1st update :- You can apply for US F1 visa 365 days prior to the start of your program that but you still can't enter USA 30 days before the start of your program date.
    2. The fees for DS-160 has been increased from 160$ to 185$.
    Now 5 TIPS
    1. Don't give one word answer at your F1 - Visa interview.
The first question the visa officer is going to ask you is with some variations.
Why are you going to study in USA?
Do not talk about irrelevant things. Answer should be informational and helpful and do not ramble.
    2. Do not memorize responses?
Have in mind top 5 things you want to say?
They are experienced and they can quickly catch you.
    3. Establish a connection with the visa officer.
Look them in the eyes. Look comfortable and Confident.
Sometimes, visa officer is typing and not lookig at you but still you should do your best.

Listening to the officers questions and establish that you are being authentic and your answer is distinctive.
    4. Don't change you school because it is not going to help you. Just prepare better for visa interview.

If you have a sponsor that's paying for you?

Hi Mandy, thank you very much; the tips I learned from your videos really helped me with my interview, and I got my J-1. My program is fully sponsored by the U.S. Department of State (Fulbright). Also, the program fully sponsors my dependents, and I've received the DS-2019 for all of them. My concern is about their J-2 visa interview as my spouse can't speak English but my 13-years old kid can speak at an intermediate level. Due to closure of the U.S. Embassy in my home country, they need to apply to a U.S. Consulate in a third country. A recent J-2 denial under Section 214b - from the same program and country as me - scares me too about my dependents' case. I appreciate your advice in this regards so that they can well prepare for their interview.

In 2013, my B-1 visa application was denied, followed by a denial of my F1 visa application in 2022. I had applied for the F1 visa from the country where I completed my undergraduate degree and was employed at the time. Additionally, my mother currently resides in the US under the "withholding of removal" status, and my brother has faced five rejections for a B-1 visa. Now, I have received admission to one of the top universities in the USA and I am considering reapplying for an F1 visa from my home country. Both of my rejections was under 214(b). Given these circumstances, what are the chances of my visa being approved this time?

    Hello Mandy!
    Please read with patience.
I am currently applying for an f1 visa to get an associate's degree in Biology at College of San Mateo. I intend to transfer to Cal State Uni after the associate's. My interview is on August 10th at the US Embassy Dhaka, Bangladesh. I completed my Secondary/10th exams in December 2021. During 2022, I had to take a study gap to get my documents sorted. My birth certificate was outdated as well as my parents'. I didn't have a passport so I had apply for that and I had a spelling mistake in my academic transcripts. Basically almost the entirety of 2022 went away by me making several visits to the government offices. But I didn't abandon my studies. I took preparation for GEDs at home. I will hopefully get my GEDs done at least a month before the interview. Can I add GED to my educational history in my DS-160? Like Name of Institution: GED Testing Service, Course of Study: General Educational Development, Address: 1850 M STREET NW, Washington, DC? I got this information by contacting GEDs help section. Anyways, is putting this information going to be a red flag for me? Should I put it in there? Also does not taking traditional 12th exams and taking a GED cause a higher chance of denial? Please do tell. Thank you very much for reading.

😊Hi Ma'am, my GRE scores were canceled due to some technical issues, and as a result, the ETS website did not provide me with the scorecard. Due to my busy schedule, I haven't had the opportunity to retake the GRE test. However, I have applied to four universities where the GRE requirement was waived. So now, if the visa officer asks about my GRE score, what should I answer? Also, will the visa officers be aware of our test score cancellation or any issues related to our scores? I completed my Undergraduate in the year 2020 with a GPA of 8.2 out of 10 and I also have 2 years of work experience.

Thank you so much. I was awarded a GA position but I applied to the University using my mother's bank statement. While the bank statement contains more than enough money to cover the remaining cost of my studies, my mother is now retired and earning $500 monthly in benefits. In addition, my sister who is an expatriate with the United Nations pays our mother $2000 every month to care for her grandchildren, but this is not a formal employment arrangement, so how do I navigate this tricky situation in my visa interview?

Hi Mandy. I have been refused twice for a tourist visa (B2) , once in 2018 and once in 2019. Now i will be applying for F1 visa. How do you think my previous refusals will impact my f1 visa chances in 2023? I'm going to Arizona state university, for MS- Business Analytics.
Also, in the DS-160, i have mentioned that i've been refused in 2019 only, do i also need to mention about 2018 too?

    • @ZFvisa

Yes, it will affect your next interview. You should mention that you’ve been refused before because they will be able to see it.

If an F2 Visa applicant suffers from breast cancer and has to prevent from reengagement by post treatment specific safety procedures, would this clarification alongside with an official letter authorized by her oncologist in first country, be a reputable evidence that she will not try to change her Visa to F1 at US, since her major is chemistry?
Will this illustration persuade the officer?

Hi mandy, here's my situation: I've had two visa interviews refused and now I'm having to defer my admission in order to het a new date, but here's the situation; they keep asking me about my sponsor (who is my uncle) and also what I'm doing presently (i just finished my national youth service corps) and also what i intend on doing postgraduation (of which i said "i will return to take up a lecturing job at my almamata)...
Also on my Ds-160 form, i filled in that i had other relative (not immediate relative) in the US, but then I'm not close to this person, what would be the best way to answer this question at the interview? Please i really wish to get a reply , Thanks.

Make sure you explain why you and your sponsor are close. They need to understand why someone who’s not your immediate family would want to sponsor your education. As for your other family, just say you have a _____ in the US but you’re not close. Good luck.
