They just made a character that has the most elemental application, high damage, and defensive utility, all while being a 4 star

As with every video about Zhongli, I still think that in harder content (Abyss), the DPS loss from bringing him is compensated by less time dodging attacks and focusing on maximising the damage that you have. Deserves honorable mention.

I disagree. While yeah he can be nice to fill teams that work fine with 3 characters and if you don’t have any really viable option for the 4th one, he’s not even that good in that domain cause you might as well just bring like kazuha. And yeah not dodging can give a small dps boost but having a character synergising . with the team will just give even more dps. So yeah he’s nice but he doesn’t deserve honorary mention
@@TheOddOrigin Except for certain teams like Yoimiya, Hu tao, Wanderer and Xiao it's better of using him than a offensive support. In Yoimiya's case she doesn't like to be interpreted, to some extent melt Ganyu. Also he's good in the current Abyss due to favouring survivability over more offence.
We should also factor in the emotional toll Zhongli can save
I'd much rather consistently 30 star the abyss with a Zhongli and be unaffected than 36 star the abyss with a better support after 100 resets and 10 breakdowns (I'm obviously exaggerating but it IS stressful)
Love how Kokomi went from "why no one plays" to "top 5 support" lol truly one of the greatest genshin comebacks of all time. I hope Dehya would receive the same treatment 🙃

Plenty of characters have gotten indirect buffs however. Look at keqing before and after dendro. Its a pretty big improvement even though she didn't get a direct buff.
@@kialo2085Zhongli Is the only one who has ever been buffed and mihoyo specifically said they will NEVER buff another character again. Tho obviously they went out of their way to PURPOSEFULLY NERF Dehya to make her not work with Yelan and Xingqiu and in general clunky to play. I guess they thought people would spend money nontheless because of the hype for her but didn't really work now did it.
Notable mention: Kaveh as best emotional support damage
The only nitpick I can think of about xingqiu is that he shortly applies hydro to himself and it can make you get frozen. But it can also work to cleanse other elements so I guess it balances out in the end.
It is short enough that you can just, welp, not do it if cryo is applied/about to be applied to you

With how broken both Hydro and our newest Archon are, Focalors better be broken as hell in a kinda niche set of teams or at extremely versatile to a SS tier level. If not, there will be a lot left to be desired :’)

Also, Xingqiu is currently the only character to get nerfed in the hole game. Back in 1.0, his ult used to have no ICD, that later got changed in 1.1.

Bennett's double edged sword (Self Pyro Application) finally became relevant with the release of Concecrated Beasts & Cryo Herald.
Unlike playable characters, all enemies have no ICD, meaning that having constant self Pyro Application can punish you against enemy's attack (oneshotted by Vaporize/Melt), and his healing may or may not be able to keep up against self burning.
it does keep up and even surpasses self burning (speaking from experience, hell, it surpassed burning+xiao's self harm)
But I do agree that bennet feels like a double edged sword, which has been noticed as somethin you can take advantage of with jean sunfire. I'm glad that using bennet feels more risky, rather then be immortal+free atk buff. Even his circle feels like somethin you have to take time and think where to use it, cuz so many enemies now run around and away from you.
Just give us another pyro sub dps who can constantly apply element, cmon hoyo

She's a hyperbloom dps, it's only in quicken teams where she's a support
She's both off field DPS and defensive support, much like Xingqiu
she's mainly not a support tho, shes a hyperbloom trigger

@@blueberryguy8666 hmm that depends on what you define as DPS I guess Alhaitham Hyperbloom is one of the most fun teams I have played in 3.0 and while yes Kuki is hitting 30-40K Hyperbloom a it's mostly Yelan doing a lot of hydro damage and Al Haithim doing a tinning of Dendro damage with his projection attacks and driving the team and the reactions so I'd argue she is mainly a support

Kokomi is even better due to the indirect parts of her kit; consistent skill hits means good tenacity holder and catalyst means ttds holder. So that's 2 ways of buffing plus great hydro application and healing. I love her, I can't even explain how upset I would be if I didn't have her
she really did rise up the ranks. as a gen 1 kokomi haver I feel so happy and proud of her :)
Nice work! Keep it up! Although I very much believe that every archons that are released and going to be release are the best at their utilization of their visions or element.
With Venti, although he's not now at his element, he still once hailed as the best before kazuha.
Geo is supposed to be the shield and tank, thus Zhongli. Plus his shield offers res shred. Plus Xiao is tall so...

