They are non slip work shoes, same kind people wear in restaurants. The logs are fairly non slip to begin with by design but it does feel like something that should be regulated since that’s definitely an advantage

Other dude knew it was his only shot. I have to imagine having more weight helps a lot in this in regards to your ability to control the log. If you're both trying to go opposite ways, you're more likely going to get it to go your desired direction having that added weight I would think.

I could tell Lyle was going to win from the beginning. Completely chill and unphased by anything when his opponent was trying everything to mess him up.

I don't know the rules to this but deliberately splashing water on your opponents face feels like an underhanded move, even if it is legal. And especially since the other guy wasn't doing that, I was kind of rooting for him to win too.

Also I said this already- it may be legal but it still feels like an underhanded move like it may not be in the spirit of the game. It's trying to test your ability to balance on the log and if you have to distract your opponent by splashing water on their face, it takes away from the purpose of the game. It's like a running race where you're allowed to kick your opponent's shin or trip them. Yes, it's allowed and technically the only goal is to reach the finish line first but if you have to trip your opponent to win maybe you don't deserve to?

The man who won also has a stout, "spread-out-wide" frame with thick legs. And the taller guy has much skinnier legs and a thin torso. The winner likely has greater skill at balancing, but the other guy is at a clear competitive disadvantage.

I thought I was the shit yesterday for being able to somewhat balance (plenty of wobblin still) on one of those concrete beams in front of a parking spot at a gas station, but this takes it to a whole new level and i just found my next challenge
From the beginning, I knew how it would end. When you’re too focused on bringing someone down, you forget to keep yourself up, while the person you are trying to bring down is way too focused on succeeding and overcoming obstacles.
