About Raiden's weapon recommendations, I think it would be a nice feature if the guide took into account the artifact set that you currently have equipped on your character. For example, if you had a 4pc pale flame set on razor you would get recommended weapons like SoBP or WGS, but if you had gilded dreams equipped, you would get recommended weapons like rain slasher or mailed flower.

So if 10 players have weapon A, and all 10 use it (100%), that will be "High Use", and if 1000 people have weapon B, but only 50 people use it (5%), then that will be "Low Use", despite 5x more players using it... at least that seems to be how their other rankings work.

It's very simple: it does not substitute knowledge. It recommended a piece for my Yelan wich would rise my crit. dmg by about 20% but would also plummet my er by about 40%. So you have to be able to say, "yeah that's more damage but it's way worse nevertheless". On the other hand it brought up some items I hadn't considered yet that actually improved some of my builds, when you have so many artifacts it's normal that you overlook some better choice. So I'd say it's useful but knowledge dependent.
Now, for people who have no clue nor care, it could be great.

Also, for weapon recommendations, there should be an option that shows the placing of weapons that You don't have yet and how to obtain Them.

The only thing I have with it is, it keeps recommending upgrades even though they're not needed.
The most useful thing the guide did for me, it pointed out that one of my characters doesn't have fully upgraded artifacts which is a thing I completely forgot about. On the other hand it recommended me to swap artifacts on my Gorou just because I have him on Exile and it thinks all characters need to be on 5* sets.
Also it keeps recommending to upgrade talents all the way up to 10 everywhere.
Overall I think for new and casual players it's great thing. Not that useful for hardcore and minmaxers but it was never intended for them.

At least it's something they can improve on

One problem that I have with this is that it keeps recommending you level your characters to 90, no matter what. For example, I keep my Jean at level 80 because I'm not using her in sunfire, and shes basically only a healbot for my Furina teams, but it keeps recommending I bring her to 90. If a new player were to see this, they might think 90 is something that's super important and end up leveling suboptimal characters there and end up wasting a bunch of resources on it.

  • @spyrothetimelord

I literally forgot this existed as soon as I got into the update. And hey I am a Jade Cutter Shinobu truther.
Interesting to note about the builds and weapons; that was one of the things I disliked when they introduced the artifact recommendation feature a while ago, since team and investment impact main stats (like some dps want an atk, EM, or hp circlet with high crit value). And then not recommending which weapon is best for each build (like electro vs atk goblet for Raiden builds).
Rather than allow for user "correction" submissions, which can vary between users, I think they should really just think about updating their own database of builds based mathematically on what players use that are both viable and better (like I'm still not over my girl Layla having 4pc blizzard in every single trial). They arguably need to also implement something about constellations, since sometimes that also changes builds (maybe no longer needing ER sands, or maybe you need/want a different weapon now). I guess it looks good overall but yeah, there's a lot of nuance and context for each character's different builds and investment level for such a basic version of this.

The main issue I see aside from the weapons is it recommends leveling every character to level 90 at world level 8 before switching the red mark off, when in actuality that’s such a resource drain it’s usually not a great idea with a handful of exceptions. It also recommends leveling every artifact to a 5 star level 20 and most talents to like 8 or 9, which is less egregious but can still encourage inefficient resource expenditure on the characters who don’t necessarily need high stats to function. Like a vv anemo character appreciates stats but as long as they have a set they don’t need super high stats to function in their role. It’s not too bad since these are the settings for world level 8, but it could still be a problem in some cases

the best way to do it is making it similar to PGR team guides it shows you multiple teams and you can like them and the most liked ones will show first they can do it with builds show you the whole build Artifact+Weapon in a pannel And you will choose the most liked one because people will try multiple builds and if they don't like them they will switch to a different build and like that one so it will be recommended to other people
or they could just start building their characters the right way and give us the builds themselves like pgr does

Yeah the crowd sourcing is a problem. My guess as to what's happening with the EM characters is that, if you have older characters like Thoma, "built but benched," the game is still pulling that data. So a lot of people who are using Thoma today are building him EM I would imagine but his meta isn't people fairly represented. Then that is compounded, as you've said, by not having the full set of weapons listed. If they don't fix this system, they probably need to add an advanced tutorial that describes character builds so new players can develop that critical thinking skill.

