Then they lost out on the PL title, but won the UCL, then they won the PL, then they struggled the following season, then they contested 4 titles, and won only 2 without scoring a single goal (so they clearly had an issue with build up play, which most teams figured out their game style. press, turn to full backs, cross. Then they entered a struggling season again. There are a lot of stuff to address. Madrid lost Ronaldo, they had a little adjustment to make without him, but that didn't change their spirit. Klopp's stubbornness is to blame solely for Liverpool's decline. Just try a new system to help the players that are struggling. Trent defensive deficiency can be helped by playing 3 in the back which will also help all your CBs. It's not rocket science a lot of teams have done it. It's why Anchelotti can say Liverpool are so predictable.
We don’t need £600 million worth of transfers to be competitive again tho. Literally two midfielders and some competition for Trent at RB. We have one of the worlds best keepers, a solid CB pairing (on their day), lots of attacking options. We will be fine.

Amazing passing. Amazing energy. Amazing defense by Nacho, Rudiger, Militao, and Carvajal. MVP game by Camavinga. Kroos and Modric had high energy and tenacity too, and kept Liverpool more defensive. They were able to do this because, as Don Carlo always says, Liverpool's game is easier to predict. Hence, Los Blancos can play their deadly open game.
Karim Benzema is kind of like prime Bousquets of Real Madrid in a way. You look at him and say it's easy what he's doing (except his insane finishing ability), while everyone knows it's not and the game is run trough him, he makes his teammates look better, there's a certain nonchalacy about his game. Now I'm not a Real Madrid fan but I do watch some of their games and have seen him misplace a pass just couple of times over the last 1 and half years or so that is ridiculous.
PS: it's not a comparison between Bousquets and Benzema (just drawing parallels) , pretty sure Benzema is bigger club legend.

The drop off has been so steep it’s clear n obvious that certain players maybe not all have lost a bit of faith in Klopp or simply aren’t listening to him quite as much anymore. On paper that starting 11 looks extremely good but on the field it’s a different story. They don’t control games anymore. Sure on their day they can destroy a team like they showed versus United however the consistency needed to win trophies week in week out is dead!!
It is just old legs in key players, and they need to be rotated with experienced but younger players. It is that simple.
We seem to have two loud polar opposites on this topic: (1) Klopp always burns players out; this drop was inevitable because of his style, and (2) these players are just as good as ever, they are just choosing to be lazy.
The truth is neither.
It is not about individuals being bad. But as a whole the midfield roster is not as energetic and physical as the squad that won the CL and PL trophies. That is not hard to fix, but letting players age out and run out contracts, and then hoping some academy kids deliver fantastic performances is not much of a plan.

Liverpool midfield is the problem for this whole season. The club need to sell Oxlade-Chamberlain, Curtis Jones, Harvey Elliott and Naby Keita this coming summer. And bring in a few high profile midfielders to the squad to complete for the title next season.

The second half at anfield was a shocker for Liverpool. Klopp needs to take some blame for his lack of control in his tactics. We never sit in like most teams would and defend in numbers, instead the full backs are still running up field
