- Sean O'Malley vs Marlon Vera 2 took place at UFC 299 and Vera's coach Jason Parillo was so unprofessional with his corner work & in his response to the loss. This is my reaction to this cope, let me know what you guys think in the comments section down below.

This just feels like the whole vibe of their training camp and gameplan for the fight was operating under the impression that O'Malley is just some wimp and will break to Vera eventually and that they would ultimately not win anyway. Why give Vera that defeatist mindset when he really needs that morale boost between rounds. That piece of advice in the corner wasn't helpful but felt like Parillo was just taking a coping shot at O'Malley and the UFC. Also to say they didn't go for a takedown because Aljo couldn't? Like Yan didn't get down Sean multiple times?
Thank you for this video!!! This is literally like bringing home a drunk guy and having him corner you at 2am
Big greasy Guru.
Look at how slurred Parillo's speech is. He has CTE too from all the boxing training over the years.
It’s a slur from being hit in the head a lot
you know what this reminds me of..Diego coach. Fabian or whatever ,,parillo is like the alpha of those 2 soy cult leaders. like fabio is the feminine gay version and parillo is like the meat head cult leader I'm not saying it right but their 2 sides of same wooden nickle
some of the most atrocious corner advice in ufc history
The worst cornering in UFC history has all come from corners refusing (or being ordered by their fighter) to never throw in the towel under any circumstances. Every bad beating we've seen with no towel coming in is the worst a corner gets.
Rose vs Carla has entered the chat.
@@smesh8742 ATP or Whitman would be a great move for Chito he’s definitely got more potential.
Is this everything Parillo told Chito? I mean Parillo might not be a good coach and Chito seems kind of uncoachable but the pigman may be cherry picking one thing Parillo said during fight for a outrage content video.
@@user-bc2kg1mx8sI mean he told him all the could lol he tried giving him real advice in the first 2 rounds but chito was just standing there doing nothing anyways so his coach just told him to let loose for the next 3 rounds and he still just didn't do shit I think chitos just uncoachable
"They're gonna give him that round" - this right after he ate a knee so loud i heard it on the Gulf Coast
It would have been even funnier if they just kept telling him he won the round and to start coasting😭
I still hear the echos of that knee to this day, comes around my area around 7:07pm daily
Sorry you have to live there bud, that’s just awful
I forgot how damn loud that was. Just rewatched it and it sounds like some juiced baseball player hitting a home run into the upper decks lol. Not getting KO’d by that shot was the most impressive thing Chito did that entire fight

The Israel Adesanya story... I mean
@@JohnJoatanyour profile, all your comments, everything is cringe
@@JohnJoatancope. It wasn't a fluke. He kicked o malleys leg and o malley was unable to stand, a few follow up shots and the ref called it.then o malley got stretchered out of the arena. That's the definition of a TKO. Anywhere you hit someone on their body, you're hitting nerves. And a win doesn't undo a loss. It's 1-1.
that open heart surgery analogy killed me lmao🤣
It really did
Shit had me rolling
I think it was an attempt to protect Vera's ego (he obviously has a massive one). Instead of telling him, "hey, you're getting your ass kicked and need a finish", he's framing it as though the judges will show favoritism toward O'malley, so you need a finish.
A coach is like a parent. Enablers are dangerous. I would get it if pirillo were brand new and trying to build a name but he's more than established.

I believe Rogan referred to it as "world class" haha
He meant they were praising Jason saying you need to go vato and for the knock out which imo I felt needed tk say as a coach, "it's time to switch levels and shoot this round. Make him worry about it cause for 3 rounds he doesn't beljeve you're going to"
They didn't show Sean's corner much at all. Some say it's cause chito was losing but I firmly believe sean and Tim asked to not pan to them because they don't want their talk and strategy released for future fights.
Just my opinion.
@@SlSl-be7yrHe gave actual advice about three rounds too late. Chito's corner work was objectively terrible.
Best corner advice since Eddie Bravo screaming "do an imanari roll" at Tony while Justin is killing him 😂
Yup he had good boxing defence in his early fights. Then Eddie and the other coaches smoked so much weed it melted their minds.
They turned Tony into a pineata 😭

@@crystaltisckos5457That's bullshit tbh. Chito and Parillo are so close and they've got some big wins. Yeah it could be doing with some adjustments, but they don't need a break up
Parilo has coached 3 ufc champions that I know of lol
This supposed profesional coach was not able to develop a gameplan for a title fight, already having the precedent and psychological edge of the first fight where Chito won. There wasn't a semblance of a structure or strategy in the way Chito fought
Well said, fighter and team looked lost out there
The green haired kid had more of a chance of beating Sean than Chito.
The first fight was a clear fluke.
He just shelled up and waited to counter while being too slow to do so and getting absolutely beat to shit
You can give a fighter a gameplan and they can abandon it. We don’t know what his gameplan going in was or what they worked on for camp.
@@letmegetuhhh3959 Well, his coach seems as delusional as he does after the fact
Worst part is that Chito seems like a "loyal" guy who will be blinded by how far he's gotten with him to the point I do not see him finding a new gym which is what he needs imo...
He is pushing shit up Hill at this point
He would be wise to go to Eric Nicksick in my opinion. At first I found it strange that Dern left the team, but now it makes a lot more sense. She could probably tell something was wrong with his methods.

