be of help! 👍🏻
Putting mine up over the next few days. Hoping it's as easy as you make it look 😊
Have fun!
After watching this I never even look at the instructions. Thank you.
Thanks your welcome 👍🏻
Thank you so very much it's my intention to purchase tomorrow at Argos💙🙏🏽
You are so welcome
Thanks pal. Video helped me out of a tight spot when Keter hadn’t sent me the instructions.
Your welcome 👍🏻
HI Phil I too am and 'Older lady) 71 tomorrow in fact. Yours was by far the most clear of the tutorials, as you actually take the time to show the individual pieces being put in place AND you don't loud music, assuming people know what to do - just by looking at the pictures. I did find that the back panel top outer screws would not go in - will have to wait for my son to come over to use his larger drill/driver I think. Thank you!
Thanks you for the encouraging comment and happy birthday! 🎂. Some stages of the assembly require a bit of persuasion to get everything lined up and in place.
I’ve just put my third one up and I still use this flipping video just to remind me how not to muck it up! Love yr channel Phill!!
Thank you very much 👍🏻
YOU NEED TO MAKE SURE WHEN YOU FIT THE METAL BAR THAT THE PIECE OF RED TAPE IS ON THE TOP RIGHT HAND SIDE AS YOU LOOK AT THE BOX FROM THE REAR 👍
Thanks for the tip.
I had two of these for years. Bone dry and spider free. That was until my son’s mate came barrelling down the garden on a new bike and smashed into it splitting the side🫣. But nevertheless, great shed and an absolute godsend in a garden as small as mine. Another great video from this channel 👍
Thank you 👍🏻 yea I agree they are good as long as they are looked after they do a good job keeping everything dry.
Glad you mentioned Spider free. Have just ordered one to store my push bike and dreading garden tarantulas moving in too. 😬
Thanks Phil for this clear, no fuzz, no crazy music to th point video much appreciated as I'm looking t purchase very soon 🎯
Your welcome 👍🏻
Thanks this was helpful to someone who struggled with the paper instructions due to a medical problem 😀
I'm glad you found it useful 👍🏻 cheers!
Thanks for the instructions, this would have taken me an age without the video! Super helpful thank you
Cheers your welcome 👍🏻
Thank you Phil, Great and easy to follow instructions on building the Keter Storage unit. You have now convinced me to buy one mate. Thanks again
Your welcome David. I like mine they are good as long as you look after them. Don't leave the doors or roof open on a windy day. Open doors carefully that sort of thing.
Thank you so much for your video! So glad I watched it before we're going to assemble the keter storage shed. I'm sure I'll be watching more of your videos as we go about getting our garden in order. Thank you!
Thanks! Your welcome 👍🏻
Hi Phill, had one of these sheds for three years now following separation and moving ! its amazing how much you can get in one, i had, lawn mower, pressure washer, strimmer, telescopic ladder, bistro table and chairs, etc. in the wettest and sunniest spot in the garden. never a drop of water got in...............so, i recently put up ketter factor 8"x11" shed (£850 for 4" in concrete base) but no regrets. spent extra £70 on roof verges, angle bead and CT1 sealant, screwed and glued for peace of mind living close to the sussex downs. and got another ketter baby shed to match the other one and keep big shed a bit clearer for my bike. (next chapter !) thanks for post, putting up toms.
Hi Dave I agree you can get quite a bit in these and I've never experienced any leaking either. I put a shelf in mine which makes the space more useful. I also have the Darwin 6 x 4 which I am glad I bought. Never leaked. Doesn't rot. I like these types of sheds. I would get a bigger one although I've run out of garden space now.
Hey Phill, thank you so much for this DIY video 🙏 Purchased this Keter shed over the weekend. It was easy to understand and assemble, esp for a female 😁needed some muscle for the screws but overall managed quite nicely. Def going to check out your video on how to build the shed base 👍great idea, neat and tidy.
