This stuff used to be on ESPN back in the day and it was always fun to watch.
Also, Wide World Of Sports
I admire the tasks that lumberjacks and lumber jills perform.
It's no small feat, even with modern logging tools & equipment!
When I was a kid...my family went to a lumberjack festival and I watched my Dad climb up that pole...faster than the other men, too. So much fun.
That's awesome! Who is your dad??
@@lumberjackworldchampionships my dad passed away in 1981....he was 57....he was such an amazing man...... so popular in town cuz he was the main hockey coach in the hockey school.... his boys went on to win the state championship for 2yrs in a row. The good reality do die young
My mom was also very good at climbing up and down a pole.
I went to Red Pine camp for girls in Minocqua Wisconsin back in the late '60s and we had a log that we used to roll in the water you had to stand on and run without falling off! I got pretty good at it too!
This story brought back some great memories
My ANCESTORS , from the BASQUE COUNTRY , NORTH SPAIN & SOUTH FRANCE , we're in INDUSTRY even BEFORE , AMERICA was DISCOVERED , it's a very BIG SPORT in that REGION and the ARTESAN 🪓 AXE production is VERY MUCH ‼️😉💯.... A LIVE ......
Didn't think much of it till I went to one and found how exciting it really is!
Let’s hear it for Northland College, the home of the Lumberjacks and Lumberjills , it’s about an hour and a half north of Hayward in a city Ashland, on Lake Superior.
"I'm a lumberjack and I'm okay....."🎶🎶🎶
o thats cool this all started in west virginia.. its also cool that all the stuff theyre doing actually serves practical purposes when actually working, i thought maybe some of it was jus made up to test n showcase a certain skill a lot of work i do is treework but i wouldnt title myself a lumberjack, these dudes r on a whole other level
I used to watch the world lumberjack championships on ESPN. My favorite event the log rolling competition.
Who knew sport of lumberjack could be so interesting!
Even my dog had a flannel after the video 😂
Amazing video
They are called lumber carnivals for a reason. No Mention of Oregon? That seems odd.
They were covering the World Championship held in Hayward, Wi.
Just like any another sport
Why is this not an Olympic sport?
The Lumberjackoffs.
Oh my, lawn bowlers will be so upset.
What if one of the men became a lumberjill, that would tip the scales
Lumberjill is the female version of Lumberjack
1:40 si caes el pitillo pierdes, da igual que lances un hacha de 50 kilos al centro atomico, pierdes
Cue Monty Python's gay lumberjack song (please cut down the remaining trees. Not like we need them).
Everybody hates trees!
Cut more timber , wisely
🧘🧘♂️
Why not call them Lumberjackies instead of Lumberjills 🤔?
Interesting, but it better never become an Olympic event.
Seems like a waste of good wood. “Things my wife also says”
You can still use it as stove fuel...
wasting wood for the sake of nothing; and then complain about low oxygen levels in the world
Set to the song from Monty Python , for the wokeies.
While we were doing this the Chinese were developing better AI. Different ways to focus our future, I suppose. Best of luck to all of us!
Well, we have MAGAs who think that a cultural rollback to about 1955 makes sense.
It's a sport! Like all the others WE do while the Chinese are doing whatever they do. Has nothing to do with going back to 1955. Look at all the sports competitions there are: besides foot, basket, base ball, soccer, swimming, la crosse, curling, skiing, skating, card game tournaments, bowling, golfing, pickleball, tennis, badminton, croquet, cricket, etc etc.....
Dude, it's just a sport...