Dude you have been locked in and on fire with your videos lately.
"With no clock? Chito goes to jail for murder"
its so wild for me that you could be that experienced in MMA and boxing to not understand the only reason he landed a body shot is because Omalley put himself there..if the fight kept going he would have stayed on the outside and actually sent him to the hosptial. Did he want him to die?
Deep down he knows, he just gotta ride for his boys lowkey lmao
Yeah I hate when people say that in general. “In a real fight there’s no clock so Chito would have won in a real fight” Like bro a real fight would not go for 25 minutes in the first place
To be fair sean keeled over in pain. Could've chito finished? Maybe. But too late, it's like wen nate diaz won 1 minute of a fight and got praise for it.
I remember thinking this when the coach actually said " you need to go vato"... that's Joshua Fabia levels of delusion
Yep don't think Parillo is a genius
He didn't even bother with a takedown because he knew he was to greased😂
He didn’t go for a takedown because he can’t grapple. Sandhagen proved that.
What a little child of a coach he is. Responding like that as a grown man is sad
“Taking a sh*t in your cousins rib cage” lollll this is why I MMAGURU
The truth is Chito believed his own hype going in to this fight. Despite all the evidence to the contrary Chito and his coach thought that Vera had the striking advantage from their last fight. Cory was right about Chito in his fight breakdown. Chito didnt deserve to be in there with Omalley and fighters need to stop going into fights with Sean believing all that "he was gifted his position in the UFC" bullshit. Omalley is the real deal and if you dont study his film and gameplan properly you are gonna go into that cage and get your ass beat up. This also counts for Mirab.
Sean has a genuine advantage on the feet.
This Sean is defensively sound as well and he was still willing to trade in the pocket with Chito.
Chito had " chances" but the timing was so rare no way he could catch Sean without Paulo Costa/Edson Barbosa level head kicks.

The biggest respect I'll ever give to you That you didn't say anything hypocritical because you and Marlon have something in common you both look like you are homeless right now
Where is your pfp from?
I can see why Parillo said what he said, I think he wanted to tell him he needed a KO without saying "hey, you are getting your ass kicked, no way you where even close to winning a round, you definitely need a knockout" maybe with Chito's mindset and personality type that is the right way to say it, a sort of "it's us against him and the whole company go knock this guy out" Certainly better than a lot of coaches that say "I think you're up on the cards" when it is a close fight and they are likely down without encouraging a finish.
bro saying you're getting your ass kicked, you need a knockout would have been better for chito.
@@saljewsteinbergowitz How would you know? Some fighters would find that very demoralising and react badly.
@@guyjackson1261 I'm not a coach nor do I claim to have knowledge of coaching, but it seems like common sense to try different approaches with your fighter as soon as you meet them and see which way of communicating gets the best response from the fighter. That way if the fighter needs to get fired up after getting whooped all over the place, you as the coach knows exactly what to save to reignite the fire to start pushing the pace and make a comeback.
@@andreitomescu7847 Yeah, that is my point, maybe with Chito this approach suits him. Seems even more likely seeing as how delusional he is being after this loss and how he manages to maintain composure and wait for his chance while getting outfought in most of his fights.
When he got a chance in this fight he landed a nasty body shot.
@@saljewsteinbergowitznot necessarily. Every fighter/coach relationship is different and good coaches know when something like that will break your fighter. Everything is easy in hindsight. If Chitos body shot landed and finished it people would be saying he made the right call lmao. Fans are fickle.
Vera needs to learn from holloway how he dealt with the Volk ass whopping... no coping, just immediately went to fixing holes and rebuilding.
The problem with people going up against Sean is that it's hard for them to let their ego admit Sean is amazing striker. It's almost like their ego tells them there is NO WAY this guy that dresses like a clown and has an open relationship is super talented. I think they all underestimate Sean and go in with the same game plan of "My striking is way better". The sad part is by the time these fighters start giving Sean the credit for striking and retooling their gameplan they will find out how good he is on the ground too.
True.
Exactly this, Chito thought he would win just because he acts tough and Sean acts like your average millenial.
This is as bad as Colby Covington’s corner against Leon Edward’s
This was the same coach when Sean Strickland and that big jujitsu guy had a scuffle was recording it on the Phone instead of breaking it up. He was with Bisping for a long time. So who knows.

true words spoken guru
I’m surprised you didn’t mention the part where Parillo was like , ‘time to go vato’ (or something like that) and then immediately changes his mind right after telling Chito ‘not now.’ He had no idea wtf to tell Chito in the corner
Dude thank you that was the most brain dead coaching ever. If you pay attention he literally goes, you gotta go for it NOW! Actually not now, not now. Then doesn't give him any structure to go off of from there.. Think of how rocked chitos head was after getting hit like that.. His coaches needed to give chito some clarity with in the chaos chitos brain was experiencing..
He also said something like “we need you to get at this guy now! Wait not now… err.. We need you to go now!” pure comedy.
I also don’t think there’s any rebuttal to this or explanation, seeing as the game plan was terrible and nothing was ever changed. You can’t say it’s a Chito problem and not on the coaches when the corner work backs up this criticism.
Thank you for talking about this guru. I really also agree with you his coach is gonna to stop his growth as a fighter.

They act like Sean gets special treatment and that’s why he’s a success, when actually Marlon is the one who was gifted this, and he also was allowed by the ufc to cheat the scales and come in overweight. Imagine if it was the other way around
that was just his way of saying "you are down 3 rounds and we need a finish" Maybe he knows Chito doesnt want to hear he's getting his ass kicked straight up. Coaches know their fighters and what triggers them
That's an assumption. Some coaches just suck. Hiw many coaches actually say what their guy needs to hear when things are going bad and get them to change things up? I'm willing to bet most of them don't help their fighters in any way when things are going badly.

I was shocked bc I specifically was thinking during the breaks “what is he even saying? That was horrible coaching”. Then like the next round I think the commentary was talking about the great advice of Chitos corner lol
Parillo and Henri Hooft are some of the most overrated striking coaches in MMA. Want to see how bad Parillo truly is? Watch him corner Dern. During any Dern fight you’ll hear him giving the worst advice and teaching her how to strike in the middle of the fight