Thank you Patricia 🙂 glad you found the video useful 👍🏻
Thank you so much for your how to video. Helped me to get the assembly quickly done and understand how some fit together! Good video and thumbs up from me!
Thank you 👍🏻
I put that together today actually with the instructions n stuff its good a little to clever for its own good really but it goes together well. The screws got me like as in i wasn't expecting the mountain of them to use.
really appreciate this video. much better than the manual and completed in just over half an hour
Your welcome Don and Thanks 👍🏻
Absolutely brilliant thank you...will be following your video tomorrow when I put this together
Your welcome 👍🏻
Thanks Phil
bought this in the summer but only just built it. your video was perfect and made the build stress free.
Thanks John that's great to hear 👍😃
Followed your video and managed to build my shed 🙌 thanks for sharing 👍 🙏 😊
Thanks your welcome 👍🏻
Brought one about 6 weeks ago and love the fact I can have some of my garden tools close to hand instead of a trip to my driveway garage every time I need to do a little job, mine took me about 70 minutes to do so not far off your time which pleased me
Yea they do seem a good buy. I will be adding a shelf to it soon to get the most out of the storage.
The metal bar on mine was too long and meant the rear wouldn't fit flush to the sides. I've since found out this is an issue many have found. I filed down one end and drilled a new hole, it then fitted perfectly. Not good they've knowingly got a product with a defect and haven't recalled them or offer customers a free replacement bar of the correct length.
I have heard about this from another comment. Mine was fine although I see some have these problems.
Ours came today, exactly the same problem. Thought I was going nuts. I don't have anything to file it down with. B&Q have said the whole thing will need swapping. Pain.
Got mine yesterday and my metal bar is too long! Why are they still being sent out?!
@@sharonappleton22I managed to do mine without filing it, made sure the bar was dead centre then pushed the sides in as much as possible and drilled. It curves slightly out each side at the rear at the top at the back where screwed, but the unit has been solid and works fine. Ordered one for my mum from argos which I put together and that bar did the same, don't know why they can't have one the right width lol
Nice flowers and I put my storage unit similar to yours together today.
Thanks! That's great 😃👍
Great video, saved us ages. Cheers 😊
Your welcome. Thanks.
Cheers Phill great video and much easier to understand than the instructions that come with it
No problem. Happy to help 👍
Thanks for this...using your video I just built mine...really helpful
Your welcome 👍🏻
Thanks Phil…..very useful. It takes longer than the 25 minutes the instructions state, took me about 1 hour 30 that’s with two of us doing it. Worth it though seems quite sturdy.
Your welcome Mike. Yea mine is still as good as new. Works well for me.
Nice one Phil ❤
Your welcome.
Instructions pretty easy but im struggling with the 2 black back boards that join together. After seeing some faults im starting to think i have 2 of the same pieces. 🤦♂️
Brilliant video. Thank you
No problem 👍🏻
Mine’s coming today …. I assembled the Keter bench a couple of days ago , fantastic bit of kit …. Thanks Phil watching your previous assembly guides this will be a breeze 👍
Great to hear!
very useful, thank you! we had no issue other than we inserter the upper lock of one door all the way in to the click before inserting the door in the lower hole (our mistake), so we had to find an alternative solution, but all came out very well anyway.
Glad you found the video useful! Thanks 👍🏻
What did ye do for an alternative solution? I did the same and the bottom pin came clean off too. 😪
Thank you for this! 😊
Your welcome 👍🏻
Excellent video
Cheers! 👍🏻
hello mate, i have just purchased this KETER XL storage, box, & your video came in very useful, so a big thanks, plus i have just subscribed to your channel, all the best, 🤝👍
Thank you very much 👍 great stuff 😃
Very helpful Video Phill. I am planning to buy one :)
Your welcome 👍🏻
This was a great help thank you. #Wickes was not a great experience. First they dumped the delivery on my front lawn - no signature. Secondly - instructions that came with it were completely inadequate - about 70% instructions missing. Anyone with no internet access hasn't a chance to figure it out.