I understand that she's a niche electro support but i did say that she carries be through my dendro shenanigans specifically -- in a video about supports for dendro teams she would be one of the top picks
Yep, Kuki and Raiden are the top electro supports and somehow not even a honorable mention.
Kuki and Mona both have never left my main team since I got them.
As a DPS she's really good, but as a support she's only decent. While her healing is not bad in any way, she doesn't support the team in other aspects unlike the characters in the video, so her value comes from her Hyperbloom damage rather than her supporting capabilities.

Tbh I think she should've been on the DPS list alongside Shogun for Hyperbloom.
Decently built Shinobu with Hyperbloom is literally like 40k DPS worth of Dendro damage on a healer unit, and her usage rate shot up from absolute bottom to one of the most used 4*s after Dendro.
Damn mihoyo had to release an entire element and 3 new reactions to de-throne kazuha. Just shows how op he was in every single team.
Ever since her release, I have always her in team if I want to do something with dendro. Her personality is very outstanding! If I had to put my top supports I use the most, that would be Nahida, Shogun, Kazuha, Qiqi (used to main her prior Nahida release) and Yun-Jin. I haven't used Bennett for more than a year until Spiral Abyss 3.7... so I thank him as 5-star to save our lives!

Nahida isnt really a DPS, she could easily be replaced by Childe and Al Haitam. She could've just held a spot on this list.
Yeah that's my mistake. I wrote the DPS video and then recorded it before making the supps video and realized I could've just put Nahida in supports while putting Alhaitham in DPS and it would've been a win win... 😓

To be fair Nahida doesn’t fall very short of Alhaithams dps at all if you give her a crit weapon, this girl is hitting 50k off field per tick if I bring her on field she can hit up to 100k she truly hits like a truck for such a small archon
@@Marz333she cannot compare to his on field DPS tbh - Alhaitham hits 50k per spread on his sword rains, which equals out to 120k per 3 mirror sword rain, plus his burst, plus that's all AoE.
Nahida is an exceptional off field DPS, but Alhaitham's teams calc out better than her versions of the same comps (hyperbloom and spread, she remains ahead as a support otherwise in burgeon, bloom, national and the mixed teams like "curry" or whatever).
They also just work fantastically together, which is why they're such a powerful DPS & sub DPS combo.

Although kazuha and nahida doesn't necessarily 'provide' team-wide defensive capability, they have certain techs that I think can also be counted as "defensuve"
First of all, Kazuha can jump mid-air allowing him to dodge any incoming ground attacks. If you ever fought Raiden Shogun boss, you know what I mean.
Also, Nahida is basically immune to stagger whenever she holds her E and (as far as I know) she has the most i-frames in her burst, more than Keqing.
So yeah. I think although they don't necessarily provide shield or healing, I think you should consider them too because rotations are a thing in genshin.

Xingqiu is so good that I can't remove him from my freeze, vaporize, double hydro, bloom, aggrivate and national teams. I have 5* supports but even that can't convince me that they can replace him. This is very true when we are talking about the hydro application and off-field dps. Also not mentioning the healing and super armor from his elemental skill. He's THAT GOOD.
For me, Diona is the best support. She can heal, shield, and battery all without taking up much field time.
Don’t forget her massive EM buff at c6! Counts as support but yeah!

Don't forget her shield burst akill can be single target or aoe when used eith electric as well, easily creating aupercondut reliably an efficiently while also keeping up with group rotations.

Bro really replaced Alhiethem for nahida in his DPS tier list. And now has put Nahida is support tier list even though he had said he wont put same characters in both tier list like Raiden in his past tier list videos. 💀
Yeah in hindsight I should've swapped Nahida out for Alhaitham for the DPS if I was gonna put her in supports anyway. Initially my reasoning was that I didn't want every character in the DPS vid to be hydro/dendro so I made the DPS script and video before making the supports script and then sort of dug myself into a hole because I realized if I was gonna add Nahida to the supps video I could've added Alhaitham to the DPS list in her place after all.

