    Best Thorough walk-thru of this fork seal job I have seen. Wish you had it up four years ago, when I last did this on an R6 - I saw here that there were a coupla steps I omitted completely, and I didn't make note of all the adjustment settings. I'm feeling much better about getting it Totally Right this time!👍👍👍

    Thank you for the video. It’s nice watching the process. I still feel better sending it to my suspension service center than doing it myself. Love your little tricks and practical methods. What I’d really like to know is how and where in the world did you learn how to do this ? Cause it’s impressive.

    haven't done a "newer" R6, wanted to see if there was anything weird about them... pretty straight forward / great video.
    Only caviot, Fun fact about fork oil, there's no "standard" for weight across brands, the weight is a comparison only within the brands lineup.... so changing brands is likely changing the weight, even if the number on the bottle is the same, so changing brands may require a re-tune also.

    Not sure if it’s just me but every time I watch a bike video, if there’s a track related sticker, I always catch it lol.
    Thanks for the how to. I was looking for an online service manual to follow and this will probably supplement that once I find a manual.

    Nice job on the video and walk through. Background music was very distracting though. Are those cap bolts really 36mm? On my 2007 Yamaha r6 they are a 41mm I believe.

    Hey man, great video! I've worked on practically every part of my bike, besides the forks, and now in need of replacing the fork seals. This was definitely very informative. What was the white grease you were applying to the seals? Is that just any regular bike lubricant?

      Thank you sir! if you have any questions feel free to reach out! ..... as for the grease, I'm pretty sure its white lithium grease, its just a small layer to help the seal slide into the fork, and it helps with the initial first few miles of movement where it would otherwise be dry.

    I would like to know how much cost for this labor fee in a local shop in Los Angeles.
    My R6 Is overdue fork maintenance and I need to get it done 😊

      I’m on the east coast, most of the time they charge more if you bring the entire bike. If you remove the forks and take just those to the shop, they can have it done in one to two days for a lower price; less work.

    Hi I have a question. Do you know how tight should I tighten the screws at the top?(I mean how many Nm) I only found in the manual how many Nm tighten the screws holding the wheel. It would help me a lot

      What ever it is it should convert to ft lbs in the torque wrench when you set it.
      It’ll be in the dial

    Awesome video man. I’m about to do this on my 2011 r6. One question, I’m looking for the torque spec for the pinch bolts holding the forks into the triple clamp but can’t find it anywhere? How did you clamp them back in, and is blue locktite necessary?

    • @solidhamster
      @solidhamster Před 2 měsíci

      17 ft-lbs is the spec for a 2003-2005, so it isn't much