Your welcome.
Great video
Cheers! 👍🏻
Thanks for the video. I inherited an old disassembled Keter storage unit with no instruction. I couldn’t get my head around the back panel before watching your video. The back panel design is a bit odd as I assumed (stupid me) that panels were a right and left affair. It seems that Keter has punched out two identical pieces to save money. It’s a poor design, which is not only aesthetically displeasing, but it also necessitates using two different lengths of screw when joining to the sides. Thanks again for posting this.
Thanks your welcome 👍🏻
Nice build Phil, I did the pallet wood version a few years ago and they are very useful.
Thanks Tony 👍 I'm a bit short on pallet wood at the moment 😆 used so much recently even did a pallet wood feature wall in a friend's house. So Need some more.
Hi Phil, any advice on how best to remove one of the door hinges? I stupidly pushed in WLBL(top door hinge) and no idea how to get it out to attach the door!
Hi Richard, I'm sorry but I am not sure. I did dismantle one of these a while ago and put it back up again. I was just careful and used a flat headed screw driver the push the plastic down to release it. There is no exact way to do it you just need to do it patiently. Hope this helps.
Got one of these though slightly different. Want to the it down to move. But can't unclipped the doors or the sides from the base. Any ideas ?
Thanks Phill. I just put together the smaller Midi one. Took me 45min without a power drill so I'm waiting to borrow one cause I'm sure they could use tightening but my instructions said nothing about that hole towards the bottom and I was wondering what it was there for and thankfully you solved my mystery so thank you very much! I'm just curious I just put it on the concrete do I need a base? It seems level.
Thanks Carol. If the concrete is level then it should be just fine like that.
any advice on how to dismantle one of these ?..... I've removed the roof and the back-panel,..... but cant seem to find a way to separate the sides and the doors, with their seemingly one-action snap mechanisms ?
Very helpful ! Are the back panel pieces supposed to go in a specific one top one bottom order or are they interchangable ?
All well and good but the metal support rod is longer than the back meaning the side panels don't sit flush on mine.
How much longer is the metal support than the back panel and sides total width?
@@PhillWyattProjects bout half inch, either side, I had to drill a hole in the metal bar. I checked other you tubers and they had to do the same. I got it sorted anyway it's up and so far so good 😁👍🏻
I got one of these last week and found exactly the same thing - first I thought it was me, but nope, the metal bar is a fraction too long. I filed down one end and re-drilled the end hole. Fitted perfectly after that, but clearly a design floor and I bet the manufacturer is aware of it - too costly to do a recall, so they sell them knowing there's a problem!
Yep me too utterly frustrating!
Great video- really useful. I have a problem though! When fitting the doors one of the spindles "jumped" (see 9.41 IN YOUR VIDEO- the bottom pin came out when I clicked the top part in) and now I can't get the click in door fitting back out to re-install the door. Any suggestions?
This happened to me too just now! Any suggestions welcome! Thanks
@@benwoods7399 I still haven't managed to fix it!
Any idea of how to get the hinge out? Basically had a mare with the door as I went to clip it in the hinge went in but the door came off hinge so now I can't get it back on without taking hinge out but it seems impossible ??
Hi, Sorry I am not sure if there is a simple way. I did pop one out a while ago when dismantling one of these kinds of sheds but if I remember I had to be firm with it and use some force although I can't explain exactly how I did it.
THANKS A BIG HELP tuck me a bit longer then you. but with out your vid all day lol
Glad to help! 👍🏻
Hi. Quick question. Do you have to have a base for the box or can it go straight in to concrete slabs? Thanks.
I made a wooden base for it although you can put it on a concrete base just needs to be level.
Thanks, can you fit a bicycle if you turn the handlebar to the side?