Basically I was concerned that by making 4 out of 5 characters on the dps video Dendro/hydro it would give off the impression that that’s the ONLY teams worth making (since a lot of viewers interpret top 5s as “these are the best, everyone else sucks”) so while I’m fully aware alhaitham is deserving to be on this list, I ultimately went with shogun who is a powerful damage dealer in her own right, perhaps not quite as strong as Al in terms of sheer numbers to numbers.
To repeat in hindsight I could’ve left Nahida in the supports video and put in alhaitham anyway so that concern was over nothing. But basically my goal was to give viewers more options out of worry that by seeing a top five full of hydro/Dendro it would make a lot of viewers feel forced or pressured to only play Dendro and nothing else. It wasn’t out of personal bias. A lot of characters in Genshin are extremely powerful so practically speaking Shogun being on a top five list isn’t wrong per se. But technically speaking alhaitham is stronger, so yes he should’ve been on this list instead of shogun. But out of concern for people feeling pressured into playing only Dendro I made that concession, even though in the end I didn’t even need to.
The MMSF2 music fits the vibe for this so hard. Nice job!
Kuki could also be on the list especially post dendro , she became a very powerful unit offering both healing and offense via her E and is one of the best in slots for hyperbloom and taser
he's not for everyone but baizhu has been a lifesaver. a team of nilou, nahida, yelan and baizhu nukes everything in 3 secs
edit: i have kokomi y'all and i still like baizhu. i mostly use just kokomi in my freeze team now
You can also just use Kokomi instead of Baizhu

I’m both happy for Koko being top 5 (I never cared about her nega crit cause that’s not her focus) and sad Sucrose wasn’t added as HM although with venti being put instead it’s kinda fair since she’s mostly better than him but her role is mostly shadowed by Kazu.
I would like to mention Layla because I found she works well with Hu Tao and her shield cooldown and shield duration is 12 seconds, meaning you could have almost infinite uptime on her shield with the right rotation. And based on my experience with using her, she's one of the, if not the number 1 best 4 star shield. Yea sure she can't heal like Diona can but I believe that the almost infinite uptime on her shield makes up for it
Nahida can hold Prototype Amber for healing. You can still push her EM way high with a lucky flower or feather as an off-set piece. DMG loss on her Tri-karma isn't too bad either.

Yup. It took me a while to realise his value is not shield strength, but shield duration. >100% uptime from a single activation means you can easily remain constantly shielded. Other chars in practice will have gaps to manage. I kinda hope they introduce a shielding artefact that increases duration that could make other shielders easier to use.
Dude, you have two Zhonglis. Noelles shield is insanely powerful and you can heal during it.
@@gilroyscopa Yeah noelle's shield is powerful but has a really bad up time unless if your playing her on field as a driver

Zhongli maybe reconsidered for the future, as a better support, if more monsters comes with properties like consecrated beats (which is super highly probable) the resistance to interruption could become vital
So yeah, I hope community can be smart enough to understand how much dodges on a period of time are worst than using a 4rd slot on a interruption resistant character (if more monsters come like them and they haven't shown any intention to nerf them like other times in the past)
To this moment no one has worked properly on that, and dodge it's not infinite
@@fzhs7030 yeah I know, but speaking from enemy moves design, they are growing in some tendencies like:
Pushing you away from any circle
Not being staggered so easily or directly having priority over your movements
The duration of their movements it's quite long (by example: Iframing with burst and still getting hit because they used the rolling that pushes you)
Lowering cooldowns or stamina
And some more, if this trends keeps growing, how future proof
it's to keep saying that a Resistant to interruption character, it's a DPS loss

Seeing Kokomi getting so much love nowadays makes me feel vindicated for pulling her on release. She truly is the best fish in Genshin.
She's nice is freeze teams, but honestly I'd use kuki in almost every other team line up especially with how good hyoerbloom is

I think people are sleeping on baizhu. He provides the same defensive habilities as kokomi healing the whole team with one e, and casting a shield that even though weak it provides resistance to interruption. I know koko applies hydro but so does baizhu with dendro (in a lesser way). Moreover contributes to dendro ressonace, and as you just said, em is in the current meta as important as atq if not more.
Dont want to drag koko but point that baizhu is as good support as her.

baizhu is so underrated
Baizhu is a good character, but he isn’t groundbreaking. All he does is heal, similar to Qiqi, and his damage resistance isn’t really special either. Every other character in this video can help thier teams in multiple ways, Baizhu just doesn’t.

