There's another side to this argument. Let's say you are a new player and really like Hu Tao or Raiden Shogun. You can still play them perfectly well in 4.x. Hoyo puts a lot of care into their characters, even older characters appear in stories and can be played. I think that's one of the strengths of the game. That being said, Pure Fiction was a brilliant move in Honkai Star Rail. Everyone thought Himeko and Herta to be useless before. A new game mode in Genshin would definitely be refreshing.

I believe strongly that this should be the norm, not the exception. The main character is usually supposed to be some significant player in the story, and often has some hidden power that lore-wise makes them literally god-like, then they get overshadowed by characters who lore-wise are not remotely as strong. Making the MC a powerhouse worth playing the whole game actually adds to the feeling that they are in fact the MAIN character.

The healing from Spectro Rover's s4 doesn't look all that much. Let's say you have 1000 attack. The skill says you recover 20% of your attack per second for 5 seconds. 20% of 1000 is 200 x 5 = 1000 HP healing. Even now, the three characters in my line-up all have at least 7k-8k HP, which means that 1k HP heal won't heal anything substantial from something like Dreamless at level 60.