Hi Phil, Great video. Do you know what the depth of this storage shed is with the doors open? Many Thanks
Phil. I've made a big mistake by adding the small pieces into the frame before putting them on the door do now cannot put doors on. Help. Please
I'm not sure to be honest with you. You might need to be brave and use a bit of brute force to pop it back out although try to be careful as not to break something.
I did the same thing at the weekend and with brute force and getting my angles right I got them in !
the gas cylinders on my second hand were working fine till last week. they now fail to support the lid if the 2 bin lids are attached. is this fixable or do i need to order new parts?
Sorry to hear that. I am not sure how it can be fixed mine are fine at the moment. I would probably replace them as it might be more trouble than it's worth fixing them.
Thanks. I have just bought one but is there any way to fit a shed alarm? 🙂
Your welcome. I'm not sure about fitting an alarm to be honest.
Hi, I just opened mine up but couldnt find the accessories pack. Screws etc. Where should these be if not in the plastic as in the vid?
Mine came just how you see it in the video. It's possible that yours might be missing. They should be quite easy to find in the packaging.
Hi Phill do you do a demonstrayion on how to dismantle the shed safely
Regards
Tony
Sory Tony so far I haven't needed to dismantle it. When I do at some point I could do a vid but it won't be in the near future I'm afraid 👍
Thank you

Thanks ❤

Any videos on how to take one apart. (Moving house)
That would be a good video although I don't plan on taking this one apart for a while so cant help just now sorry
I've just bought 2 of these on an offer. Would you say there would be any benefit in gluing some or all of the parts together for extra strength?
That's a good question. I would say probably not I don't think it would make much difference though I could be wrong about that.
Keter has lots of bad reviews on Trustpilot regarding broken parts or missing bits on their storage boxes, I’ve just found that out to my misfortune as both the side walls on mine are damaged, customer service seems bad as well, I’ll just have to wait to find out.
I'm sorry to hear that. Luckily mine was fine although I can imagine how frustrating it would be to have problems like that.
Great video, do you think it would fit a flymo and small strimmer
Yes, absolutely
my holes are not lining with enthing on the back ?
Hi thanks for posting this video and can I ask you as I’m about to buy a second hand one but it is already assembled do you think it’s possible to take one of these apart? Thanks again
Hi, yea I'm sure it is possible as I bought one used myself once and it was dismantled so I could get it in the car. I then put it back together.
@@PhillWyattProjects did you dismantle it? Thanks
Were can i Buy brakets for my shelter 6 x 3 keter ?????
Hi Phil, a year later, how is it doing with the wind and rain? Also coudl it fit an adults bike and a few gardening tools? Cheers
Hi, it's doing good just like when I first put it up. Haven't had any problems with it so far. Not sure if it's quite long enough for an adult bike. Would be tight I think.
@@PhillWyattProjects cheers mate
Hi I have the midi version in the uk. What are they like for melting in direct sunlight?
I haven't experienced any melting. I've had 2 of these. Not had a problem putting them in direct sunlight.
@@PhillWyattProjects Ok thanks for the reply, I’ll risk it outside. Was wondering if they may warp in the heat
I'm dismantling and can't get the side's off. Any help appreciated 😊
Can you take the doors off if you got this part wrong
I think there is probably a way although I'm not sure how.
Hi the back panels seem to overlap rather than slot together. Is that right?
Yes they overlap slightly and the screws go through them to lock them in place.
@@PhillWyattProjects thanks
Hi Phil - built mine straight after watching your video, and on the whole it was pretty straightforward - only issue I had was fitting the metal brace bar to the top of the back wall and am wondering if I’ve made an error or had a faulty part. Having done my research before buying this shed it seems a lot of people have had the same issue, so I’m clearly not alone. When the bar is put in place and having aligned the holes in the top left corner and screwed it in, I found that the bar over hung the top right corner of the back wall so that when the bar hole is lined up with the hole in the back of the right wall it pushes the right wall out ie it won’t align properly / stay flush. Only solution was to cut c.5mm off the bar and drill a new hole in the bar. Not a major issue but odd that holes won’t align otherwise? Any thoughts as it seems you didn’t have this issue?
