    Excellent footage. So nice to see propeller driven aircraft whose props actually look like they are propelling the plane. Tired of seeing props that look static or look like strobe effects. Prop wash is one of the beauties and grace of prop driven aircraft. Thank you and God Bless from Florida.

    • @wilburfinnigan2142
      @wilburfinnigan2142 Před 5 lety

      @@MegaBoilermaker BUT dumb ass those Bristol sleeve valve engines were JUNK !!!!! Why they are not in those planes !!!!! PACKARD was NOT "too happy" to build the Merlin !!!!! They were busy building the M2500 PT boat engines and delivering them to the US Navy and the Brits in 1938 !!!! Jesse Vincent was also working on an air version of the same engine with a TWO STAGE supercharger when RR Came on their begging mission to PACKARD !!!!AND the USAAF wanted PACKARD to build the R3350 Wright for the B29 Program , which Chrysler ended up building !!!!! The first 3,000 V1650-1 Merlin engines, a SINGLE stage supercharged version, the most widely used version, of the war appears to be a "Bribe" to get PACKARD to build the Merlin !!!!! USAAF had NO plane for that engine !!!!! So the 3,000 engines were installed in the P40 F & L's and it made NO DIFFERENCE in the overall performance of the P40 !!!! The Allison version was FASTER, CLIMBED faster, rolled Faster !!! The only advantage the Merlin had was 1,000 ft in service ceiling !!!!!! And after 1311 plane they returned production to the Allison engine !!!! See book "PACKARD as an AERO Engine Builder" Paackard Merlin, by Robet J Neal....Available on line FREE !!!
