- Welcome to the Power Apps Model-Driven Apps Step by Step series for the beginner. You are watching the eleventh episode of this series and during this session, we will learn how you can send an email notification when Business Process Flow (BPF) changes its stage. We have created a BPF which has four different stages. Once HR completes the task they are sending the email notification to IT admin to complete their tasks! After that Manager and new joinee will also receive the email notification. So, let’s get started and talk more during this video!
First, we will create a Cloud flow that sends the email notification when the stage is updated in our BPF. We also need to get row information from our OOTB Process table. Then we need to set a Deep Link that will redirect the user to the specific item when they click on the link. At last, we will test our entire BPF with the different roles!
So, let’s get started and learn how to add Business Process Flow!!
You will learn the following concepts:
1. Send Email Notifications when BPF Changes its stage
2. BPF to send Email Notifications
3. Send Notifications from Business Process Flow
4. Deep Links in Model-Driven Apps

Title says email from
Business Process Flow but you just created a declarative was cloud flow instead. Isnt there a way to trigger from Process Flow itself?
Can you provide the video, where you said you will add javascript inorder to restrict other roles to view pages
Well, that is just impressive, thank you so much, Mr. Shah. I have one technical question and one general question. For the technical one: can we restrict the stages to be per user/group? In other words, can we only show IT Admin Stage for users who are in a security group that is called IT Admin (just as an example)?
As for the general question, my team and I have been working on multiple projects using Sharepoint and Azure SQL as our data sources and we have built very extensive Canvas apps. We are looking into the Model-Driver apps and we do have to start modeling our data in Dataverse. It seems to me that for the Model-Driven apps, it is useful and straightforward when it comes to projects that have yet to have data/databases in place, am I right? For example, if we have our data in Azure SQL, (10s of tables and thousands of records, and data was modeled and relationships are in place), is it still useful to do the move to the Dataverse and to the Model-Driven apps?