Hi Pete, I don't remember having this problem. I remember it being a bit fiddly to line up but it worked out fine. Sorry I can't give my thoughts.
I’m having exactly the same problem.
@@pmyzjc which either means there’s a batch of faulty parts or the instructions are inadequate - I wonder if anyone has raised it with Keter direct?
@@peteg5389 I’m going to take this up with Keter and see if they’ll send me a new one. Unless you’re up for popping round and cutting mine down too? I don’t have the tools or the skill to do it myself!
@@pmyzjc alas I suspect I’m miles away but do post an update and let us know what Keter say - good luck!
Will a bike fit in? I'm guessing probably only by removing a wheel
I don't think a man's bike quite fits even a 26" wheel. If you take a wheel off yea it will fit.
Are these easy to dismantle ?we want to move ours to a different part of the garden
They are not too bad I've done one before just be careful not to snap a y of the plastic clips.
Does it leak water inside? or do you find tons of webs/creepy crawlies in there when you open it?
Mine does not leak water. And I haven't seen webs or spiders in it yet either.
@@PhillWyattProjects thank you 😀💕
Hi
Made. Mistake on the door panel,
Ii inserted the door plug at the shed with out doing the door hook,
How do I correct it.
The plug won’t come out form the shed panels
Same happened to me 😢
Best way to take off sides from the base?
A few people have asked this although I'm not sure as I haven't had to dismantle this one yet.
how to dismantle the floor from side walls, any ideas?
@PhillWyattProjects
I am not sure actually. Maybe someone in the comments might have a suggestion.
Lid has broken due to a mishap, new lid delivered but do i need new screws or can I take the old lid off and use all the bits attaching it to the box
As long as the screws are undamaged then they should be fine in my opinion. Check that the lifters are not bent.
@@PhillWyattProjects Ok thank you. I dont know what the lifters are but hopefully whoever I ask to refit will know
@@PhillWyattProjects thanks for your help all done now
Hi, stupidly I put the hinges for the doors on first. How do I remedy this?
I am not sure how to rectify that. Maybe someone in the comments will have a solution.
Hi I'm dismantle the box how do you get the sides off again many thanks
I'm not sure to be honest I did take one apart years ago so I know it's possible but I can't remember how I did it.
Any videos on dismantling them?
Sorry I've not had to dismantle this shed yet so I can't advise at the moment 👍🏻
@@PhillWyattProjects I've just done it. Not easy and clearly not really designed to be moved once in place
I have just build this and accidentally put the doors on upside down. How do I dismantle them?
Hopefully someone in the comments might be able to help. I am not sure to be honest.
Are they easily disassembled if you move house?
I'm out sure about this particular model as I haven't dismantled it yet. I dismantled a similar one in the past and it wasn't too bad.
Can someone please tell me what screws these are please????
What do you mean? All the screws come with the product in a bag.
I thought this was a That Chapter video by the music 😊
Thanks! ....I think 😆
😊
Thanks for the video, I'm going to try assemble mine tomorrow by myself.
How do you take it down is the real question? 😂
I haven't tried yet so I'm not sure 😆
Dam it Phil you’re killing me here 😂 putting it ups east no one’s taken a video of it coming down 😂 (probably a good reason for that to be fair 😂)
Easy*
I’m in process of trying now. It’s the side panels causing an issue due to the fact they click in. So if there’s any pointers, it would be handy
@@martinp5184did you ever manage to get it dismantled?
Oh that looks very simple. I bet it’s not!
Was quite easy to put up.
I have one decent storage unit
Seems good and no need to worry about it rotting.
Took me 1 an half his middle back section very awkward🙈
Yea it can be a bit fiddly especially when the weather is cold.
Beats reading a manual, thanks
