“Have fun this time, because it will never come again.” My new motto 🤪
And it's TRUE! 🤣
I think they were going for a translation of a famous idiom but fumbled it, hehe.
Wow loved your book stand. Have to get me one of those. I use bookmarks from all over.
The book stand has been such a big help! It's also perfect to prop up reference books while studying, hehe.
You have to take me to the new bookstore in Tokyo whenever I visit next! And I love the post-its I bought in Japan, I’ve lost them all now but it was fun gathering them 😅
I am making a mental map of the best bookstores so I'll be ready! 🧭
When I end up going to Japan I'm going to come back with a suitcase full of post-its and pens.
There's so much gorgeous stuff! In the meantime I think LA has two Kinokuniya Bookstores, complete with stationary sections, if you'd like to get a fix 😉 (Little Tokyo and Santa Monica from the looks of the website, no idea if that's close for you!)
@@AlwaysDoing They are close enough that I can say goodbye money 💸💸💸😂
@@bookwhimsy Cheaper than a plane ticket! 😉
Since I do not read many physical books, I like to use pretty bookmarks when I read physical books :) But I also have some bookmarks from cafes and stores that I use outdoors. I never dog ear books.
Yeaaa for bling when you can use it! Hehe. And yes, dog earing is a red line for me, too. Once in English class I felt suddenly unwell and had to go to the nurse's office, and someone brought me my things at the end of the period. I had left my book face down on the desk on the page I left off at and the teacher - you could tell it killed him to do this - left the _tiniest_ little dog ear to mark my place. It was touching!
Great items💞nice bookmarks I use for book match👌
Ooo, I love that you use nice bookmarks and match them!
Too precious for receipts but I do like to cut up the boxes from pukka tea and use them as book marks as the designs are so lovely!
I immediately looked up Pukka Tea - how perfect for bookmarks! I'll be keeping my eye out for it in the import store now, so pretty.
What an amazing quote on the sticky! Everything becomes a bookmark in my house. I am especially fond of large theatre tickets if I have my druthers.
I think the sticky was trying to translate an idiom and failed, hehe. Ooooo, large theater tickets would be perfect, and also a fun memory of the show when you open a book! Love that.
I love all the different sticky notes. That's actually what I use as a bookmark whenever I read physical books (which is a small portion of my reading), since it's so easy to just stick the note in the front while I'm reading, and then add it in where I stop at the end of my reading session. Actual bookmarks I find tedious to deal with while in the process of reading, but sticky notes are great. I also don't worry about the sticky note falling out and losing my place!
I get the tediousness of actual bookmarks, especially if reading on the go! Sticky notes are such a perfect solution when one is forced to read physical books, hehe.
Today I used a souvenir NYC MetroCard. But I didn't have it when a new book arrived in the mail and I needed to mark quickly where I was, so I just dog-eared my place. I couldn't live in Japan with all the stationary temptation. ❤
Just the thought of a MetroCard brings back so much nostalgia! Your daughter is in NYC, am I remembering that correctly? You can send her to Kinokuniya and have her send you some choice stationary with a lower risk of temptation 😉💕
@@AlwaysDoing As a matter of fact, she brought me a lovely journal with special paper, I think it's Korean. It's so beautiful, I don't want to touch it. 🤣
I recently bought a book stand for my (unreasonably massive) uni books and it has been such a relief for my wrists and my neck! I wish I knew about these earlier in my life. I also love these book covers, I wish they were more of a thing where I live!
The book stand is a game changer! And why do textbooks need to be such doorstoppers? Gah.
I use pieces of paper as bookmarks so I can write my reading notes on them. I absolutely love those add on ribbon bookmarks! I've got to find me some of those. There's a Muji (or two in Sydney), I'll have to find an excuse to get there sometime soon. Your post its are so cute, although those refillable ones are cool.
Why haven't I thought about writing notes on bookmarks, that's great! I hope that your Muji carries the ribbon bookmarks - I love them so much.
Love those sticky cat post-it type stickers so cute! Glad to see you use a book stand have a question can you use the stand while sitting in a chair or bed? I suffer from CRPS Running down my arm and leading into my hand which makes reading painful for long periods of time. Thanks
Booo CRPS - that really stinks, I'm so sorry that you have to deal with that. Sending love to your arm and hand! 💌
When I'm sitting at my computer I place the stand on my desk, and when I sit in my armchair I place it (as flat as it will get) on my lap. I'm one of those people who curls up in chairs all kinds of weird ways, though, so I can always make it work 😂 Not sure about bed - I sleep on a Japanese-style futon which doesn't provide the same lounging potential as a bed. I can see it working, though! Hope that helps 💕
I love your memories reasoning for using business cards!
The cards are a nice reminder of some awesome places! I've since used the kitty post-its a bunch, and while they're adorable they don't stick very well -_- Some 100 yen post its work great, but not these, boo!
I think the forboding post it was trying to translate a hard-to-translate idiom and failed. Hard. 😂
Good for you for using the special bookmarks now and then! There are some things where I'm very much, 'use it, it's meant to be used' (especially stuff I knit) but I haven't gotten there with bookmarks yet 😅
And thank you! Finished another one yesterday, and trying to give myself a bunch of evening time tonight to read. Here's hoping! 🤞🏻
