    Mate you have some beautiful mini & that Austin Cooper s 😍 love also the fact you're in a wheelchair doesnt stop you. I've got fibromyalgia (extreme Fatigue, joint pain muscle pain) put doesn't stop me working on my metro.
    Also are you up for doing a POV mini drive I'd like to see how you use the hand controls. Keep it up mate 👌🏻👏🏻

    Great video Alex the boot lid looks a lot better and nice to see the electrics being done with heat shrink being a perfectionist I wouldn’t have expected anything less

    Thanks mate, you show details on jobs often glossed over by most CZcamsrs. Not sure about lining the slots in screws up? Do you check the orientation of tightened hex nuts and bolts as well? LoL

      Thanks Stewart! I do try to cover as much as possible without waffling to much! All fixings are symmetrical except engine studs 🤣

    The boot lid is a credit to your attention to detail, gloss powder coat contrasts really well. I never realised the whole number plate hinged down ( not a mini guru). My grandad encouraged me into looking after cars, retired marine engineer. Remembering his advice that has stayed with me : grease nuts & bolts unless need torque wrench, tighten bolts / filters etc. snug not FT, clean nuts/ bolts before undoing very carefully with socket / spanner fully home, torque car wheels to 70lb / ft, use 6 point sockets, I still only use the 6 point socket set he bought me. In 33 years I have had one oil filter come loose, oil all over mam & dads new block paved drive, buggar.

    Hi Alex, you mentioned the headlight switch being 64 dated, although the D reg on the car I’m assuming is a 1966 reg? The rear end is pure perfection buddy! I’m sure you’re feeling pretty proud having one of the rarest minis. Great series 👍🇬🇧

      Hi mate the car was built 7th January 65 so most parts used are dated late 64. The DVLA put the car on a D plate as it wasn't registered in the us till 66

    I keep all my screw slots vertical and my hex nuts/bolts with a point at the top. It not only looks better, it also helps water/dirt run off rather than settling and causing problems.

    Hi Alex. Those slot screws . There's nothing wrong with that ! But did you know that the slots should be vertical so that water can run off the slot and not lie in it . I make sure that the rear lamp screws are aligned symmetrically as well . I continue this discipline inside the car . But obviously you can't do this regarding the engine . Just to prove how far l go , in 1964 the number plates were gloss and the securing screws were metal . (Plastic screws had not yet appeared) . I "think" the thread size for the number plate brackets is the same for the radius arm covers but "pan" head. Hope you don't mind my comments , you know l only make them in a constructive way . And , how bloody rude of me ! I forgot to congratulate you on your great news ! (And you thought you were fussy !) 😂😂😂 Take care and stay safe.

      Thats interesting about the water! Yout exactly right with the plastic screws! I never thought. Did they paint the screws black or silver? I may change these out in the future!

    It looks so much better now with the new bootlid and no lamp. OCD is a pain in the arse because it has you chasing after perfection and perfection doesn't exist. That Alex has a cruel sense of humour sometimes 😂

It's good when you know what your triggers are cos you can choose to fight them or let them ride along, so long as they don't interfere to much that's what counts. Once you get the under bonnet to your specs then you'll be there.......until you spot something else 🤣

    I don't think your number plate light is particularly rare. They use the same one's on the MGB rubber bumper models.

      @@classicminidetails8887 Nothing should be made of plastic on 1965 light! The chrome should be metal and the lense proper glass!
      BL used that style of number plate light up until the mid 1980's I can imagine it being updated to plastic over that time!
      I'm sure the real deal must be out there if yours is plastic!

    All that attention to detail certainly looks good however the first time you take it down a muddy lane in the rain none of it'll show. In my mind that's what they're designed for and how you get the most fun out of owning the car is by using them. I don't believe that these cars are just for show and looking at. You obviously disagree!!

      I will certainly be using it once its adapted. Obviously my choice of weather conditions is a factor but they certainly dont sit in my garage all the time

      @@classicminidetails8887 I'm very pleased to hear that, sure that you'll enjoy driving it. The weather doesn't bother me they're much more fun to drive in the wet when you can slide it about a bit. However each to his own as I've said before.
