2007 Yamaha YZF R6 Ownership Review After 7 Years | My Dream Bike

- 👋 After an amazing 7 years of ownership of my 2007 Yamaha YZF R6, here are my long term thought on this sport bike! Also, this is my last ride. As life changes I'm just not putting the miles on the R6 like I used too. Over the years I've done several 200-300 mile mountain trips on the weekends and even used the R6 as a commuter bike when I had a normal full time job. I'd even go grocery shopping in my single apartment living days with my backpack. now tho, I spend a lot more time doing house projects and going on road trips in our cars with my wife. The last year I only rode the R6 900 miles vs my typical 3,000. So I decided to sell my R6 and film one last video of my long term ownership. Overall this was a great bike! I love how fast it is and how well it handles. The R6 is a track focused sport bike and is just so at home ripping through the mountains. I never had one single issue with my R6 over the years and it has been cheap and reliable to own. I bought this bike in 2017 with 12k miles and sold it with almost 27k miles. Crazy enough the market for motorcycles like this has gone up and I bought this bike for $4,600 and sold it for $5,600! Not bad at all to own my dream sport bike for so many years and make a profit. I can't say enough good things about the 2007 R6. I found it very comfortable and easy to ride. I could go all day on it and not be all too worn out. The R6 can be a good beginner bike too if you keep it in low RPM's. The power comes alive after 8k and then it rips! Also sad to see the R6 in general leave the brand and get replaced with the R7 which is more of an entry level bike. The R6 will always be my dream bike and I can't put a price on the fun memories going on rides on this bike! I grew up riding Yamaha dirtbikes and even raced AMA all through high school. So owning the R6 was always my goal and this bike served it's purpose for me! I will miss it, but I'm just not getting the use out of it like the old days. For now the R6 is on to a new home with the generation of sport bike enthusiasts and I hope the new owner has just as many good memories on this amazing machine!

Saw one of these for sale up on craigslist for 6k, got heart eyes and everything when i saw it so im glad i found this review
Oh sweet! Such a great bike!
Heyy, I remember when you bought the R6! I used to ride dirt bikes and motorcycles all the time as well until I got into cars. Lol. Glad to see it is going to a good home 😎
Oh nice! Such a fun bike! We have been getting more into dirt bikes lately tho! So I still got some two wheel fun happening! But certainly having more fun in the cars now!
My late cousin almost killed me while I was riding on the back of his Yamaha V-Max i dig bikes 🏍 but from a distance. The kid buying it should have fun.
Yeah they can be dangerous. I always rode defensively and had a great time! I hope the new owner has just as much fun!
❤
Fun bike!
In Costa Rica this very same motorcycle Cost around 12 to 13 thousand dollars…
Brand new or used? Thats a brand new price in the US.
@@BrosFOURRSpeed A used one the year as yours… they’re way way expensive…
Is it possible to install a gear indicator or gauge on this bike, if I may ask?
That could be possible, but don't know the work or cost for something like that. Probably not worth it though.
@@BrosFOURRSpeed I see, no stress then, thanks for the advice...
I sold my R6 1999 recently, I know how you feel. 😭
Such great bikes for sure!
Poor bike. Has an ugly wheel. Sell.
The wheels are pretty similar to every other sport bike
@@BrosFOURRSpeed sell them all.
What exhaust set up is on that?
Catless mid pipe and GYTR slip on
In Cali, 2007 R6 30k miles not original fairings for $5.6k? Fair ?
I'd go lower. Sold this for $5,600 all original parts with 27k miles. I'd go closer to $5k if a bike has replacement fairings. What got damaged to have them be replaced?
@@BrosFOURRSpeed thanks for the response!! Passing on this one better one will come along
@@TheeSchizoKing No probably! I’m sure a good one will pop up!
Did you sell it ?👀
Yeah, it sold quick!
Time to trade it in for a 92 Saturn SL1.
I’ll stick with the Lambo lol
@@BrosFOURRSpeed Saturn gives you a planet feel. It lets you feel associated with Saturn.
Yeah I'll pass lol. Saturn went away a long time ago. The Sky was cool back in the day. I remember looking at those at the dealers when I was a kid
@@BrosFOURRSpeed you wanted an SC-2.
@@ericB3444 I’ll still stick with my Lambo lol
Don’t lie you are old 😜
Haha you still got me by a few years Mr. 😂😂
Noooo!!! Not the R6
Had a good 7 years. Things change as life goes on tho
@@BrosFOURRSpeed completely understandable, you’re the reason I got my 07 Yamaha R6 instead of a CBR600 and I appreciate you for that.
Stay safe man, blessings to your future!
@@user-du5bx9db9p oh cool! Great bike for sure and certainly full of fun memories for me! Enjoy yours!
Big 0/10