Kokomi doesn’t just heal, she also enables hydro reactions, and can be used as a Main DPS in Nilou Teams. Baizhu’s Dendro application is worse than Collei’s without Cons. He’s a good support, but he isn’t Top 5.

I always get good vibes if I bring healing support characters into a coop weekly bosses; especially Kokomi or Qiqi. Also thanks for calling them Characters because these are characters. Although I did see you slip from time to time and call them units.

A thouhgt came into my mind: maybe we should differentiate between support and enabler characters? Kokomi is an enabler for Nilou bloom and Kuki is an enabler in the Hyperbloom team, for example.
I have to wonder if the hydro archon in Fontaine will be as multi-purposed broken as Nahida. Did Hoyo go too far with her? Is she too good at C0 or will they hide the hydro archon's similar greatness behind multiple constellations this time.

I never really use Zhongli but this 3.7 abyss literally forced me to play him again
i wouldn't say xingqiu is best for freeze. he has a single target hydro application so it's a little more difficult to get hydro on a bunch of enemies compared to characters like kokomi, ayato or even mona. the best units for freeze work are a lot more uncomfortable to use wtih him as well, ganyu doesn't do normal attacks and ayaka has her burst + sprint that will waste a lot of xingqiu's burst uptime.

Maybe i missed it, but i think you didnt mention that the main reason Nahida is OP as a support because she has the best dendro application. I realize that you said about the best consistency but not what is she consistent in. So far, imo, the closest one to having the most consistent dendro application is Alhaitham and DMC. I dont have Alhaitham so im not sure how true that is. But if i ever need reliable dendro applier. Its either Nahida or DMC. The others are pretty meh.

Yep. I have c1 xingqui and there is a short window of time where he can't apply hyndro. Also only his shattered sword scales off hp so just like childe, he doesn't benefit much from hydro resonance.

Hi Vars i wanted to ask something Which 5 start hydro character should I pull Yelan or Kokomi ? I am a f2p player and have very limited primogems which limits me to only pull for one of them.

I want to use them in dendro teams but I have c3 kuki and c0 Yao Yao that im building and have a well built xingque. Or as a another option I can wait for the hydro archon. What should I do?
If you are aiming for a hyperbloom team. Yelan would be the better option as the damage is from the Electro character.
If you can use Xingqu alongside Yelan your hyperbloom team becomes better.
Since folcalor'd kit has already been leaked, Essentially she drains HP for a dmg buff and is a Support similar to Bennett. We don't know the scaling as of yet but if you want the best option for your teams.
Get Yelan and use a double hydro combination for your hyperbloom team. Then consider getting nahida as you have the hyperbloom team that basically destroys the game
Also a F2P and not enough primos for Kazuha and Kokomi... I wish I didn't wished for the last 2 banners.... didn't know these 2 great characters were going to be on banners.
koko is better in hydro application, great AoE and she heals.
She don't need to be on field so you leave her and use a DPS on field to make reactions.

I only have constellations on two 5 stars and yes c2 on Zhongli. That sky rockets double hydro Hutao to the best single target team I have at my disposal. The other is Albedo because what can I say, Mono Geo was my favourite team to run. Itto and Noelle were best boy and girl for me for a long time. I love bringing mono geo to the abyss when there are no shields. Unfortunately this abyss really hates on geo.
Idk if Baizhu existed when this video released, and I'm pretty sure he did, Baizhu is a better healer than Kokomi, considering all of his healing is "Positioning-independent" and require near 0 field-time. Also aside from healing A LOT, Baizhu increases damage from the best reactions in the game, making him a "make-shift Nahida" with heals
Can someone explain how crit damage actually work in this game? How come sometimes my damage is like quadrupled, even though my Crit damage bonus is not even 200%

My main team is Kaveh Kazuha Xingqiu and Yao Yao. It’s a bloom focused team and since kazuha can pull people and my blooms it’s perfect

sucrose not being on this list is a literal crime, also xingqiu is not just the best 4 star character, he is the best character in the game

I think you have underestimated kazuha's defensive capabilities a little,
Not saying that has too much but the vertical movement from his E is immensely effective in dodging against quite a considerable amount of heavy hitting enemies. I cant count enough how many times his E has saved me from dying from bosses in abyss. its almost quite as much defensive utility as a burst .
