I might try out a WOA just to see if I like it better than my ILR. I like how you matched them by specific gravity similarities.
The shave quality was similar. I am not sure it would be an upgrade more than an option for variety. A different feeling honing sensation . But don’t let me stop you, I know I rarely see stone I turn my nose up at 😜

Yeah, hi-mag is problematic when looking at natural edge results. 4x-8x is actually a better level.
A decent 20x hobby scope is still pretty good though…
In truth, when I’m using a natural, especially a Coti I rarely use a loop. Reading feedback through my pressure reduction and undercut lead the ways for me most of the time. I do rely on a loop for synthetics. Microscopes are neat and fun, as long as a fella does not let them lead to chairing his tail, I see not issue with them.

The only place I know you find the ILR stones are on eBay or their website.

No I think it’s supposed to be a 7/8” but it measures 8/8