  • @AmirPrinceling
    @AmirPrinceling Před 3 měsíci +4

I don't really mind the Guide. It's a good resource for new players who don't know much about the game. But if a player builds EM Raiden and decides to give their Ei Homa instead of Dragon's Bane, that's their own lack of critical thinking. If you don't read what your characters do, don't look up guides, and so on then that's more of a player problem than anything else.
Most of it is tabbed by Statistics, like Talent Priority and whatnot. If you're playing a character like Hu Tao, it should be a given that you'd level NAs along with Skill.

I think the point of marechausee and furina would be horrible for newer players because unless they know that it only works only with furina then if they dont figure it out they would have no set basically
I think sticking to characters solo build makes more sense for newer players so that when they do start getting deep into teams and builds they would figure out furina would make marechausee work on most carries
Also another thing is i think it would be great to add diffrent build sections to this so players can know they can build some unites diffrently

I checked what artifact build it recommended for my Beidou and it seems to be focused on getting characters on appropriate sets and ignores rational stats - it suggested replacing my ER sands with an HP sands as well as swapping all the pieces I had with ER sub stats with others even though I was on the same 2p/2p build. In the “after” stats it presented it showed a an increase in attack while reducing ER to nothing so it seems like it doesn’t consider ER to be a relevant stat at all (I’m not sure if there are settings I can tweak to change that but neither would a brand new, confused player).
I actually was also thinking of a team builder guide. I was thinking there could be a sort of guided team builder mode that shows a dropdown list of common “roles” in a team that let the player designate what role they’re slotting a character into. So a player can identify who they think they are using as their main damage dealer (or multiple damage dealers). They can indicate characters that are being used as buffers and maybe there could be linked reference materials that show sources of buffs (artifact sets like VV, Noblesse, etc, weapons like TTDS, characters with buffs in their kit, etc). There can be some way of indicating which characters have off-field roles available to get the wheels churning in new players’ heads that they should be combining on and off-field roles. They can make elemental resonance more prominent as well as indicate which possible elemental reactions are available in a particular team build (with buffed raw damage an option as well, such as with a mono team with VV or a buffing character). And it can provide a reference guide with various team archetypes that further explain different roles that are key to each one and provide examples of key artifact sets/weapons/characters for each one. The player can select which archetype they’re going for to provide more niche guidance for things like artifact recommendations.
Then maybe in that same mode the player could save the team as a preset AS WELL AS all the applied weapons and artifact loadouts. Then let players pull from those presets and loadouts for the Abyss. Helps more casual players with guidance and more hardcore players by giving them their precious, precious loadouts all at once.
Speaking of reference guides…there should be more/better in-game reference guides! With links and navigations! There can be a whole section devoted to artifacts in general that classify available artifact sets into categories (teamwide buffing sets, healing sets, various categories of damage-boosting sets, etc). And link to related information! Like in the adventure guide where it lists all the enemies if a player looks up the drops it should say right there which characters use those drops. In-game reference guides should be designed so players don’t have to Google for basic information like that.

so, the rankings of any particular set doesn't carry with it a specific proportion of the builds out there: for instance the third ranked set or weapon could be represented in 25% of builds or it could be in 5% of builds and as long as it's third in rank out of the options available we see the same thing. because of that, when we look at raiden, there are a couple key facts to keep in mind. first, far more players have extensively farmed gilded dreams than have paradise lost. those are pretty much the two choices for a hyperbloom raiden build, and more importantly, being an alternate build, hyperbloom raiden is more the type of thing you build when you find you have the pieces than that you go out and farm for specifically (also let's keep in mind how widespread in range of use both sets in a domain are as a whole). on the other hand, when it comes to EM spears, we might not be spoiled for choice but we certainly have options. would more players have and use this past year's new battle pass spear or some the other options besides dragon's bane than would have farmed a full set of paradise lost EM pieces? i think it's fair to say that's likely.
none of this is in opposition to your overall criticism, i just wanted to go into how we got the results we see for raiden. like, when they do these by aggregates this is what we're going to get, and it's hard (but not impossible) to build something that functions more intricately

