Mane in the first half and salah’s 2nd half shot where courtois saved it with his arm sending it to a corner. Real had 2 shots on target, both went in, and one was allowed. They are the most successful European team of all time and it's actually quiet disrespectful talking about them like their a mid table premier league side that was lucky to be there. The fact that Steve Nicol termed Valverde’s assist as “A goal attempt that went wide and reached Vini” shows how biased he is. They could not handle his speed, fell back, and Valverde managed get the ball past 3 defenders to his left all the way Vini on the far left. Golden assist!

@@TheElChayanne did he say if he saw vinicius or not? Often those shots are shot/pass hybrids where you hope it might go into the corner but rely on the player running over there to put it in if going wide.
@@blanco7726 I don't think shot/pass hybrids exist, it's either a shot that turned into a pass or a pass or cross that turned into a shot because the player scored and given the fact that he said it was a shot regardless of if he saw Vinicius pretty much confirms that. Remember he could just be trying to take some credit for the "assist".
@@TheElChayanne no the shot/pass hybrid is one of the most dangerous touches a player can take, of course only if there is a player or two at the back post.
Basically with the player at the back post, your margin of error is way larger and you can smack it as hard as you can, without worrying too much about accuracy.
Not saying this was intentionally a shot/pass, but I have seen it many times, it happens mostly when the box is crowded and you only have a 50/50 opening in the defense. So the shooter just aims to the side of the defender where the ball will certainly pass through, even if they know they have to hit it closer to the defender to slide it into the corner, they hit it a little more wide because they know if it misses theres a chance another player will get their foot on it.

Stevie's Liverpool bias got the best of him. It was clear Madrid had a plan to just sit back soak up the pressure and counter and they did it to perfection. If Madrid had conceded a goal they would have been more than capable to readjust and break Liverpool down. Madrid's defending was top class, a lot interceptions, blocked shots and they passed out of the press in some tight spaces. Liverpool fans can cry all they want but the better team one today.

They actually never really countered other than a couple failed chances. That goal was a typical run down the wing with a hard shot that turned into a pass to the second post where Vinicius was left wide open by Arnold who was in no man’s land between Benzema(who was marked by Konate) and Vinicius. Of course Liverpool also failed to score. A team like man city would of actually scored a couple goals on them in a one game match.

I'm a Liverpool fan (I also like Real Madrid), but I was pretty sure Real Madrid would win. They simply have some special quality, an incredible faith, a superior professionalism, belief in each other, and resilience, not to mention talent. The commentators STILL won't accept the fact that this Real Madrid team is a great TEAM. Not a great bunch of players, not the most talented individual collection of players, not the flashiest team in the world, but a great TEAM. Great COACH. Period. And this Champion's League has proved yet again that this is what football is all about.

You guys know that Liverpool didn't have 70% of the possession right? and it was only 54%... So Madrid must have been able to hold possession of the ball and play around the press at times. The match is also for 90 minutes and Madrid scored two legitimate goals with 1 being unfairly disallowed and in addition 2 great chances to score with Casemiro and Cebellas but they fluff their lines...yes Liverpool created chances and Courtois was fantastic but Madrid had opportunities as well... There needs to be more balance coverage at ESPNFC (the PL and Liverpool bias is way over the top at the moment)

The Spanish teams learned in the seventies with Brazil that in order to take the speed away from very fast teams like the English, German or Dutch teams, the best way to play them is to slow down the tempo of the games. Fast teams are totally lost with slow games. That's what Real Madrid did today. Liverpool were kind of lost with the slow tempo of the game plus Real Madrid always finds the opportunity to score at the right moment knowing that their opportunity will be there.

Must I tell you what the real reason is? CULTURE . . .without saying too much, Real Madrid has a team of Managers playing on the pitch.
Courtois had a legendary performance. But as a unit, I think Real Madrid played excellent. Very sharp defensively, fighting after possession lost, touches were soo good, long balling out of their box to initiate counter attacks, and somehow after the first 20 minutes had steadied the pace and controlled the game up until the goals.
According to ESPN a Madrid defence was poor because Courtois made a few top saves.... The Bias from ESPn is funny...

Madrid contained them pretty well in not giving them clear cut chances. Madrid might not have much but that Benzema chance he fluffed initially was better than all Liverpool's chances. If that was a Salah or a Mane, I'd be very scared.. Benzema as good as he is is not a great 1v1 player..still one more player to go through and he fluffed it. Also , Vinicius got the best chance of the night and converted it..that was a literal tap in.. Liverpool didn't create any quality chance like that

Real Madrid simply put CONTROLLED THE GAME they didn’t let Liverpool push the pace and of course the goalkeeper plus the defenders did an excellent job of hounding the front three. They executed the plan to perfection and deserved the win simple as that.
Liverpool fixtures were some of the easiest meanwhile madrid had arguably the toughest. No doubt who was deserving of the trophy....