It's a decent for entry-level advice. I did not look at guides or anything when I first started playing, so an in-game recommendation probably would have helped a little bit. And sure, there were some funny moments in the artifact recommendation tab, sometimes it wanted to absolutely nuke my ER, or have 26 CR with 250 CD instead of a 1:2 ratio. But I have to say there were also times where I looked at their recommended build and was actually impressed, at least 3 or 4 characters got a buff yesterday due to that. I even had to double check on Keqing Mains a couple of timesl lol. So it's definitely worth going over it to check I'd say! 😂

Idk on Navia I've seen quite a few ppl use Unforged on her and yet the game doesn't say it has a high usage rate. I'm sorry but Unforged is probably one of the best substitutes for her weapons if you can achieve high crit on her without a weapon, since she uses the crystallized reaction and well crystallized makes a shield so it helps with survivability a bit if needed (idk Navia deletes stuff even with lvl 6 talents) but also Unforged increases the atk buff by 100% when protected by a shield.
Nope according to hoyo Redhorn Stonethresher is higher usage and I'm guessing it's because the high crit damage it gives but I don't believe it. Besides I finally just got Itto so I'll be darned if I'm gonna take redhorn off him as I also finally got that as well. Also just thought it could be because most ppl don't have Unforged, tbh I wouldn't be surprised I haven't seen it rerun in a good while. For those who don't know The Unforged is the black and white looking Claymore, basically it strengthens shields by 20% and when scoring a hit you increase atk by 4% per stack max 5 stacks and with a shield the atk increased is increased by 100%. It's pretty solid for most characters who need atk and can use a shield whicb ig is anyone. Most use it for Noelle but on Navia it's really good.
Idk the guide is great for new players but it'll be better if they showed highest weapon regardless if you own it or not like Honkai Impact that way new players also know what weapon to chase for that character, granted with most limited characters it's obvious. Anyways so sorry for this comment being pretty long.

  • @robingrob9717
    @robingrob9717 Před 3 měsíci

The problem with it is that it is based on usage rates. Thats why it doesn't suggest mistsplitter on bennet and cashflow on wanderer. Alot of people that have these weapons and units will not put them on these units. Like you don't pull mistsplitter to put it on bennet. You pull it for your dps and then you put it on your dps. It is bennets best weapon but very few people who have it will put it on bennet because they are too lazy to switch around all the time. And then again its all based on usage not actual meta so the characters very few people have/equip will be more accurate while strong supports like furina will be rather tainted with bad weapon choices simply because people will slap their 5 star stat sticks on her instead of getting pipe, people putting suboptimal 5 stars on her because they only have a few and need them on other characters aso. This is fine for their acc but regarding the overall meta its wrong. A system like that based on usage rate can never work in genshin because how account dependent alot of these weapon choices are and how casual the general player base of genshin is.
Of course i put my mistsplitter on bennet when I can but someone who got it for ayaka and plays casually might not even know that it is a good thing to do even if they barely use ayaka anymore. People don't think about it or do research after their initial building.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but from my understanding - it seems that it's simply showing you what people are commonly using, not actively telling you to go for that, even if it is in a, well, *training guide*. But that aside, the much bigger thing is - if it's based off of player usage, what kind of usage does it take? Any? Or just if you have them in your party? Or actually put them on the field and use their attacks/skills? So many people swap weapons around or use characters as placeholders for a set or whatever, which can really mess with the data, if not taken into account somehow. And the 5-star thing, is that external bias, purposefully set by mhy? Or is it based entirely off of people preferring to use 5-stars, likely unaware that they aren't always the best?

  • @magiclover9346
